Curiously, #3 is the only issue of Omega Men I own.

Re: Big score........
He doesn’t resemble what we think of as ‘Lobo’ in that at all. I was trying to find a list of his appearances in chronological order to see if the transformation was gradual, or if Giffen just took a little used c-lister and abruptly reinvented him. Like, was Lobo a popular character, or did Giffen just make him popular?
EDIT. He wallowed for for a few years as a forgettable villain before Giffen reimagined him in Justice League International as a bounty hunter in 1988. He then became a regular fixture in L.E.G.I.O.N. before getting his own books. He was meant as an indictment of The Punisher, but that backfired because fans loved his absurd excessism.

I don't have most of the appearances in between, but Giffen did originally create Lobo. Not sure if what he became was always in Giffen's mind or what, though.

Re: Big score........
While looking at issues I’m missing on cbrealm, I’ll occasionally click on the ebay link to see if the prices cbrealm has listed jives with what the books are actually selling for. I’m missing three issues from the Nu52 Justice League run. 30 and 31 are the first appearance of Jessica Cruz as the newest Green Lantern, and 40 is the first appearance of Grail, Darkseid’s daughter. I found an ebay guy offering 30 and 31 for $15 together so I bought them. Which just leaves issue 40 for a complete run of that series.
I also found a full run of Far Sector, the GL series featuring Jo Mullein. All 12 issues for $36, which is basically cover price. They haven’t arrived yet though.

Re: Big score........
Maybe. But I knew they more expensive books. I paid more than I normally would for them, just not what they’re ‘worth’. I feel like a lot of recent DC books get pumped up by speculators when the character’s “impact” in the comics doesn’t warrant/justify the value increase of the book. Like, what has Punchline done that make her first appearances worth more? Same with Grail. I didn’t even know she existed until I was looking at why 40 is more expensive.Diabolical wrote: ↑Mon Feb 09, 2026 8:03 pmsounds like a couple of hidden gems.Tom Foolery wrote: ↑Mon Feb 09, 2026 7:51 pm I’m missing three issues from the Nu52 Justice League run. 30 and 31 are the first appearance of Jessica Cruz as the newest Green Lantern, and 40 is the first appearance of Grail, Darkseid’s daughter.

Re: Big score........
Another Mall show today. Only found 33 books for $36. Some were $2, but they were offset by finding others that were 15 for $10, so I just lumped it all together and paid just slightly over $1 apiece.
Here’s what I got.
Bombshells 7-9, 13, 14 and Bombshells:United 5-7, 14. Still missing about a dozen issues from each series.
Deadpool Family. Oneshot from 2011.
Deadpool:Merc with a Mouth 1. This entire mini series is fairly expensive, so I was surprised to find this for $2. The cover isn’t pristine, but it’s not egregiously beat up either.
GIJoe 1. The die-cut Variant cover of the Skybound series n
Grendel Tales:Devil May Care 1-6. I only needed three of these, but the guy has them bundled as a set, so I just bought the set.
Guardians of the Galaxy 4, 5, 17, 19. From the DisneyXD animated tie-in comic. I don’t have these on my list, so I’ll have to figure out how many issues there were and how many are left.
I Am Groot 2. Still need 1 and 3.
Hellblazer 79.
Justice League America 1. Hawaii variant cover. 23 to go.
Marvel Super Heroes 14* This wasn’t expressly numbered issue 14. It was ‘Summer 1993’ but it was the last issue I needed for a full run. FINISHED!
Paper Girls 7, 12.
Star Wars:Storms of Crait oneshot.
Star Wars:Bounty Hunters 13.
Truth & Justice 3.
Since I didn’t spend that much, I was gonna try and find some higher end books I’ve been missing, but I just didn’t feel like it.
There’s an Alan show in April, then FCBD in May, and then another Mall show in June.

