Watched Tron again the other night. Hadn't seen it in awhile, but the leaked footage of TR2N made me nostalgic.
I watched Superbad again. Funny shit.
Saw the new X-Files movie. Gads that sucked.
Saw Pineapple Express. Not a big fan of stoner flicks, but there were some pretty funny non-sequiter rants.

One of the titular (pun completely intended) women was killed by none other than Phil Spector.anarky wrote:Caught the last half (about) of Amazon Women on the Moon. I normally don't tune into movies I've not seen in the middle, but figured this was skits, so there wasn't a plot, so it wouldn't hurt. It wasn't bad, but not nearly as funny as The Kentucky Fried Movie. Most jokes either didn't quite go far enough, or went way too far. One skit of Ed Begley Jr as the son of the Invisible Man (who thinks he's invisible and runs around naked) was fucking hilarious, but the rest was only "pretty amusing."
Don "No Soul" Simmons cracks me up every time.

I love Amazon Women On the Moon.

i've watched 'finding nemo' probably about 20 times in the past few days. it's the little one's favorite movie. she wakes up at 3am saying 'neeemoooo... neeeeeeeemoooooooo". she also loves fraggle rock ("frock") and simpsons, though she doesn't know how to say that one yet. she just grabs it off the shelf and brings it over.
Life is short. STUNT IT!

But not as offensive as Catholic School Girls in Trouble!

You guys have gotta check out "Tropic Thunder". Between this and "Iron Man", Robert Downey Jr. has jumped into my favorite actors list. He's a riot in this one. Want a fun day at the movies? Watch this and "Pineapple Express" back to back.
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.
Re: What have you watched lately?
I like some Robert Downey Jr. I love his line in Zodiac; "This can no longer be ignored"
He is good peeps.
I watched I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry last night for the first time. It was okay, better than I was anticipating. The scene with Rob Schneider and the "doll-hairs" had me in stitches! Jessica Biel was fucking smokin' hot throughout.

"Once there were brook trout in the streams in the mountains. You could see them standing in the amber current where the white edges of their fins wimpled softly in the flow. They smelled of moss in your hand. Polished and muscular and torsional. On their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps and mazes. Of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again. In the deep glens where they lived all things were older than man and they hummed of mystery."

Re: What have you watched lately?
In my film class, we'll be watching different movies every Wednesday. First up is *retch* West Side Story, which I didn't like when I saw it in an LA class a few years ago. But we'll be moving on to better ones, I hope . . .
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Re: What have you watched lately?
For a while, my father decided to rent "classic" movies from the 50s and 60s. So, sometime in the 80s I saw it...on VHS. I don't remember much about the film at all other than the basic plot.

I loved it when it didn't have all the singing, and was set in Verona hundreds of years ago. Shakespeare's estate or descendants (if there are any) should get paid every time that some movie rips off one of his plays.

I'm sure it's easy to track down descendants of people who might not have even existed.anarky wrote:I loved it when it didn't have all the singing, and was set in Verona hundreds of years ago. I want to watch for the racist-ass make-up, since the first time, I didn't know the Puerto Rican characters were just white actors in . . . uh . . . brownface (?).

Re: What have you watched lately?
But William "Billy Bob" Shakespeare did exist, and there's pretty much no question as to that. The question is whether he wrote all (or even any) of the plays he's credited with writing.
Yesterday morning, HBO was playing one of those "Fill-in-the-blank Shitty Movies," in this case, Epic Movie. As I've never seen any of these (aside from Scary Movie, which is quite funny and is unfortunate to have had its title ripped off by so many ripe turds), I tuned in. I saw about ten minutes, first of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory parody, then of The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe parody. It was astoundingly unfunny. I didn't even crack a smile, and I'm normally the guy falling out of my chair over stuff no one else finds amusing. Yes, these are every bit as fucking bad as the commercials make them look.

Re: What have you watched lately?
I also saw about five minutes of Epic Movie on HBO the other day, which was just about all I could stand.
Yesterday, I'm not quite sure why, but I ended up watching The Breakfast Club. I saw it years ago and didn't care for it. Even with Judd Nelson (that dude is harsh) I still don't like it.

I hate the Breakfast Club. It's like being in detention. It was really popular amongst the kids back in its day, but take away the bratpack, and nobody would have sat through it, I'm convinced!
