In Daredevil 49, DD keeps calling Bullseye Lester and talking about his "secret origin". Does this all happen in the Kev Smith limited series that ain't finished yet?

so it would seem... pretty crappy, huh... kevin smith makes great movies, and he can make a good comic - unfortunately, he can't write more than one a year these days...

Lester, huh. I thought it would be a cooler "secret origin" if Bullseye was on the run from the IRA and he was faking an american accent all this time and then he a and DD get mixed up in some Irish mob thing and he gets found out and DD has to save his bacon/team up with him to stop some other bad guys. And basically how DD gets him out of his hair once and for all is "Look, Paddy O'Flannigan, come after me or my bitches again and I drop dime on you to Fein Sein. Capice?"
Ties into the movie too. [;)]

Just finished the Guardian Devil storyline. I got choked up when he named the baby at the end. That was hardcore. I never realized that this was Mysterio's swan song. I knew Bullseye killed Karen page during the course of the storyline, but I didn't know who was behind it all. Speaking of Bullseye...Whew. That dude is harsh. Killing nuns and shit might put him on the badass list above Cobra Commander and Deathstroke if it wasn't such a fucked up thing to do. What a fucker. Daredevil has a shitty time with women don't he? I can't wait for issue 50 tomorrow. I think it's about the only thing I'm getting this week ( August 20th, 2003) unless I get some back issues.
Anyway, next up is Mack's Echo storyline.

I was let down by 50. The artist jam really got on my nerve as it was the same Daredevil/Kingpin shot over and over for 8 pages. And only 2 panels a page. Boring. Everything leading up to it ( from Underboss on) was a kick ass story that didn't pay off.
I read the beginning of the Mack Ben Urich story, but since I don't have 18 and 19 I can't comment.
I also read the Daredevil lawsuit story arc "Playing to the Camera". It raised some interesting ideas about super heroes and colateral damage ( although I thought the idea of Super Hero insurance had already been done in the Marvel Univers, not only with the farcical Damage Control, but in other books as well), the Ringmaster ending was BEYOND weak...and why hasn't any of this Terrence Hillman stuff come up in the outing storyline later on?

true, the price has jumped dramatically, but then again what hasn't in the last 20 years?
however, where other products that have risen in price, you get more than you did with comics. for one, the stories are, and artwork is (for the most part...) better. not to mention the higher quality printing/coloration processes. you now have computer enhanced coloring options and premium printing abilities that just didn't exist back then. these, too, cost money.
SW is taking less and less of my money these days, and comics are taking more and more. here's the list i'm buying this wed...
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #57
FANTASTIC FOUR #503 (#74)
WOLVERINE #4
X-STATIX #12
BATMAN #618
EMPIRE #2 (Of 6)
PLANETARY #16
SUPERMAN RED SON #3 (Of 3)
GI JOE CAMPBELL CVR #21
MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE VOL 2#6 (Of 6)
GHOST IN THE SHELL 2 MAN MACHINE INTERFACE #6 (Of 11)
HELLBOY WEIRD TALES #4
TRANSFORMERS GENERATION ONE VOL 2 #5 (Of 6)
i mean, holy crap! that's a lot of books! i wasn't even reading this much a year ago!
