March 15th (2 weeks worth)

198 #3
Friendly Neighborhood Spidey #6
Spider-Woman Origin #4

That's it, pretty slow for 2 weeks eh?

I did pop a few books on ebay however, from one seller I managed to finish my Spider-Man Blue and Nighthawk limited series, as well as a few more Captain America (Volume 36 - the Winter Soldier volume) issues, and the complete Marvel Return of the Jedi limited series.

Pretty big week for 3/22.

Amazing Spidey 530. The Road to Civil War. More upsgrades to the new Spider Suit. And Titanium man shows up to start ruckus.

N'Avengers 17. Deodato kicks ass. Bendis kicks ass. Nuff said.

Batman 651. One Year Later. Very cool cover. Story not so much.

Captain America 16. Steve and Sharon Carter GETTIN' IT ON! Bow-chicka- bow-bow...

Catwoman 53. One Year Later. Selina pops out a little girl. And somebody else is Catwoman. Didn't actually read as much as flip through it realy quick. I regret buying it.

Daredevil 83. WHAT THE FUCK??!? Foggy Nelson?!!! That fuckin' bites....

Exiles 78. This story line is getting fucking boring and since I'm moving soon, this one is gonna have to go on the cut list. Damn shame too since I spent most of my ComicCon money last year collecting the entire run.

Robin 148. One Year Later. Soooo Bruce adopted Tim? Do I like this new costume? I can't decide.

Squadron Supreme Hyperion 5. Nice little twist at the end doesn't make up for a weal overall storyline. But it does set the stage nicely for the upcoming storyline for...

Squadron Supreme 1. This is bascially playing catch up for all the new readers who didn't do the first series. So kinda weak. Introduces everybody.

X-Men 184. Why oh why do i keep buying this every month? God the X-men are so fucking boring right now. Gambit is Apocalypse's new horseman Dea...(yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnnn). Seriously.

Teen Titans Annual 1. Superboy and Wondergirl are GETTIN' IT ON. Bow-chicka-bow-bow....

Here's what I got.

N'Avengers: Illuminati. It's too bad we find out about these guys AFTER they disband. Namor kicking Iron Man's ass is worth the price of admission alone. This Civil War thing is getting me really excited.

Captain America 65th Anniversary. Lord knows why I bought this but I did.

Fantastic Four 536. I hate it when the cover is also the last page cliffhanger. Who was in that plane? Hmmm.....

Iron Man 6. (sigh) Iron Man kills the bad guy. And my reading of this book comes to an end.

Superman/Batman 24. And this one is so late and I'm so confused with the storyline that I just don't care anymore. I'll get the next issue, but then DROPPED.

All Star Superman 3. Wow. WOW! Why do I feel like I've read three issues at once? This book is so cool and so...so... SUPERMAN! I know it's confusing to use Superman as an adjective to describe his own book, but if you read it, you'll know exactly what I mean. And Quitely's Lios Lane is so fuckin' HOT. Tell me if you weren't Clark in that full page kiss on the moon shot that your hand wouldn't be drifting south?

Uncanny X-men 471. Uhmmmm...yeah. More boring mutant shit from Claremont with pretty pictures from Billy Tan. The Tan stuff doesn't make up for the Claremont stuff.

X-Men: Deadly Genesis 5. This however is a whole different ballgame. Scott's reaction to his brother informing him that Sean Cassidy was dead was awesome. And that dick, Professor X, finally shows up. Professor X. professional dick. And I don't mean detective. I mean douchebag.

Also got Wizard which had a cool story on Civil War. Exciting!!

Today was the first time I've picked up anything in a few weeks.

The Return of Tag & Bink Special Edition #1 - hilarious and makes more sense than 99% of EU.

Marvel Zombies #1 - the 653rd printing (maybe 654th). Wondered what the hype was about...and it's a pretty interesting story. I like the stand alone stories like this (Powerless was awesome too) and doesn't fit in the regular universe. Hopefully I can find the rest.

ALL STAR SUPERMAN #3
INVINCIBLE #30
SAVAGE DRAGON #124
WALKING DEAD #27

maybe i'll pick up the new avengers:illumiati one-shot, and i'm thinking of dropping FF.

