How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

I'm glad Pushing Daisies is on ABC and not Fox. ABC gets a show that is unique, gets a ton of praise, has a rabid fanbase, and actually wins several Emmies. What do they do? They keep it on the air and hype it more than they did the previous year, knowing they can build an audience. It can't go on that way forever, but they've got enough sense to know it can't go anywhere but up as long as they keep the formula and team intact, and there's a good chance it will. What does Fox do? They put out a press release stating that Arrested Development will be replaced by some new Seth "I'm stretching myself way too thin" McFarlane crap or a reality show that no one wants to see.

I THINK HE'S IMPLYING THAT SINCE HIS PRECIOUS TV SHOW GOT ITS ASS HANDED TO IT BY BONES, OLD CHRISTINE AND DEAR GOD, THE UNHOLY KNIGHT RIDER, THE POWERS THAT BE AT ABC ARE HESITANT ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE SHOW AND EVERYBODY IN HIS OFFICE IS ON EDGE.

I almost hate to say it, but I actually like tonight's episode.

No Dooku or Ventress, the story was pretty good, Ahsoka wasn't nearly as annoying as she usually is, and I loved seeing R2 fight R3.
It is good to see they aren't forgetting Artoo (and Threepio...when available) like they do everywhere else outside the movies.

And next week looks like it may be even better - An adventure starring Jar Jar and Threepio! Based on the series preview on the CW DVD, the episode looks pretty funny.

I knew you'd come around eventually.

I thought tonight's episode was fantastic. Last week's was kind of off, but this one made up for it. I was almost getting burned out with all the Grievous recently, but he got to be a serious fucking badass tonight.

Hopefully the Jar Jar episode will be good. It looked pretty funny in a Bugs Bunny sort of way, and Ahmed Best is back, which is sweet.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Liking one episode out of seven isn't coming around.

I laughed a few times at the preview for next week's episode during the preview on the DVD, so I'm glad I get to see it soon.

It's a start. :P

I've been looking forward to Lair of Grievous for a while now (it's the one where Kit Fisto and Grievous fight and we see more of Grievous's backstory, or at least, y'know, his lair).

The Gungan General? I always wanted them to expand on Jar Jar's role as a general. In the Clone Wars, generals are Jedi . . . and it's only a few episodes after the first Jar Jar-centric one, so I really don't know.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

DB, if you don't like it, why'd you buy the DVD?

I saw last night's episode (I guess they re-run them later) and was unimpressed still. Anakin and Ahsoka still bug the shit out of me.

What was it this time? I thought their interaction was more "natural" last night and is continuing to get better.

And was there nothing at all that you liked in it? Come on, Grievous was cool as shit last night.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Grievous was well-done, and I actually was impressed by some of the facial expressions various characters showed (especially Ahsoka biting her lip while skydiving--nice detail). But Ahsoka is annoying as hell, even in small doses, and Anakin is like a wooden caricature of himself. And the Battle Droids bug the fuck out of me.
