I have never watched a single episode of Rebels & I haven't kept up with purchasing the seasons on disc either. I guess I'll have to start at some point.... but I can't even get through Season 5 of Clone Wars ><

I've stalled on Clone Wars several times also.

I've watched a couple episodes of Rebels and thoroughly enjoyed them. For some reason, I like how early concept art gets recycled into usable canon in the series.

I'm put off by the character designs, and yes I realize that's stupid.

I catch Rebels on occasion. I guess I don't pick up on some of the EU stuff.

Never tried to watch Clone Wars.

Anyone see Star Wars: Forces of Destiny? I just saw an episode. It appears to be just a bunch of shorts revolving around various female characters from all the movies plus Rebels. The animation style was weird. It almost looked like something from the 70s or 80s. They didn't last long or have any continuity. There were 4 or 5 different cartoons in the half hour episode.

They're just ads for the Barbies as far as I know.

Commercials? That actually makes way more sense.

The Trailer has landed. Let the commentary, speculation & conjecture commence.

- Most Interesting: "I've only seen power like this once before. It didn't scare me enough then. It does now." Referencing..... Kylo, I'm assuming?

- the Porg was funnier than I expected, I figured I was going to want to punt it/them but that was ok

- Finn vs Phasma - were we waiting for this with baited breath? If that's a critical juncture, they had some opportunity to set it up better in TFA

- cool new saber, Kylo Bro

- the Emperor errr Snoke vs Luke errr Rey showdown looks like more intentional mirroring from the OT which will, of course, cause most people to claim they are rehasing/remaking/recycling. I can live with those complaints as long as I don't wind up rolling my eyes from lame dialogue. I believe I'll be safe again this time.....

What did everyone else think?

They trying pretty hard to make it look Kylo kills his moms, too.

Are we gonna know Rey's parents by the end of this film? Or are we saving that for "icks".

Lots of cool visuals. I've only watched it once. Be back in a few.

I saw that they were going to release the trailer during Monday Night Football. Are the ratings for MNF that bad that they need to draw in a bunch of Star Wars geeks to get people to watch?

Anyway...

It looks like they are going to parallel the "I am your father" moment in this one with Rey.

The new AT-ATs look dumb. Introduced in the 2nd new movie of the trilogy...another parallel?

Jedi training sequence...yet another parallel, or am I trying too hard?

I think they gave away how they are going to handle Leia.

I'm not any more excited about this movie than I was for Rogue One or Force Awakens. I'll see it whenever I get around to it and I don't care about spoilers. (By the way, I forgot the title of The Force Awakens and had to google it.)

I'm almost as excited as I was for Ep VII. Rogue I was very pleased by, but not very excited about. In fact I didn't get my ticket until the day of.

My son asked why Chewie was CG when I sent him the link.
I don't know if it's cg, but he did look "off". Like it was a store bought Chewie mask and not a meticulously crafted costume on An exorbitantly budgeted film.

Just because a guy takes the time to groom himself before a trailer reveal.....

Yeah, he's a little too pretty I guess, but we don't know the circumstances of what led to that sequence. Maybe Leia finally gave him his medal from Yavin right before takeoff.

All the Star Wars films parallel each other, almost like poetry. Sometimes in big ways, sometimes small.
Examples - In the beginning of each trilogy the older mentor dies.
A kid raised in the desert begins his/her journey to become a Jedi.
Yoda's dialogue: "Our own counsel we will keep on who is to be trained" in TPM mirrors "My own counsel I will keep on who is to be trained" in ESB.
Anakin and Luke's "I'm not afraid" when being questioned by Yoda.

As for the trailer, it was great. I'm looking forward to it.
My only disappointment? No Artoo or Threepio.
