I thought Brock died of cancer several years back during MK Spider-Man?

My recollection is spotty, but I think he was cured when he received the Anti-Venom costume(was that a symbiote?) in ASM.
Then somehow he aquired the Toxin symbiote though I don't know when or where. Most recently he was wearing that symbiote in the Carnage series that just ended a couple months ago. How he got from there to back in the Venom symbiote I don't know because I've missed a couple issues of this newest Venom series. Or what happened to the Toxin symbiote and who, if anyone, has it now.

EDIT. Yes. The Anti-Venom costume was a result of Martin Li, aka Mr. Negative touching Eddie and curing his cancer but also negatively reacting to whatever residual symbiote was in Brock's bloodstream.
He got the Toxin symbiote during an arc of Flash Thomson's Venom series that I haven't found and read yet.

It's been a while since I've read it, but I thought Brock and the symboite separated as Eddie was near death (he actually sold it, IIRC). And I thought they showed him dead, alone, under a bridge or something.

That sounds like something Mark Millar would write. I remember Mac Gargan, the Scorpion got the symbiote for awhile because he was part of Osborn's Thunderbolts after the first Civil War.

Via Wiki:
In the 2004 story "Venomous", Brock experiences a crisis of faith and decides to sell the symbiote, knowing he will rapidly die from his cancer without it, intending to donate the $100 million received from the sale to charity on the grounds that the symbiote would find another host once he dies anyway. The symbiote is purchased by crime boss Don Fortunato for his son Angelo Fortunato. Angelo briefly becomes the second Venom but proves an unworthy host, and the symbiote abandons him mid-jump allowing him to fall to his death. Upon learning of Angelo's death, Brock feels responsible and attempts suicide by slitting his wrists.
At the time, it seemed pretty clear Brock had died.

Finished the W's this morning.

Walking Dead 163. A 25 cent issue. Zombies attack Rick and his friends in their town. So, basically the same as every other issue of this series. It's not important to remember supporting characters names anymore because they will be dead next issue. Also, apparently Negan and Rick are besties now.

Wasp 1-6. Hank Pym's secret retconned daughter from his first wife was raised in the Red Room to be a science assassin. But she escaped and came to America to find her dad, only to find out he's been dead for awhile. After literally only a handful of appearances in the Marvel U, Nadia gets her own ongoing series. Something the original Wasp, Janet VanDyne, never got. I rather enjoyed this book. Nadia decides to recruit other smart girls like herself to form a "super team" to make things better in the world. Despite being raised by monsters, she has a very earnest, truthful positivity about everything. There's a bit of a fish out of water thing going on, but overall it's an enjoyable book. I'm glad I bought all six issues even though I hadn't read any of them yet. It occurred to me that Marvel has quite a few solo books devoted to teenage girls/young women right now. Gwenpool, Jean Grey, Iron Riri, Moon Girl, Spider-Gwen, Squirrel Girl, Wasp, and Wolverine. That's impressive.

Web Warriors 2-10. Every issue of the Spider-Verse spinoff book except the first and last issues. All the alternate universe Spidey team up and traverse the multiverse, getting in trouble. It was alright, but I can see why it got canned after 11 issues. Nothing noteworthy.

Weirdworld 4. The missing issue of the sadly short lived six issue series.

Wolverine 15-20. Finishes up the Enemy of the State II story arc where Laura finally confronts and kills her arch nemesis Kimura. Then a new arc starts where a deadly alien virus lands on Roosevelt Island and it has a connection to Laura. Also, Gabby convinces her to start wearing a bulletproof uniform as a matter of convenience, which I though was hilarious because preteen Gabby called out the original Wolvie on his macho bullshit getting shot up all the time like he was trying to prove how tough he was.

So onto the X's. Finish up the three previous X books and the two new ongoings, Blue and Gold. Then it's back to the beginning of the box.

X-boooooooks!

All New X-Men 16-19. The ironically named team fights Madeline Pryor down in Florida in 16. Y'know back in the day, writers would at least TRY and make up a reasonable excuse why a character who had died was back from the dead. Now writers are all "LoL I thought u wuz dead hyuck hyuck" and then just bring back whatever villain they feel like. 17-18 were IvsX crossovers. 19 finished the series with the O5 traveling back in time and realizing they aren't the O5 from THIS universe because the originals were still back in the past. I'm glad they finally cleared that up/made it official.

