Because that's Leafs' center Nik Antropov's first name. :beard:

Thanks, I thought maybe it was a Slik reference...I'm not familiar with the Leaves roster.

The only thing that comes to mind for agonizing pain is having my joints drained of fluid.
And yes, it is as gross and painful as you can imagine.

For those that don't know, I have Rheumatoid Arthritis (found out I had it just before senior year, Summer 1995). I've had many problems with my joints over the years - hand, elbows, wrists, ankles, knees - the works, and for a while there my knees and elbows would gather fluid, swelling the twice their normal size, causing tremendous pain and making life in general a motherfucker. (BTW, I'm doin' very well now with the meds I'm currently on)
After a few weeks of dealing with the constant pain of a swollen joint you'll go through just about any pain just make it go away. And the doctor does...with a big fucking needle and an anesthetic that works in the sense that you don't feel the needle going into you knee. Once that needle hits a certain point, all bets are off. It feels like it is crammed in there, twisting and turning and scraping the insides of your knee. It only last a few minutes but it feels like hours.
Then he injects some Cortisone in there and it feels all cool, like your knee just ate a tasty mint.

One time I had so much fluid on my knee the syringe filled up and the doc had to pop the plunger part out and keep draining it into a paper cup!

And the fluid looked like really thick chicken broth. Tasty!

Thats some sick shit. *gag*
"Once there were brook trout in the streams in the mountains. You could see them standing in the amber current where the white edges of their fins wimpled softly in the flow. They smelled of moss in your hand. Polished and muscular and torsional. On their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps and mazes. Of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again. In the deep glens where they lived all things were older than man and they hummed of mystery."

Yeah, Jesus.... I didn't know that about you, RB. My wife is currently worrying about some nagging pain in her hands and arms... she's scared shitless of arthritis because her grandfather had it really, really bad. :(

I'm VERY glad to hear that there are meds that can really help it nowadays.

Yeah, Remicade ain't bad if you don't mind sitting in a room getting an IV with a bunch of old women for 3 hours once every 8 weeks.
Hell, the payoff is worth it. I have no real side effects, except for the a day or so of moderate muscle pain. And I'm even on 1/3 my daily prescribed pain meds, which is just Ibuprofen anyway.
The shit is expensive though - over $3,000 per infusion (Thank God for insurance).

The last 2 meds I was on didn't do shit or made me sicker than hell, so I'm happy now.

Over ten years ago when we went to Tunisia to shoot Episode I, our sets were demolished by a sandstorm. I was devastated, definitely in a crisis mode, but George kept his calm and pointed out it was a good sign since the same thing happened on the set of the original Star Wars. He was right about that omen, Episode I went on to become the most successful grossing film in the entire series.

Actually, "A New Hope" is, after being adjusted for inflation, of course.

Funny you should mention that, because one of our homework problems in my economics class the other night had us adjusting movies to the current consumer price index (Episode IV is over a billion dollars, btw).

Speaking of pain, I get a stomach ache whenever I watch AOTC. ROTS just gives me a headache and some depression.
