Here's what I got for groundhog's day.
Captain America 14. Wonderful conclusion to the Winter Soldier arc. I'm glad they left Bucky alive at the end. Making the decision to bring him back after all this time only to kill him off after one arc would've been disastrous. And the chilling revelation on the last page left me giggling with anticipation. Brubaker rocks.
Defenders 5. End of the series. On the whole I was kind of letdown. As far as Giffen, Dematteis, and Maguire's schtick goes, it's entertaining enough. But it was much more effective when it was out of left field. Back when they did the JLA it was infinitley entertaining to see the stoic, serious heroes turned into bickering jerks who could barely save the world. But if you know whats coming going into the series, its just tired.
Punisher 30. End of The Slavers arc. Fuck, Frank is a cold blooded bastard. I bet his heart rate didn't go over 65 while he watched that dude burn. And then he sent the other fucker off to certain death at the hands of the Russian mafia. Slick.
Rann-Thanagar War Special. The introduction of Kyle Rayner as Ion, which is sort of the next gen Green Lantern.
Snake-Eyes Declassified 6. Kind of a ho hum last issue, simply because no real new ground was covered. I've read that story of Snake Eyes joining GI Joe already. I swear at a few intervals I thought I was even looking at the same layout on the page as the original comics. I realize this is introducing Snakes to a whole new generation of readers who can't track down the old Marvel series, but SOME fresh take or insight would've been appreciated. The only cool thing was seeing StormShadow inducted into COBRA. "I know for certain that you have affected my life in many ways." Chilling foreshadowing for whats to come.
Nighthawk 6. Awesome conclusion. Awesome. please, please, please make this an ongoing MAX series.
Uncanny X-Men 469. Sigh. I broke down and got this cause Billy Tan drew a cool cover. I've skipped the last couple issues, but if Brubaker is coming on board soon, there's no sense in having a two issue gap in my run.

Fuckity fuck - no Nighthawk 6 at my store!!!! I'll have to go elsewhere it looks like, what a pain in the balls. I bought:
Captain America 14
Wolverine 38
Spidey/Black Cat 6
X-Men Deadly Genesis 3
Uncanny 469
FF 534
But I'd gladly put them all back for 2 weeks if I could just read the end of Nighthawk today!!!!

I didn't buy Hulk either. So nyeah. here's what I did get.
Ghost Rider 6. Conclusion. Nothing spectacular happens. Good solid artwork throughout the story, but kind of bland when I got to the end. I will definitely be on the lookout for more Clayton Crain stuff.
G.I.Joe 8. The grieving issue. With the "shocking" ending. His body has dissappeared??!? Awesome cover. Stormshadow is such a badass.
JLA 125. End of the series. Really, it went out an a weak story arc.
Punisher: Bloody Valentine. Reading a MK Punisher book is like watching the Godfather edited for television. Why didn't they just put this out in the MAX line and show some blood and boobies?
Teen Titans 32. Basically a different version of the Superboy smackdown from Infinite Crisis 4. I hate rereading stories.
Transformers 2. This book is picking up speed. Awesome hijinks in the Autobot ranks as Prowl, Sunstreaker and Ironhide show up to give Ratchet a talking to.
Young Avengers 10. This book is constantly adding layers to its characters. Hulkling is the love child of a Skrull princess and Captain Marvel?? Awesome. This is the Marveliest Marvel book out right now. Besides New Avengers. Highly recommended.
X-Men 182. Ugh. So much for my X-book sabbatical. But when Apocalypse is staring you down on the cover, you gotta buy it.

I only bought Hulk 92 and 198 #2. Slow week, and still no sign of Nighthawk #6 :shakes head:
This whole "Planet Hulk" thing they've been hyping is off to a pretty slow start. Lotta issues left though, so I hope it gets going.
JLA is over? Man, DC isn't afraid to slash titles, are they? I know another company that should buy into that.

A solid week of entertainment this week. Light, but solid.
N'Avengers 16. The start of a new story arc with nary an Avenger in the whole issue, not counting a little video showdown between Tony Stark and Nuevo SHIELD Director Hill. But still, some major shit happens and I'll talk more about that in the Marvel U topic.
Batman: Gotham Knights 74. I picked this up because it was the last issue of the series. A three way showdown between Bats, Joker, and Hush that once again raises the hypothetical of how many deaths is Batman responsible for because he doesn't kill the Joker. Leads directly into Batman leaving Gotham for a year (See whole Infinite Crisis/One Year Later/52 mega crossover for details)
Batgirl 73. Ditto this one. last issue. Cassandra Cain hangs up the bat duds. Oh. And also breaks her own mom's neck. Lady Shiva. Way to go Cass!
Daredevil 82 ( so much for the dual numbering thing). Brubaker seemlessly picks up where Bendis left off. Brubaker is the new Bendis, people. Between this, Captain America, and X-Men Deadly Genesis, he's rocking the Marvel U. Matt Murdock is in prison, there's someone else running around Hell's Kitchen in Red Tights and Foggy gets shivved on the way back form a meeting at Ryker's. Awesome stuff!!
Justice 4. Aside from the beautiful painting, this series finally kicks into high gear with this issue. The dastardly scheme of the villains finally comes together. Great reading. The first few issues were kinda slow, but read as a whole, I think story will blow socks off. I actually recommend it as a TPB.
X-Men Deadly Genesis 4. Professor X is becoming the douche bag of the Marvel U. Seriously, if Erik Lensherr wasn't such an extremist, most of the X-Men would've left Charlie along time ago. It seems every month something new tumbles out of his closet that makes him more amd more despicable. PS Written by Brubaker, who as I mentioned above, rocks it.

