MCU Topic

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

I was going to binge watch Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I feel like I kind of have to read the spoilers ahead of time, otherwise I don't think I would get any of the references.

If you have an understanding of what happened to Captain America at the end of Endgame, you won't need to worry about the references too much.

I kinda feel like what the world thinks happened to Cap and what we think/know happened to Cap are different, but they’ve kept it vague on the show. He’s “gone”.

I mean, did he keel over and die on that bench after he gave Sam the shield? Did he fuck off to Montana to live off the grid? Is he in Fiji getting blowjobs from island girls until his ticker goes? Did he go back to the ‘other’ timeline?

I think they’re keeping it vague JUST IN CASE Chris Evans ever changes his mind on coming back one more time. They don’t want to paint themselves into a corner.

Not sure why. I think everyone knows death in comics is rarely forever, and that Cap has died. Plus this is the company that just stuck Maul at the end of Solo when they had to know it would confuse the fuck out of 90% of the audience.

Old Cap lived his whole life unfrozen, even if he were to come back they would need to use a time travel thing to make him young again... I don't think any of us wants to see that.

I will, however, speculate that old Isiah is only old via makeup (meaning the character is old, but I don't think the actor is, same as Evans at the end of Endgame) & I think he'll have a bit of an action packed role to play in the season finale.

Carl Lumbly (Isiah Bradley) was born in 1951, making him nearly 70.

That shouldn't be a problem.

Danny Trejo fought in the War of 1812 and look at him.

Carl Lumbley was M.A.N.T.I.S.
The dude is live action Super Hero royalty.
Show some respect.

I'm surprised. I figured his wrinkles were makeup.

Captain America 4 movie announced after the conclusion of Cap/WS series.

Also read a rumor that SOME of the Netflix series stars were gonna make their way into the MCU. Daredevil, Kingpin, J Jones, and Frank Castle might show up in future MCU projects. Not sure if that makes the shows retroactively canon, or if they just liked the actors enough to keep them around without the continuity baggage.
Luke Cage and Iron Fist didn’t make the cut and will be recast if and when they bring them in. Maybe there’s a Heroes for Hire movie planned for down the road.

I know Charlie Cox has been rumored to appear in the new Spider-Man movie or the She-Hulk series.

The best parts of Falcon & Winter Soldier were the dialogues between Falcon & Isiah, Falcon & his sister, Falcon & Enfys Nest. Great performance by Anthony Mackie - even when he was wearing the god awful Falcap mask - talking about NOT translating well from the page to the screen. Yeesh.

I think his goatee and the mask clashed for me. But the rest of the uniform was pretty comics accurate.

Loved the Curtis Harding song at the end.

Marvel commissioned a gorgeous poster of the new Cap by our very own Rob Liefeld!
