So how was it? I got Nemesis Prime like I wanted. And I jewed a guy down to $25 for Art Asylum Dr. McCoy that I've been looking for for a couple years. And of course I bought some comics like always but not nearly as many as I have in the past. I didn't get to too many panels this year because I didn't get into town until late Friday. I saw the WB 300 presentation, followed by the Tarantino/Rodriguez Double Feature Grindhouse presentation and HLLY FUCKBALLS do they look awesome. Then I ran upstairs to listen to Avi Arad talk out of his ass about the new Marvel Movies. The French guy directing the Hulk sequel was there, as was the Ant-Man director and Jon Favreau, director of Iron Man. But that sucjed because by the time it was over there was no way to get back downstairs to Hall H in time to see the fucking awesome Ghost Rider/Spider-Man 3 presentation. Way to go Marvel. Oh well, I got a cool signed poster of Iron Man Movie. Then Sunday I pretty much wandered around the exhibit hall.

Here's the Chuxta Report:

Wednesday night: Got to town, didn't go to the Con. Had some yummy food because my mother-in-law cooks hella good.

Thursday: Tried to get some Hasbro exclusives for this bunch of idiots, but the 'tards at Hasbro had the worst system ever. Thursday, they had no limits on anything. I saw several people carrying cases of 501st Troopers, but they ran out of Nemesis Prime and said they were about out of 501st Troopers when I was in line. I said, "Fuck it." Picked up a bunch of freebies, got me a Decepticon shirt, and went to the animation panels. The verdict: Ant Bully looks like it'll suck balls, Happy Feet looks worse, that bear movie looks like it might be somewhat funny and (if nothing else) at least it has a bear in it, and I'm going to be starting a thread called "Holy Goddamn! TMNT is going to FUCKING ROCK!!" Trust me, guys, I know what I'm doing 3/30/07. That movie may give Spidey a serious run for his money. I actually thought it would beat it until. . . well, getting ahead of myself. Went to the Hasbro Transformers panel. Alternators appear to be dead for now :(, the Classics line looks a bit cheap, but I will be getting The Transformers: The Movie again in November, and not just for the widescreen. Beautiful cleanup job on that. I spoke with the rep from Sony BMG briefly, and she couldn't confirm anything, but implied that they do have the rights to GIJoe and the TF series. Oh, and I picked up my 12" Vader. Sweet. And Mrs Anarky was finally able to get those Legolas & Galadriel Barbies she's wanted forever.

Friday: Got Hasbro exclusives for three fucktards here after Mrs Anarky dealt with the craziest damn line policy ever (I'll tell y'all about it later). Hasbro unveiled some nice stuff, which I'm sure you've all seen by now. I asked about a Teek figure; at least the bug's in their ear now. Saw some more previews. Heard Peter Cullen call on a cellphone to confirm that, JT's complaints notwithstanding, Michael Bay may actually "get it." Star Wars "Spectacular" panel sucked balls, and Celebration IV looks like it will, too. Fucking two more years for the cartoon, and that rat Sansweet didn't even have concept art. Peter Jackson doing an extended cut of King Kong by adding a pathetic fish scene that should've stayed lost. I think he's becoming Lucas: a brilliant filmmaker laid low by yes men.

Saturday: More panels for most of the day. Grindhouse looks to be entertaining as hell, if only to see Rose "I'd do her" McGowan as an amputee with a machine gun prosthetic leg. Frank Miller is doing the Spirit, but nothing to show for it. (And, funny enough, the guy seems really nervous in crowds.) Farted some nasty ass farts in the crowd and blamed them on the guy in front of us. Kevin Smith skipped out on one panel, blaming traffic. Funny, Mrs Anarky came in at that time, and there was no traffic. And my bro-in-law had seen Clerks II at a local theater Friday night and Smith was committed all day there. I smell someone getting fired for fucking his schedule over. He eventually showed and was amusing, as expected. Some cool ass stuff from Pirates II, and a few clips of Pirates III. Chow-Yun Fat kicks ass in any movie where he has a gun or a sword. In this, he will have both, so it theoretically should be the greatest movie ever just so long as a bear shows up somewhere. Ghost Rider looks all right, I love Nick Cage and get wood whenever I see Eva Mendez, but I can't help but think "This guy fucked up Daredevil and A Prayer for Owen Meany more than any other two stories have ever been fucked over," so my hopes are nill for that. Saw clips of the movie that will top TMNT. I've posted some details at wallcrawlersweb.com, but I shat my pants when the mock trailer seemingly ended, then showed Topher Grace on his knees in a church saying, "Please, kill Peter Parker," and then having symbiote drip on him and turn into a fucking astounding Venom. Wow. It still seems surreal. Venom on the fucking big screen, and he looks PERFECT. Kirsten Dunst and Bryce Dallas Howard were there, and, vyn, KD's titties are most definitely not saggy. It was all I could do to keep myself in the seat, as I wanted to rush the stage and suck on them for the rest of the day while taking brief breaks to suck on BDH's. I swear, that girl was fucking homely as shit in The Village and Lady in the Water, but I'd give my left arm to see her naked. Preferably in a lesbian scene with Kirsten. :beard: to the nth degree.

