I think my first issue (read) was 210, the beginning of the Mutant Massacre, but I didn't get into collecting until around Inferno. Then I had fun back tracking all those issues. Eventually I got a big chunk of back issues from 150ish on up and some issues before that and I quit with 328.

I think 207 and 208 were the amazing Wolverine issues by Barry Windsor Smith? Awesome covers of Logan, awesome. Hopefully you've got those filed away someplace.

Y'know, I've got the prelude to Draco and part 1 of Draco and haven't read them yet. Blasphemy? Maybe?
The new GIJoe could kick Draco's butt. "No one shoots my son. . . except for me!" [se]

What no mention of....??
I don't have 207. Whats up with that?

You need those. Sorry to add to your list, but 207 and 208 are off the hook, Wolvie violence non-plus (none more). They're right before that Mutant Massacre where Piotr got nailed by Ahab or whatever...... didn't he? And Kitty's powers got all fucked up? I need to re read that shizzy from like 200 on. "The Trial of Magneto" - X-Men 200 - great cover. 201 - Psych vs. Storm for leadership of the team and first Cable (as a baby) I believe - I can't remember what the hell else happened in there, but 207 and 208 are sick.
Oh - and Chux... er I mean "Anarky" check out those Draco issues right away. Good stuff happening there.

It's fucked up alright. I have a complete UXM run from 178 to 329 except 207. Fuuucked up. Now I'm in a right pissy mood. If I hadn't won all those sweet Spidey books just know, I'd be beating some ass. Oh well....
Batman would beat up Captain America, by the way.
And Deathstroke would tear the Punisher a new one.(that's for the next showdown)

Batman would totally fuck up Captain America, because Cap would know he was going to get his ass kicked and offer Bats a BJ to keep from getting hurt too bad, and Batman would kick his ass extra hard for that.
I hate Captain America. "Woo, I wear a flag! Look at me! Look at me!" About as stupid as Dr Strange. "Hi, my name's Dr Strange. No, that's my real name. That's not what some kid called me because of this outfit. Hey, where you going? You can't cancel me again!!"
Sadly, my first issue of Uncanny was #258, and my first "regular" issue (meaning I started getting it every month) was around #270. The heyday was gone. But the issues before that were going for way too much at that point for me to afford them. I was lucky enough to get Gambit's first appearance in one of those Sam's Club 30 packs they sold back in the day, and sprung for #244 and #248 (in my mind then and now, two of the all-time most important). Now that comic prices are going down, I keep meaning to snatch up all the rest, but never get around to it.
Barry Windsor-Smith... whatever happened to him?

Too much detail, too much pressure to put out regular work, I think. He wasn't the type that would ever do a long run on a monthly book, though I believe he did quite a few on Conan, no? I haven't heard from him in ages. Same as Paul Smith (yes, I keep beating that name to death, sorry) other than "Leave it to Chance" which was great, and is sadly missed. My daughter will love it when she's old enough.
Oh, and by the way, no way Bats beats Cap. Here we go with that old Super Powers beat Ninjas argument again... yes, Bats is as tough AS A REGULAR PERSON CAN GET. CAP HAS SUPER SOLDIER SERUM INDUCED SUPER POWERS, AND WOULD HOLD UP TO THE WORST BATS COULD DO. TAKE OFF THE BELT AND SHIELD, AND IT'S CAP CAP CAP!!!!!!!!!! [ bats ][:(]

Okay, meesa back you non-x posting fuckers......
I've been backing up and filling in on the reading a little, started back at the 2nd Age of Apocalypse, where Wolvie is the Horseman Death, gets killed, gets brought back, Cyke and Apocalypse merge, then get separated..... yawn. Alan Davis finished his stint with a better story about "what if the X-Men lost their powers at the hands of the High Evolutionary and had to fight Sinister without them", and it was okay. Now, Claremont is set to go (seemingly "again????", though I guess X-Treme would really be the "again???" again, this would just be the "again? cool!" one, but that's not the order I've read it in... anyone getting me here? Didn't think so...) with X-Men 100 and the "Revolution" covers deal. Not sure what's up with that, but I know Warren Ellis took over Gen X, X Factor and X-Man for 8 issues each at this point, so I'll be reading the next 10 issues of about 6 series. Then I will finally be caught up (except for a few issues of Uncanny that go way back). Then it'll be onto finishing the reading of Wolvie Vol 1, which I still have a few issues to go on. Seems the deeper I dig, the bigger the hole gets, which makes sense in a way.
Oh, did I mention I'm currently negotiating a purhcase of Amazing [ }8{ ] #1? I rock.