This FF might make you change your mind, Vyn. I think it's going to be a key couple of issues leading up to Civil War. If Dr. Doom gets that hammer, there are going to be issues.

Okay, I'm not un-swearing off Marvel here, but what's the gyst of "Civil War" supposed to be? Feel free to list all the many heroes who will get ignominous death scenes that will piss me off.

I don't know any spoilers, but if you were to hit the Spidey site, you'd see my take on the first 4 issues of Civil War related material.

Basically, "the Illuminati" (big brains of the MU heroes) are split on the issue of the US Gov't forcing heroes to register themselves. Tony and Reed on one side, sounds like Dr. Strange is on the Other, not sure about Prof. X, Black Bolt or Namor.

This is the group that agreed it would be a good idea to shoot Bruce Banner into space (hence the ongoing "Planet Hulk" storyline), and I'm expecting that to lead to some good ol' fashion rampaging Hulk action when he returns to earth. Thor's hammer has turned up as well (with Victor Von Doom trying to take possession of it), but the Thunder God hasn't been seen yet.

It MIGHT turn out to be pretty good.

Civil War. Iron Man and one group of heroes on one side. Captain America and the other heroes against them. When its all over, all the major teams will have new lineups caused by the fallout, deaths, animosity, etc of the storyline. And Marvel is saying that this is gonna be the new way things are in the Marvel U . At least until fanboy bitching causes sales to plummet. It's gonna rock in my book. Remember that whole status quo argument a few months back? This is gonna FUCK UP the status quo. BIG TIME.

For at least a few months.

I'm sorry. I just don't have much faith in Marvel's ability to truly shake things up on a permanent basis.

Punisher #31 - The token slow part of the story, but still a good read.
SW:KOTOR #3 - I'm seriously thinking about dropping this one already.
Marvel Zombies #5 - Now all I need is #2-4.
All Star Superman #1-3 - So...ummm...what is the big deal about this? I like A.S. Batman better.
Civil War Sketchbook - Hey, it was free!

Hmmmm...Usually I have my stack in front of me, but I put them away already. lessee...

Detective Comics 818. Third part of the one year later story. Kind of slipped into business as usual awfully fast. Starting to read like a normal Batman story. They are setting Harvey Dent up to turn him back into Two-Face.

GIJoe 10. Some good ol' fashion Cobra ass kicking this issue. Nice confrontation between Kamakura and Stormshadow. And a neato cliff hanger. It won't last, but it's an inriguing idea for an issue or three at least.

Hulk 92 and 93. If this Planet Hulk thing is gonna be as big as everyone is saying, I guess I better get in at the beginning instead of kicking myself and buying $10 issues a year from now.

Infinite Crisis 6. HUGE SHENANIGANS in the DC Universe and a "shocking" death. I say that in quotes because it occured to me as it was unfolding that Wizard "teased" me about it several months ago and I wasn't as shocked as I should have been. But it was a very touching final page.

Moon Knight 1. Awesome David Finch art and a REALLY COOL twist at the end. I suggest this issue at least as recommended reading.

OMAC IC Special. Setting up the new Checkmate book from DC. Not bad. not great, but not bad.

Punisher 32. Hah. Barracuda is like the Juggernaut, Bitch. Except in the Punisher Universe. "Bitch, if you ain't dead you best start sucking mah dick..." Arts kinda gimpy this story arc, though.

Pulse 12 and 13. I figured since it ended with issue 14 last month theres no reason not to have a complete run of the series. And I love superhero comics that are just about people talking about being superheros where no actual world saving happens. That awkward moment after Spider-man talks about the Scarlet Witches children was THE funniest thing I read this month. Maybe this year.

Teen Titans 34. One Year Later. Wendy and Marvin? WENDY AND MARVIN??! Oh, fuck you DC. Fuck you very very much. Seriously, fuck you.

Wolverine 40. Hmmmmm. Must've skipped this last week.

Young Avengers. WOW! This book just takes a total left turn every issue. It is just so cool and steeped in Marvel U lore. This book will never "get where it's going" and it is going to be the funnest ride getting there.