Huge week! I am ashamed at how much I spent.
ASM 529. The debut of the SpIron Man. It looks a lot sleeker in Garney's art than in those promotional shots from a few months ago. Still sucks though, just sucks slightly less as I start getting used to it. Still sucks though.
Batman 650. Final showdown between Jason Todd, Batman, and the Joker. Pretty intense stuff leading into One Year Later.
Captain America 15. Focuses on Crossbones torturing the shit out of Red Skulls daughter, trying to get her to remember she's a super villain.
Catwoman 52. Last issue before One Year Later. Resolves conflict between Selina and Black Mask when she puts a bullet point blank between his eyes. Humph..
Exiles 77. More alternate Universe hijinks as the exiles face off against the Original Squadron Supreme ( as opposed to the new MAX/MK versions). Did I mention that Spider-Man 2099 is now an Exile? Sweet.
New X-Men 23. See I dropped this for a few months and then I got my income tax refund and went back and got all the issues I missed and it's still mediocre. Gah, learn my lesson already!
Supergirl 3,4,5. Ditto with this one. Although Ian Churchill draws some spectacular babes. More on that in the DC topic.
Supreme Power:Hyperion 4. After reading the excellent Nighthawk LS, this one is simply falling short. And I hate weak ass alternate future storylines.
Wolverine 39. Nice little showdown between Logan and Bucky "Winter Soldier" Barnes. Bucky killed Wolvie's wife and unborn son?!? What a DICK!
Wonder Woman 226. Final Issue. Kind of a limp stand alone story. But it did remind me of the time Deodato was drawing the book and Artemis was the new Wonder Woman and Diana was running around in that hot Halter Top outfit when she wasn't WW anymore. Mmmmmmm...
X-Men 183. Apocalypse is back! And he's a dick like always! Good villains need to be dicks. And Gambit is his newest Horseman. Cool.
Astonishing X-Men 13. Hollah! The goodness returns! Logan in the Danger Room was awesome!! "Lights." But the best part was Kitty and Peter. Awwwww......
I also picked up Wizard with all its comicy insider goodness and DCDirect Bane. Who is now on top of my TV breaking Mattel Batman's back.

Anyone this we should move this thread to the Spidey forum?
Atonishing #13 - If only all the X books could be this good. Or if Whedon and Cassaday could do this book forever.
SW: KOTOR #2 - Since Republic is dead, I'm gonna give this one a shot at least for this story arc. I'm not too into this era of SW though.

March 1st.
Batman Annual 25. The mystery of how Jason Todd was ressurected. Pretty cool story actually. It all ties into Infinite Crisis.
Detective Comics 817. One Year Later officially begins. Jim Gordon is commissioner again. The art in this is not good. And if your gonna have one of those dramatic relighting of the Bat Signal because Bats has been gone for a year sequences, you damn better sure not have crappy art lined up.
Green Lantern Corps: Recharge 5. The limited series wraps up with a pretty cool finale. All the Lanterns recharge at the same time and kick the bad guys ass by stuffing a sun back down a black hole. Guy Gardner kicks ass.
Infinite Crisis 5. So much is happening in the DCU its hard to keep track. But this series is so monumental it auto-asskicks.
Ms. Marvel. Carol Danvers trying to get her Super Hero career back on track. The cell phone call to Cap in the middle of a HYDRA battle was funny. And the X-Men villains, the Brood ,show up for a cool cliffhanger ending. I'll try this one out for a few months.
Punisher 31. Start of a new stroyline. Consistent hard ass writing from Ennis. But nothing spectacular.
Uncanny X-Men 470. One of those Claremont "I need to talk to a therapist about being a mutant" issues. God, I'll be glad when he's gone and Brubaker is writing this.
Ultimates 2 10. THE MOST FUCKING AWESOME COMIC OF THE YEAR so far. I SAY FUCKING AWESOME!!!! If this thing kicked you in the sack, your boyz would still be in orbit. HOLY FUCK. Again...AWESOME.

Looks like a light week for me - I'll likely buy Ultimates #10 just based on the hype, and I was planning on checking out Ms Marvel.... other than that, it looks like Uncanny is the only regular book showing up for me this week.
EDITED: Went and bought 2 weeks worth:
Amazing, Sensational and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Ultimates 10
Astonishing and Uncanny X-Men
FF

March 8th. Another light week.
G.I.Joe 9. The Return of Major Bludd. So what's your fave Major Bludd moment ever? From the comics or cartoon. Either one. You Pick. I'm waiting. Still waiting. My point exactly. Honestly, I can't think of any Bludd moments. Ever. What a fucking useless character. PS, my buddy Nate Smith got his letter published in this issue. He's a good guy;hooks me up with Legends at the TRU where he works.
New X-Men 24. I can't think of a reason why I'm still buying this book. It keeps finding its way into my pile every month.
Pulse 14. Final Issue, and suprisingly the best book this week. But of course, its Bendis writing Jessica Jones, so its great.
Teen Titans 33. Some kind of crossover/tie in with Infinite Crisis. I liked Nauck's pencils on Young Justice, but they seemed static and boring when he tries to do standard Super Hero stuff.
Thunderbolts 100!! The book returns to original numbering with its centennial issue. Lots of spectacular shenanigans that don't affect the rest of the Marvel U because this is third stringer book. But Captain "Genis" Marvel dies. Huh? Wha? Who? Exactly my point.
Transformers 3. This book is getting really good! And although I don't like EJ Su's pseudo anime style people, his fucking 'formers rock! That two page spread at the beginning of the book was awesome, and they were just standing around talking...
