caught blades of glory last night. i thought it had its moments, but it wasn't up to my expectations. though simply the idea of a male/male partners skating team is hilarious...

I watched Man on Fire last night. I love this movie. Denzel Washington is a monster!
"Once there were brook trout in the streams in the mountains. You could see them standing in the amber current where the white edges of their fins wimpled softly in the flow. They smelled of moss in your hand. Polished and muscular and torsional. On their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps and mazes. Of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again. In the deep glens where they lived all things were older than man and they hummed of mystery."

Is he as badass as he was in Training Day? I swear, that movie gave me a new appreciation of his talent, which I already respected quite a bit. Mrs A and I figured it was a shitty generic cop movie until it got all those Oscar nominations, so we rented it and were totally blown away.

Re: What have you watched lately?
No shit! I watched it last night too! I had never seen it before, and my friend lent it to me because this is one of his favorite movies. I liked it a lot. Denzel isn't as badass as he was in "Training Day", but I still enjoyed it. Part of the reason I liked it so much was because I'm a sucker for revenge movies. And Christopher Walken was in it, which is always a plus.UKWildcat wrote:I watched Man on Fire last night. I love this movie. Denzel Washington is a monster!

Ooooh, Denzel! That boy is fine, I tell you. I touch myself all sorts of ways when I watch his movies. Now, if y'all will excuse me, I have to go, uh, powder my nose.

Re: What have you watched lately?
Finally saw Mr Bean's Holiday tonight.
I see what you meant, Diabolical, about the first one. I always sorta assumed it was so different from the show because they had to change up the formula to make a feature film. Whereas this is a feature film that, aside from a more cohesive plot, is pretty close to an extended episode of the show. And a hell of a lot better.
I wish they made more movies like this and Speed Racer--movies that are just good fun, ones that can be enjoyed by kids, but actually are good movies and can attract and entertain adults on their own merits, without feeling the need to shoehorn in masturbation jokes or crotch shots. Masturbation jokes have their place; American Pie wouldn't be the classic it is without them. But they don't fucking work in Transformers.
Fuck you, Michael Bay. Every time I think of how bad that movie was, I want to kick your face in. Not because it's a shitty movie that's based on a good idea. No, just because it's a shitty movie.

I was dragged out to the movies by my friends tonight. We saw "You Don't Mess With The Zohan". Fucking gay-ass movie. And boring as shit, too. I would much rather have seen "Kung Fu Panda".
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.

Speaking of revenge movies, have you ever seen Thriller: A Cruel Picture, starring Christina Lindberg? :love:Double_G wrote:No shit! I watched it last night too! and I've been meaning to take down Kill Bill Vols 1 and 2 in the near future.
Last night I watched one of the greatest movies of all time, again. I've been watching this movie a lot lately. But probably no where near as much as Sleazer in his prime... The Big Lebowski mother fuckers!

Suck it again Grimlock!

I wasn't expecting spectacular things from this movie, but because Judd Apatow had his hand in it (Writer), I was hoping it was going to be somewhat good. So this news of yours GG, is disappointing.Double_G wrote:I was dragged out to the movies by my friends tonight. We saw "You Don't Mess With The Zohan". Fucking gay-ass movie. You're telling me. And I was one of the five people who actually enjoyed "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry", so I was shocked at how disappointed I was with "Zohan".UKWildcat wrote:I wasn't expecting spectacular things from this movie, but because Judd Apatow had his hand in it (Writer), I was hoping it was going to be somewhat good.
