Sounds ripe for a Christopher Nolan remake, but it will need to be more confusing.
We nearly finished binging Cobra Kai - season 3 takes the absurdity to incredible new levels, but it remains entertaining enough to finish. 3 episodes left.

Yesterday, Into the Spiderverse was on TV. I had seen the preview (was it at the end of Deadpool 2?). I was doing other stuff and was just looking for something in the background, so I figured I'd check it out for a few minutes, then watch something else. Ended up watching the whole thing.

It's engaging, both visually and story-wise. Great soundtrack too. I was hoping we'd get a follow up.

It is quickly climbing my list of movies with high-rewatchablility factor. Like, some movies are Great movies, but they’re not movies that you just throw in the DVD player to watch on a whim. Like Godfather or something. But there are some movies that are just ‘comfort food’ movies that I can watch and rewatch all day long. Princess Bride, Knight’s Tale, Lego Movie, Month Python, etc. Into the Spiderverse is on that list.
“You can take down all those stickers this weekend.” “you saw that? I don’t know if that was me...”
“I just washed my hands. That’s why they’re wet. No other reason.”
“I like your hair.” “You don’t get to like my hair.”

That movie was so incredible, the shock of Poe Dameron being Spider-Man 2099 isn't even the best part.

The sequel is still scheduled for October 7, 2022.

Hound of the Baskervilles (1959). Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. I read it in high school, but couldn't have told you anything about it other than it was a Sherlock Holmes novel. In a weird way, it had a 1966 Batman feel about it. Anyway, Tarkin saved Count Dooku.

I bought the complete series of Miami Vice after talking about the show at work. First 2 episodes done. Yes, there is an overabundance of 80s cheese, but god damn there is some Michael Mann visionary brilliance as well.
Fun Fact - there is an ambulance near the beginning of the pilot episode that is identical to the one used as the getaway car at the start of Heat.

The first three seasons were pretty solid.
At one point, I don’t remember when exactly, they jumped the shark with an Alien Abduction episode and the show was getting dopey.
But then the final season plot twist where Crockett gets amnesia and thinks he’s really the Burnett character he’s been using as a cover all these years, essentially becoming the criminal bad guy on the show, it finished strong.
I am also on an 80s kick. I started rewatching Magnum PI.

Time Bandits. Yup, somehow never saw it. Fun, mildly crazy flick. I didn't quite get the significance of Shelly Duvall and Sean Connery existing in multiple times, but it was the kind of puzzler that doesn't hurt the movie.
Seeing all the Jawas starring together in a film was awesome.

I’m sorry you missed experiencing that movie when you were young and impressionable.
I was seven or eight(?) when it came out. Shit blew my mind.

How did you miss that one up to this point? Its funny how Flash Gordon and Time Bandits had a ton of people who were in various Star Wars movies. Or, if you are on a Terry Gilliam streak, go watch Adventures of Baron Munchausen again. (Which reminds me that I still want to see The Man Who killed Don Quixote)
I watched Blues Brothers this past weekend and realized Dan Ackroyd and just over half of the band are the only musicians still alive from that movie.

Godzilla vs Kong. In IMAX. It’s a giant monkey fighting a giant iguana! Then they team up and fight a giant robot iguana! What’s not to like?

Started a longterm binge of the DCAU with the first 3-part arc of Superman: TAS and Mask of the Phantasm.
These shows are still so fucking good. Just incredible. Almost thirty years, and, while I will concede some adaptations have come close, the DCAU is still the pinnacle.
Especially B:TAS.

Godzilla vs Kong may be one of the absolute dumbest movies I've ever seen, but it was fun watching them best the shit out of each other.
A few spoilery questions from early in the film:
How did they build and get Kong in his biodome?
How does a deaf kid secretly teach sign language to a constantly monitored creature?
How did they get Kong on the boat?
Where did the giant chains come from if they weren't planning on chaining him up for a long time?
Where do you get dozens of helicopters and string enough cables to lift and carry Kong?
How did they get said cables under Kong?
