Yes it was! It was that exact one! And I did put it in my ass. Well, technically mule. I was trying to recreate the 'Amazing Pig Terd Journey' but with LOTR instead of Star Wars since SW sucks pointy dicks now, and LOTR is kewl. Except I did it backwards and stuck the figure in the mule's butt hoping it would work its way through and he'd vomit it out. But he just farted instead and turned the Bilbo into Cruisemissile Bilbo. It hit Dell Rusk in the eye as he was walking by across the street. That's why he's been wearing an eyepatch recently. That shit about him being a Pirate is a bunch of bullshit.

Triple Post Grimmy! Suck a wheelbarrow full of dicks!
I got the 20th and final Wave of DC Universe Classics from UPS today. It had Hawk, Dove, Red Arrow, Green Arrow, Sinestro, White Lantern Flash, and Reverse Flash.
With a CnC Nekron. Because Nekron was the fan choice vote from like 18 months ago when everybody had raging hardons for all things Blackest Night. Now nobody gives a shit. Personally I voted for Wildebeest.
Anyway, DCUC ends and is replaced with some 'kid friendly' line featuring DCnU figures. And also the Matty Subscription starts in April. But this was it for the line that started way back in 2006.
I'm stoked I got Hawk & Dove and Reverse Flash. The GA is the hooded Mike Grell version, as we'd already got the Robon Hood cap style a couple years ago. And the Sinestro is like the fifth one they made. This is the Sinestro Corp version in the correct height. The previous one was a midget and everybody bitched. WL Flash is them just milking both the Flash sculpt and the BN story one last time.

Re: So, what toys did you buy or get this week?
It's a triple post because you're the only one finding shit.
I take that back. On Friday, I used R Us Rewards and a BOGO coupon to get two Star Wars figures. Quinlan Vos I haven't opened yet; despite my initial annoyance when the figure debuted (since he more or less stole the ongoing SW series from Ki-Adi Mundi, who was the bee's balls in 1999 and 2000, before they came up with the "no marriage" bullshit and got rid of his awesome purple lightsaber), I grew to love the character. Sure, I'd prefer a perfect Qui-Gon, but there will shortly be two new ones simultaneously, so I want to compare them.
And I got the new Vintage Battle Droid. Now, I'm almost as Battle Droided out as I am Clonetroopered out. Difference is, I fucking love Battle Droids, no matter how much they want to milk the various sculpts, and have wanted a really awesome BD in the proper tan (not the dipshit red with yellow targets) color scheme. In most ways, it's a massive improvement over the past ones. Only it comes with an interchangeable comm relay--either you get the classic TPM backpack, or you get the simple antennas that no non-commander tan BD used as far as I can recall. So not sure if they'll do a running change to red, since they insist they're done with running changes and keep doing them anyway. (I've seen the Movie Heroes BD in both tan and red at WM.) But the real issue: the backpack doesn't have a slot for his blaster! WTF? This isn't some dipshit "store the weapon!" gimmick Hasbro concocted; it's right there in the fucking movie! One of the most classic scenes of the movie, not some barely-noticeable background shot!
Which brings me to the other reason I didn't get Qui-Gon instead of Quinlan (and shouldn't have gotten the BD in retrospect, except that he's still fucking awesome because BD's are fucking awesome and I can't get too mad at one that's an improvement in other respects): I truly believe, as "George Bush is a child molesting reptoid alien" conspiracy theory bullshit as it sounds, that Hasbro will never make completely perfect versions of the core characters. Background characters usually get nailed in one take. Main characters are never quite right. They keep making new sculpts of them, but every single one is an improvement over the previous versions except for one detail that often is actually a step backwards. How many Jedi Lukes have there been? What's the best one? Now, what's still wrong with that one? Same question, Tatooine Luke. And ANH Han. And AOTC Anakin. And every other possible variation of a main character. It really is like they refuse to make them perfect. Because they know collectors will keep buying versions they perceive as better, so once they nail it, they can't improve it and sell more.

Yeah, I'm not finding much either. The weekend before last, we bought a bunch of the new wave of Lego Minifigures from TRU to use the rewards cash.
My wife also bought me Luke's Tauntaun in the vintage box from Target. It was only $7.50, so I guess it was worth it. She called me to ask me if I wanted it, it was noisy and I couldn't quite hear her. I thought she said Lego Wampa, which I saw on clearance at Target the week before.
I'm trying to decide what to do about the current GI Joe wave. No one seems to be stocking it, except for Walgreens. I'm considering 2 options: Buy Lifeline from Walgreens for $11 (if I can find it), then hope the other figures I want show up somewhere eventually. Or, wait another couple weeks until our tax return shows up and buy the 12 figure case from Hasbro for $85.

3 EPI figures - the 2 podracers & Daultay Dofine. My question is this: why does the Naboo Royal Guard have "first character figure appearance" sticker on it when that figure is so clearly a remake of the one from the EPI line? The lack of goatee doesn't count in my mind.

Re: So, what toys did you buy or get this week?
I stopped by the Walmart near my office today. They had a ton of stuff on clearance. Most of the Marvel line 4" figures were $5 Thing, Dr. Strange, Wolverine, and a bunch of other characters. The larger Marvel line was also on clearance, as well as some DC figures. I recognized a few DC names from Super Friends, like Black Vulcan, some of the other characters sounded just plain silly. "Captain Boomerang"? Really?
Deluxe Captain America figures were $9, which still seemed too much. The two GI Joe figures they had were $5, but it was Renegades Firefly and Cobra Commander. They Red HISS and that Cobra plane were "marked down" to $20.
I grabbed Darkhawk from the Marvel line. I didn't read that many comic books in my younger days, but for some reason, I read a bunch of his. I think I still have most, if not all of the first 15-20 books in his series at my parent's house. If I remember correctly, Spiderman was in a bunch of them.

A lot of WMs stuff is "marked down" by about a dollar or two. Laughable. I'm waiting to see if the bigass Sentinels drop down a bit more and then snag a couple. Ditto the Young Justice figures. And they have a bunch of Alien Conquest Lego sets that need to drop more before I'll bite.

Re: So, what toys did you buy or get this week?
The Sentianls were marked down to $40. There were also 2 Marvel 4 packs, Fantastic 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy, for $15 each. I use the term "4 pack" lightly because there were 4 characters in the box, but a couple of them were so small, they may as well have been accessories. The Fantastic 4 replaced the Human Torch with the robot that looks like he came from the old NES.
I think I have all of the Alien Conquest Legos except for the alien mothership.

The Robot in the FF box is H.E.R.B.I.E. who replaced Johnny Storm in the 1960s FF cartoon because studio execs didn't want kids trying to emulate the Human Torch by self immolating. He's been kind of an "in joke" character ever since and often shows up in the comics as a background character at the Baxter Building. They also made a Marvel Legend of him in an FF Boxset from Toybiz around 2004.

I guess that makes sense. Care to explain how a racoon is used to guard the galaxy?

Don't diss on Rocket Racoon! He's the awesome little foul mouthed comic relief of the GotG. Him and Groot were the best things about that series before it got cancelled.

Oh, c'mon, Rollo. I expected another disciple of Comics Should Be Good to know that's an urban myth and it was really because the likeness and name of the Human Torch had been licensed to another studio or channel or something.Rollo Tomassi wrote:The Robot in the FF box is H.E.R.B.I.E. who replaced Johnny Storm in the 1960s FF cartoon because studio execs didn't want kids trying to emulate the Human Torch by self immolating. I know. But I like the immolation story better, and Ran didn't know any better.
