What have you watched lately?

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

Fuck you and the horse you rode in on. "Wolfman has nards?" is the greatest line in history.

Okay, it's been about thirty years, and that's all I remember other than Frankenstein's monster accidentally snapping a pic of the female lead changing.

I didn't say it doesn't have it's moments, but there are plot holes big enough to drive a truck though and the acting is pretty horrid.
The Stan Winston effects are still pretty damn good (especially the Gill-Man).

I was joking. I really don't remember 99% of it.

I don't even remember hearing about Monster Squad. I wonder if the video store I worked at even carried it.

Attack on Titan. The first of two live action versions of the popular manga/anime. The subtitles got stuck about a half hour in so we had to make up our own dialogue. It was unintentionally hilarious and overly melodramatic. And the cgi was subpar compared to most US movies. But I had fun watching it.

The Walk. Saw it in IMAX 3D. I was gripping my armrest. It moves along quickly and was quite enjoyable.

The Martian. Damn good. It's like a futuristic Apollo 13. Highly recommend seeing it.

Maze Runner: Scorch Trials. Utter garbage. I'm sad Alan Tudyk was in it for a minute.

I Am Big Bird: The Caroll Spinney Story - Amazon Prime. Great doc on the man inside Big Bird.

Your Highness - The James Franco/Danny McBride medieval stoner comedy with Natalie Portman in a thong.

This Is The End - More Franco/McBride and more. Fun flick. Haven't seen it since theaters.

Avengers: Age of Ultron - On Blu-Ray.

The Martian - Phenomenal. Kate Mara has been in one of the best and one of the worst (Fan4stic) sci-fi movies of the year, while Michael Pena has been in two of the best (Ant-Man).

Very excited about seeing The Martian - hopefully this week. Also watched Av2 on bluray & enjoyed the special feature about the 4 stones found so far. Good concise recap.

Re-watched Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

That movie still holds up. The kids didn't get some of the innuendo, and weren't particularly familiar with noir detective movies, but loved it. Some of it is actually funnier if you're familiar with LA's shitty freeways. (Spoiler: Judge Doom actually won.)

Sin City 2: I missed the beginning, so I assume that's why I didn't understand why some (but not all) of the characters that died in the first movie were alive again in the 2nd. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. It was okay.

That one was painful. I thought everything about it sucked, but the makeup was especially horrendous.

It didn't have my full attention as I was doing other stuff while it was on. The timeline made didn't seem to jive with the first movie.

I have watched it but have ZERO recollection of what happened. I don't plan on watching it again.

And I did. Fucking enjoyable, too. And Kate Mara wasn't even the most boneworthy chick in this movie - Jessica Chastain is fantastic.

The blonde chick back in Houston space center is also worth mentioning.

Black Mass. Not nearly as compelling as other crime films like Goodfellas or Casino or Donnie Brasco.

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. A prequel to John Wick.

Wayne's World. Teenage me was way more entertained by this in 1992 than I was yesterday.

Nightmare Before Christmas. Confession. I had never seen this before. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm glad Disney resisted the urge to franchise this into sequels.
