I believe they're widely available on ebay for dirt cheap prices - in lots of 10, 20 or 100.... but I haven't looked for them in AGES.
EDITED: Yep, still there in droves. Chiggity check it:

Sweet. A few of mine a pretty loose.
I looked into fixing the Hovercraft. The fans on mine are the most screwed up part. It's a fairly common problem, so fixing is kinda expensive.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
How much work do you reckon it'd be to make a custom Snake Eyes?

I'm thinking any Snake Eyes figure, with a headswap from the Fred Crimson Guard. The hair is the right color and length. Etch in the scars and repaint the swollen eye. Then apply some paint to the scars.
Does that sound like too much work for something that'll look like shit, or does it seem feasible?

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
I could do it in maybe 2-4 hours total including repainting, it should be possible using a hot knifeblade or pin or something to melt the scars in so as to look real good, just don't do it inside and test it one something you don't care about. You'd have to kinda carve out the eye to make it look really right tho, and matching the skin-tone without repainting the whole damn head would be tough

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
It's not dead; just resting.
I'm wondering if this mold would be good for an unmasked Snake Eyes. I don't normally customize my only figure of any one sculpt or variation. However, this Snake Eyes comes in a set with three Red Ninjas and a totally unique Red Ninja Commander. I haven't gotten it, since I don't have much use for "Commando Snake Eyes with Green Pants." But this could be a good use for the figure, especially since it's his original costume (when he was scarred the worst, presumably) and the green pants make it seem a bit "casual."
I know it'd be some work, but this seems like one custom that'd be worth the effort and that there's zero chance of ever actually getting from Hasbro. (If they make an unmasked one, I'm sure it'll be "post-op.")

The real trick will be getting his hair that God-awful, horrid dye-job-gone-sideways blonde.

I'm betting it's just the name. There was a character named Tracker. Probably a trademark dispute, and they thought it'd be cute to use the Matt Trakker spelling.

Go to hasbrotoyshop.com NOW!!
I just preordered both DVD sets, the Armadillo vs Serpentor, and the VAMP, and ordered the Cobra Legions (finally). Strangely, the HISS and Trouble Bubble were still unavailable.
Do not limit the search to only 25th Anniversary items, or they don't show up for some odd reason.
If you're a AAA member, log in through aaa.com to get a discount.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
Did you see the SDCC Exclusive of Cobra Commander? Does it come with that podium thingie? Because that would be cool.
EDIT. I saw another pic in packaging. It DOES come with the podium.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
Interesting. What exactly is that from? He's used a Cobra podium many times, but I'm trying to recall him ever wearing a suit, no gloves, and his hood.
It is damned cool, though.
I would think for COMIC-Con, a more appropriate exclusive would be an exclusive that's easily recognizable as from the comic. Like maybe Cobra Commander without his hood (but with a bandana and hat, or beret and sunglasses and fake moustache).

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
I kinda took it as a "I'm just getting started as a tyrannical terrorist" look. Like when he was rousing up rabble in slummy biker bars across the country. I think it looks kinda cool. But again, I don't collect these things. However if any you sumbitches want one, let me know so I can start planning...

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
Jumping back, Hasbro confirmed that Trakker is the MASK character.
I must say, "What the fuck?"
They'll make non-Joe characters from a toyline and cartoon that SUCKED ASS, but not make the fucking Billy people have asked for for TWENTY YEARS???
These guys are morons.
BTW, I'm definitely passing on Flint in Cobra disguise and Pilot Scarlett. They never happened. They're made-up bullshit. The only "cartoon only" figure I bought, or will buy, is Movie Duke. I was going to pass on him, but he really does look frigging cool.
I take that back. I will buy a Breakdancing Snake Eyes if they ever make him. Or maybe Cobra Commander as "Old Snake" from the Transformers cartoon.
