I really enjoyed Ant-Man and The Wasp. They built on the first in almost every way.
Lots of fun with the shrinking and growing gimmicks.
Luis, the clear breakout of Ant-Man, was given a bigger role, but never felt overdone.
My only minor complaint is that Scott Lang seemed a lot dumber this time around.

that's a good point - he was an electrical engineer, wasn't he? that's how he was so good at circumventing security systems. though, in the realm of Hank, Hope, and Bill he's obviously outmatched.

Yeah, I think they said he had his Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Even so, there's a difference in nor know knowing what the Pym's were talking about and being a bit of a dummy.

Civil War finally made its way to basic cable. When I turned it on, they were fighting at airport, then Iron Man visits the prison, then meets up with Capt America. At that point, I realized I had no idea what was going on, so I changed the channel. I'll just try catching the whole movie next time it was on.

The part you missed was where the South wanted to keep slavery and the North was like ‘Not cool, bruh’ and the South said ‘Fine, we will secede bitches’ and the North was all like ‘we are gonna fuck yo shit up!’ And then Lincoln did the Gettysburg Address and then a bunch of dudes( like literally millions of dudes) all stood around in fields and let themselves get shot repeatedly for several years. Then somebody was like this kind of warfare is stupid we need to come up with a better system so they invented Seal Team Six and now like 10-20 guys can do the same amount of damage as 5000 guys did back then. ‘Murica, fuck yeah.

Was Capt America from the North or South? He seemed to be the one rebelling, so I was going to assume that he was from the South. His shield could easily have been a confederate flag. Not sure what that says about Falcon.

James Gunn had been fired from GotG3 after some troll dug up some old, "offensive" tweets from 6-10 years ago.
Bullshit. This isn't like Roseanne Barr who was still being a dick. He acknowledged they were in bad taste and that obviously isn't who he is anymore.
I hope most of the cast threatens to drop out if they don't reverse this. Marvel owes Gunn a massive debt of gratitude for talking an unknown property into one of their biggest hits.

Dave Bautista has spoken up in defense of Gunn and he seems pretty pissed off.

His brother, Sean, sent out some very nice tweets in defense of his brother as well.
What annoys me is that his off kilter sense of humor is what made the movies so successful to begin with. You can’t have it both ways, Disney.
Whoever comes in to direct the third one isn’t gonna have that same mix of humor and empathy. And the music. Damn it.
We can’t have nice things.
But maybe he’ll finally tell everybody what the super secret Easter egg from the first movie is.

All of the main cast have united in support of James Gunn.
This, along with the online petition with over 350,000 signatures, and the fact that nobody has even been discussed as a replacement yet (apparently), could actually get Disney to reverse their decision.
An Open Letter from the Cast of Guardians of the Galaxy
To our fans and friends:
We fully support James Gunn. We were all shocked by his abrupt firing last week and have intentionally waited these ten days to respond in order to think, pray, listen, and discuss. In that time, we’ve encouraged by the outpouring of support from fans and members of the media who wish to see James reinstated as director of Volume 3 as well as discouraged by those so easily duped into believing the many outlandish conspiracy theories surrounding him.
Being in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies has been a great honor in each of our lives. We cannot let this moment pass without expressing our love, support, and gratitude for James. We are not here to defend his jokes of many years ago but rather to share our experience having spent many years together on set making Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2. The character he has shown in the wake of his firing is consistent with the man he was every day on set, and his apology, now and from years ago when first addressing these remarks, we believe is from the heart, a heart we all know, trust, and love. In casting each of us to help him tell the story of misfits who find redemption, he changed our lives forever. We believe the theme of redemption has never been more relevant than now.
Each of us looks forward to working with our friend James again in the future. His story isn’t over – not by a long shot.
There is little due process in the court of public opinion. James is likely not the last good person to be put on trial. Given the growing political divide in this country, it’s safe to say instances like this will continue, although we hope Americans from across the political spectrum can ease up on the character assassinations and stop weaponizing mob mentality.
It is our hope that what has transpired can serve as an example for all of us to realize the enormous responsibility we have to ourselves and to each other regarding the use of our written words when we etch them in digital stone; that we as a society may learn from this experience and in the future will think twice before we decide what we want to express; and in so learning perhaps can harness this capability to help and heal instead of hurting each other. Thank you for taking the time to read our words.

I signed the petition the day it came out.
And I NEVER sign online petitions.

Although it's not MCU, the 3rd Venom trailer is out.
I didn't link it because it still looks terrible.
It includes the line, "like a turd rolling down the street in the wind."
At least I think it does, since Venom is as hard to understand as Bane.

Remember Kermit the Frog and how sometimes his head would get deformed wasn't going quite his way. When Venom was wrapping around the guy's head, it sort of reminded me of that.