Holy shit. How much do you spend on comics? There's this old guy downtown who I go to when i can't find something at my two regular joints and i was looking for some newer NEW X MEN issues and he say's "I just got these three boxes in..." and I'm thinking just got in as in just got published, but I start flipping through the box and it's like Iron Man #1 and SHIELD #7 and Amazing Spidey #10. Three long boxes of almost pristine comics. I nearly shat. It's too bad I'm borderline poverty.

What were the prices like?
Im a little nervous, this kind of thing doesn't happen all the time around here (only once before, as a matter of fact). The seller isn't coming off as too on the level, so Im thinking it's not going to happen. She has 2 copies for sale, and keeps trying to slip me scans of the worse copy, like it's the one Im interested in. The copy Im after is what looks to be a good solid Fine, no weirdness at all. She wants 3800 for that copy which Im willing to go to the bank and see about, since I've wanted one for a long time. Im demanding escrow, and a chance to inspect the book before I release the funds to her, AND a condition that if I can't secure the necessary bank loan I can back out. Today, for the second time, she has sent me an email including a scan of the worse copy - and I've sent her replies to both saying it's not the one I want. We'll have to see.

If she was on the level, she'd have no reluctance about you getting to see what you paid for. Stupid bitches.
X-Treme X-Men is blissfully over today. I read the last issue and it's conclusion was adequate for me, which means it was better than the tripe in the middle of the story arc, but not a good story by any means. (sigh) What a way to sully a classic story by barfing out an inferior sequel for the sake of Movie audiences...

Im actually looking forward to that being finished as well. Going to be a pricey week here, haven't bought last week's yet, and still had about 30 bucks worth left over from 2 weeks ago. Need bags and boards too - $100 bucks going to hit the road, no doubt.
Finishing up on Claremont's 2nd last run (where he took both X-Men titles over around the time the first movie came out), and man is it convoluted. I hate when they fail to tell you which issue to read next - I went ahead and read about 4 issues in a row of New X, and couldn't figure things out. Finally, after the 4th one, it said "to be concluded in Uncanny 485!!!" or whatever, which finally got the lightbulb turned on. I went and started reading Uncanny issues, and suddenly it makes a little more sense. More sub-par X-villains (the Neo), and more weirdness with Wolverine popping up unexpectedly here and there (not to help the team, but to scrap with Rogue over who was going to be the leader. Rogue won, if you thought for a second it was worth caring about). Don't rush back to fill these in, EP. If you've got Morrison's New X forward (and the equivalent issues of Uncanny), you're all set for recent issues. Even the final beating of Apocalypse left quite a bit to be desired, though I'm looking forward to the resolution of that - they still haven't brought Scott back yet (he merged with Apocalypse at the end of the 2nd Ages of Apocalypse arc to stop him from using the 12 chosen alpha mutants as his ultimate power source or some damn fool thing like that. At least the Living Monolith was in there for a minute - he's cool). Wonder when that happens, I only have about 5 books left before the "Maximum Security" issues, which won't forward any plots, and which will have me caught up. I'll let you know how it pans out.

Hey, it's thsat time of the month...the big mutant X comic week. New Mutants, Uncanny and New X MEN all hit the racks today (well yesterday, now... quibbler)
New Mutants. Karma's a lesbian? huh. whatever. This issue seemed kinda derivative of the first three. Is it the same thing over and over every month? I want to see more about the students we've already met and we barely get a page. Also, I'd like to see them recruit an asshole or two. These are all nice kids. BORING. Where's the surly Loganesque character? Anyway, eventually Dani and her recruiting can take a back seat to the actual NEW MUTANTS the title suggests.
Uncanny. The part I was looking forward to most (indicated by the cover) NEVER happened!! I totally dig the dynamic between Sammy and Cain established a few issues ago. Alas, Marko was nowhere to be found. The art was alittle slipshod also. Almost Liefeldian in its rushed look. After that great prologue set up and a good part 1, this dropped off a little. I patiently await part 3.
NEW X MEN. The end....uhhhhhhmmmmm...yeah. WHAT THE FUCK? That's all I can say.
