A Holiday Special reference? Holy crap. Apparently that memory wipe I had of the last time I tried to watch it worked.

Started watching it tonight. I still have 35 minutes left. Can't say I'm enjoying it.

Way back when we were all on the other site, I remember the irony of all the members who had never seen the elusive Holiday Special really wanted to see it.
And all the members who had seen it wish they hadn’t.

I was in the latter group.

That shit is heinous.

Other than the Boba Fett cartoon, The Holiday Special was really hard to watch.

I was tired last night and forgot to specify what I was watching. It was The Last Jedi, not the Holiday Special. (No way in hell I'd try to watch the Holiday Special again). Anyway, I finished watching The Last Jedi and I didn't like it.

Your movie has problems when the most compelling character dies in the first ten minutes. I’d watch an entire trilogy about her and I don’t even know/remember her name.

The bomber lady? Rose's sister Paige Tico played by Ngo Thanh Van. Foxy.

I guess. Do they mention her name in the movie? Or is that kinda info in the nerd phone book that accompanies Star Wars movies lately?

Her name was Paige Tico and she was way hotter and with no lines she had ran an acting school around her gross, useless, irritating fan-girl sister, Rose Rose Binks.

I briefly considered trying to watch it again, but then I remembered that the second viewing of the PT didn't change my opinion. I almost quit watching The Last Jedi about 45 minutes into it. The only thing to keep me going was the hope that it would get better.

Just when I was thinking "well, at least there weren't any stupid love scenes like AOTC and ROTS", Rose somehow comes out of nowhere to t-bone Finn. I'm not even sure how that was possible since it looked like she was falling back and Finn was speeding up.

There are a bunch of other things I didn't like, but listing them all would be time consuming and pointless.

You guys are wrong. Dead fucking wrong.

The Jefferson Starship mini-concert is a second watchable part of The Holiday Special.

Way to disrespect a musical icon.

Starship disrespected themselves in the 80s. I'm pretty sure there is an interview with Grace Slick more or less saying that herself.

By the way, I found that scene on youtube. It isn't as bad as I remembered, but I couldn't sit through the whole thing. The only person to enjoy it was the Imperial guy watching it. And since it was the 70s, he was probably on some drug that made the video really "far out."

I'm weird in that I believe Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, and Starship are all quite good at what they did, they were just three very different bands (hippie rock, prog rock, and pop) that shared some members. It's kinda pretentious music critic sort of thinking to believe Starship is utter crap just because they evolved from a more important band.

And I'm also weird in that I think Jefferson Starship beat the ever-living shit out of Jefferson Airplane musically. I'll take "Miracles" or "Jane" over "White Rabbit" any day.

My favorite part of The Last Jedi was Laura Dern saying "pew" when she fired her blaster.

I kept trying to figure out if I wanted to bang her or not. Typically, in life, I find I know the answer within nanoseconds (and yes, the original answer can change over time), but I've watched that movie 5x and still don't know. Typically Laura Dern is not interesting to me but there is something about the clingy dress.....

I’m gonna say no. There’s always been something about her face that I’ve found off putting. She’s not ugly, but she’s never made me have the ‘nnnngggg’ face. Even when she was young and you see her tits in Rambling Rose I was like ‘eh’.
