I was looking over the list of the GI Joe figures as they came out (on that site we all got in trouble on back in the day... remember that hilarity? :P ), and I think I could have an awesome collection of vintage Joes that would be 25 figures. JJ's essentials:

Breaker
Stalker
Short Fuse
Flash
Rock 'N Roll (needless to say, all my "originals" would have the infinitely superior swivel arm battle grip feature - it rocked)

Airborne
Snow Job

Blowtorch
Mutt & Junkyard
Ripcord

Beach Head
Barbecue
Dusty
Snake Eyes with Timber
Flint

Cobra Commander (cowl)
Destro
Baroness
Major Bludd
Firefly
Stormshadow
Cobra Officer
Cobra Soldier
Snow Serpent
Eels

Honourable Mentions:

Zartan and the first 3 dreadnoks - tough to chop them, but it had to be done.
Snake Eyes (1st version)
Shipwreck
Recondo
Lady Jaye
Lowlight

You'd have Major Bludd before Zartan?

I have to go above calling Shenanigans and go straight to Douche.

I call Douche.

Same goes for having Barbecue instead of either Torpedo or Wetsuit.

Wetsuit I don't think I ever had, so I can't comment - but Torpedo was not a good figure - the whole 2nd wave of Joe (minus Airborne and Snow Job) were douches. Doc had green shades and NO BACKPACK for fuck sakes!!!!

Oh, and I didn't want Zartan without the first 3 Dreadnoks to go with him - any douche (including me) knows he's a far superior figure to Major Bludd. 8)

I'd like a Zartan smiley.

Wetsuit was my first Joe. He was borrowed from a friend and I never had his full gear, just him and his flippers. But the detail on his wetsuit was awesome.

And good god, man. You HAVE to have a SEAL on the team.

SEALs are totally righteous, no doubts there, but any good commando looking dude could be a SEAL - for example:

this dude could be played by Beach Head.

The only semantics are the weapons - and I'm not a big enough gun geek to go worrying about whether he's got an M16 or the shorter Colt Carbine.

Yeah, Jesus..... I must have been on the pipe.

I wound up moving some stuff around when I looked and realized I didn't have the Snow Serpent and Eels on there - those are two of my favorite figures from that line, along with Snake Eyes II.

I never had Beach Head, but he's awesome. Needs to be there, so I'm going to have to edit out someone.

How about that fuck Blowtorch? I'm sorry, nobody goes into battle wearing bright yellow and red. 'cept a 'tard.

I know that, EP (you judgmental bastard!!!!) but Blowtorch had awesome detailing and wicked accessories. I loved him all geared up, and would have to include him in a collection if I was going to try and re-obtain a few old Joes.

Sigh.

When will the unwashed heathens realize that samurai and ninja are two very different things?

I wash my hands of the whole thing. I shall infiltrate the evil terrorist organization known as Hasbro to discover who has defamed my name and enact revenge.

When are the 25th Ann figures supposed to come out? There was one false report of them hitting TRU up here, which caused me to do a bunch of stops there that I wouldn't have done otherwise. :frus:

Last I heard, the official date was summer, so I figure in late April they'll start showing up.

Have they announced a Wave 2 yet? There was an email from BBTS or EE that said something about a wave 2, but didn't have any details.