Extraordinary X-Men 16-20. 16 is the finale of the Limbo attack arc. Magik is forced to kill her own protege to save X-haven and Nightcrawler released Apocalypse to save Colossus. 17-19 were IvsX crossovers. 20 was the team moving out of X-Haven because the threat of Mpox is over.

Uncanny X-Men 16-19. 16-18 were IvsX crossovers. 19 was the final showdown between Psylocke and Magneto. She kills him. And then Elixir and Exodus show up,and revive him after she leaves.

X-Men Prime one shot. Sets up the new ongoing team books, Blue, Gold, and Weapon X. Kitty Prude takes over as leader of the X-Men and just decides to move the mansion to Central Park. Uhhh..what??

X-Men Blue 1-5. The O5 decide to branch out on their own and leave the Xavier school. The plot twist is their secret benefactor is Magneto working out of a hidden base in Madripoor. I was slightly pissed that Juggernaut had reteamed up with Black Tom Cassidy. Because of what happened to Sammy the fish boy, Juggernaut would NEVER team up with Tom again and would most likely violently mush him into pulp if they ever crossed paths. But I guess that's what happens when your writer doesn't know continuity and the editors know even less. Also a bunch of the Ultimate X-Men refugees are on the main Marvel Earth now. It's still early to explain what's happening there. Also why is it called Blue? I mean, I get that it's a call back to the 90s teams, but the O5 just going with a random color doesn't make much sense.

X-Men Gold 1-5. Kitty Pryde gets the team back to the basics of being heroes in a world that hates and fears them. Rachel Grey gets a new codename; Prestige. Oh, and they live in Central Park now. Because I guess you can just plop your mansion down wherever the fuck you want and no one will say boo. I also laughed that they jumped in their supersonic Blackbird jet to fly from their new headquarters in Central Park...to a situation at the United Nations building. Haha. That's like 10 blocks away. They could've walked there. But nope, lets fly our fancy jet like 1/4th of a mile.

X-Men Worst X-Man Ever 2. I'm still waiting to find the rest of this series, but this was pretty funny. It was written by Max Bemis who I am told is somebody who is known for something. I'm too lazy to google him.

And now back to beginning! Will I ever catch up?? Not if I keep buying fucking books I won't.

So are the O5 gone then? I wish I had purchased/read that resolution. Maybe I'll try to track them down.

I bought Thanos, Secret Empire, Star Wars (done) and Logan 25. Hopefully the book is as good as the cover.

No. Since they aren't from THIS timeline(aka the 616 Marvel Universe) they don't know how to get back to their universe. So they're basically stuck here. The Blue book is about them. Sorry, that wasn't clear. X-Men Blue is about the time lost teen O5 led by Magneto.

Got it. No need to gather any further back issues of All-New X-Men v2. Glad to hear it!

So, how do they explain the time when one of the adult O5 briefly died (Cyclops?) and the young one disappeared?

I'm sure they will turn that explanation into a huge Comics Event with a seven eight issue series and several supporting minis and about 150 tie in issues.

Dr Strange 22 (SE tie-in) - I don't usually like it when the incoming artist mimics the style of the outgoing, but Bachalo's look is needed here. The new guy adds a bit of his own touches as well which are very, very clean (his Kingpin is spotless). Hopeless can't let go of Spider-Woman and Ben Urich as they both appear here - and that's good stuff.
SW 32 (Fx7 variant cover) - I keep saying I'm not buying these any more but it's hard when it's ESB. :(
Steve Cap 18 (SE tie-in) - Steve visits the UN & lays down the law. Namor & T'Challa have moments.
Surfer 12 - 2 more issues to go. For all the bitching I've done about Dan Slott & too much weirdness in Spidey, I will truly truly miss this comic :(

Missing: Thor 20 & Ultimates 8

Store B: Thor 20, Batman 24, 25, Superman 24, 25, Detective & Action most recent issues.

I also got a stack of TPBs with my long-standing credit slip & can re-read all of Preacher as well as the full Alan Moore Swamp Thing run whenever I so choose*.

*For what it's worth, I'm currently choosing to browse the internet & might take a nap after that - so it's will be whenever I so choose after those 2 things are dealt with.