Re: Big score........
Because I have adhd and couldn’t possibly, reasonably be expected to wait until the 25th of April in two weeks to search for back issues at Alan’s show. I went to two different LCS and dropped $40 on $2 at each shop. Thats 40 books for $80 for you math aficionados out there.
The first shop, Have Fun Collectibles.
Aquaman 1. The last issue I was missing from the Rebirth run. I already had a 2nd print or a variant of it, but had it marked as still needing the main cover. Also, most of the last half of the series I have are the variant covers. But otherwise, FINISHED.
Batman 434, 435. The 2nd and 3rd chapters of John Byrne and Jim Aparo’s ‘Many Deaths of the Batman’ arc. Which were the first Batman issues I bought when I started collecting Batman back in ‘89. I already have them, obviously, but wanted to reread it. The first chapter has only a single word balloon in it with two words; “Get out.” so I can safely skip the first chapter and get the gist of the arc.
All Star Batman 1. The main cover of the Rebirth title. Finished the series.
FCBD The Boys:Herogasm 1. Since I doubt I’ll find a regular copy of this HTF issue for cheap, at least I can read the rest of the series now.
Injustice:Ground Zero 1-3, 5. Most of a miniseries I didn’t know existed. It’s the “origin” of the universe. In other words, the events leading up to the first issue of the original series and game.
KnightTerrors:Zatanna 1.
Marvel Milestone Edition:Avengers 1. Reprint of the first Avengers. (Duh)
MME:Tales of Suspense 39. Reprint of the first Iron Man.
MME:Iron Man 55. Reprint of the first Thanos.
Rocketeer Adventure Magazine 2. From the original Comico series. Damn. Gorgeous cover.
Silver Age Classics:Adventure Comics 247. Reprint of the first Legion of SuperHeroes.
SAC:Brave and Bold 28. Reprint of the first Justice League of America.
SAC:Green Lantern 76. Reprint of the classic GL/GA hard travelin’ heroes team up by O’Neil and Adams.
SAC:Showcase 4. Reprint of the first Flash.
Witchblade 166.
Tales of the Witchblade 7. I was missing three issues. This one turned out to be signed with a COA, but that’s not why I bought it. Just need issues 1 and 9 now.
The second shop, In This Issue comics
Blue Beetle 8, 9. The two issues I was missing from the series I just read last week. Finished.
Capt Marvel:Dark Tempest 5. The issue I was missing from the series I read last month. Finished.
Cyborg 5. The issue I was missing from the Dawn of DC mini. Finished.
Dark Knights of Steel 9. Still need issue 5.
DC’s Lex and the City. Giant $10 anthology oneshot.
DC’s Legion of Bloom. Another $10 oneshot.
DC’s I Know What You Did Last Crisis. Another $10 oneshot.
DC’s Kal-El fornia Love. Another $10 oneshot.
Action Comics 1055, 1061. I’m only missing seven from this ‘gap’ in my Action run.
Superman 6, 7, 9, 13, 16. Only three more issues from the current run to find.
Wonder Woman 1. From the current run. I had the variant cover.
Yondu 5. Finished the mini.
That should tide me over for a couple weeks until the next show.

Re: Big score........
I started looking to see how many of these $10 oneshots they’ve put out over the years. Turns out there’s been quite a few. The DC Fandom wiki had a category for them, with 62 listed. But many of those were older 80-page Giants from the late 90s/early 2000s.DC’s Lex and the City. Giant $10 anthology oneshot.
DC’s Legion of Bloom. Another $10 oneshot.
DC’s I Know What You Did Last Crisis. Another $10 oneshot.
DC’s Kal-El fornia Love. Another $10 oneshot.
This new ‘series’ started in 2018 and they put out 4-5(or more) a year, usually themed around a holiday like Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Christmas, etc. The wiki list didn’t have several of the ones I had purchased, so I had to go into a year-by-year list of oneshots DC publishes. I started in 2018 and worked my way forward. I could immediately disregard certain oneshots that I knew were event tie-ins, or Fascimile reprints, or YA themed books. But the rest, I’d click on to verify if it was a $10 anthology that met my criteria and wrote them all down. Then I deleted the ones I have from my list. I’ve found about a dozen in $1 and $2 boxes over the years, but there’s still 20 more on my list. And who knows if it’s a complete list, but it’s a solid starting point.
There were also many regular oneshots I didn’t have on my list, so I added those as I came across them. If I’m not regularly collecting an ongoing, I’m not paying attention if they release a Flash or Green Lantern oneshot occasionally. And they do. Often.