Quote of Saturday: When the cast was asked what superpower they'd like, Thomas Haden Church replied, "I would wreak havoc with corn, and be called the Corn Cob Goblin."

Sunday: Took advantage of the vendors wanting to go home and got me some graphic novels for cheap. Then I went home and posted this shit. After eating supper and watching Deadwood, of course. And now, if you'll excuse me, I've been sleeping on my mother-in-law's couch for a week, and I'd like to get some sumpin-sumpin. :beard:

BTW, I saw Liefeld, but was unable to kick his nuts.

Fucking hilarious, Chux. I'm glad I got to live vicariously through you as Tycho is apparently to sick (and by sick, I mean too busy typing about how sick he is) to post anything.

I love the Comic Con, it was an exciting 3 days even without being there.

They are doing another Mutant Ninja Turtle movie?

Were you there for Hasbro's April Fool's wave announcement? As much as I'd like to see Yarna and the Funeral Pyre Vader, I can't seem to get upset about it. I was more dissapointed at how little OT stuff they showed. Can't really get upset about the Jango-headed OT troops, either. Other than the Cantina Bad, I don't see any reason to buy the tins. If they want to make someone with a removeable helmet, why not that Endor Rebel in Biker Scout disguise from the fan's choice poll?

The Imperial Officer set looks nice, and I'm glad they are re-releasing Kitak (whatever). And I'll buy whatever paint variation astromech they throw out there. I'm sure this is only the first of many re-paints for R5-D4.

Did they ever show the Transformers trailer? I thought they were supposed to show one at some point. I saw an interview with Michael Bay. He said they were overwelmed with how many e-mails they got asking for Peter Cullen to be the voice of Optimus Prime.

I saw part of a live broadcast from ComicCon Friday. They only Hasbro things they showed were convention exclusives. Looks like half of the attendees were dressed in some sort of cosutme. My daughter was watching some of it with me and she was asking who all of them were. She's been on a big superhero kick lately. I did my best, but I couldn't identify all of them. There is supposed to be a weekend summary show today on G4.

The thing about the Spider3 exhibit, is that I was IN LINE and my friend was in the main hall and he was in line for the Signed exclusive Iron Man teaser poster. And Jon Favreau ended up signing one for my friends infant son AND his wife, so he got three posters. I could have waited in line and then used the old "Hey we got a baby. we can't stand outside in 100 degree heat with him" ploy to get them to the front of the line where I had waited patiently for twenty minutes. But nope. i missed out.

*BUMP*

I'm pretty excited about being able to go this year. My wife is turning it into a "let's see how much money we can give to Disney" vacation, but that's cool.

I didn't know the pre-registration was so damn pricey. From what Chux says, the $100 is money well spent, but thats alot of rubles to be spending between the two of us.

I've been PMing with Chux about the whys and wherefores about the whole shebang. If anyone else has any useful info, please feel free to pass it along. :)

No shit, you are going too? ME and my wife were looking at prices the last few days. We found some really good package deals on hotles and flights. Look around.

What you mean preregister? Buy in tickets in advance?

comic-com.org has the info (Thanks to Chux for the linky)

My wife was looking at Disney packages and our flight, hotel accommodations and rental car for 4 days would run us about $3,500.00, which I thought was quite reasonable.

I swear I had this conversation with Solo the other day about you asking for the exclusives. So we need to meet up, Solo, Anarky, and myself. Even EP if he gets there.
