What have you watched lately?

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

Watched The Last Kiss with Zach Braff. An enjoyable movie, one might say it is a chick flick strong enough for a man. Would recommend it

The Last Kiss was one of the most depressing films I've seen in ages. I had to go home and watch Schindler's List just to cheer myself up.
It reminded me a lot of Mystic River - great acting in a depressing fucking movie.

And Talladega Nights was nowhere near as good as people have said. It has it's moments, but Old School and Anchorman were far superior Will Ferrell movies. I wish I had only rented it or saw it in the theater.

And I finally got around to watching Flyboys yesterday. Awesome fucking movie.

Ewoks: Caravan of Courage. Not bad, for a kids' movie, and that's definitely what this is. I thought I'd seen it before, but didn't remember most of it.

Some of the effects are beautiful, especially for a TV movie, and some look like something a second grade class did for the school play. The story is formulaic, the acting is bad, and the 'Woks totally inconsistent with ROTJ.

But Chuka-Trokh kicks ass.

Rounded out the series with Battle for Endor today. A much better film, though still not stellar by any means. The effects are, generally, more fully realized. The makeup is excellent throughout.

Wicket talks English, though, which is retarded. And the story is still pretty basic and kid-friendly. . . aside from the massacre of the entire family in the first few scenes.

We need Noa and Teek figures so bad, it hurts.

Elmo In Grouchland starring the incomparable Mandy Patinkin! Seeing the regular show cast members reminds me how old they are. Gina used to be hot. Now she's just average as she's pushing forty. The rest og them are just walking cadavers at this point. Susan and Bob look to be about 100. Scary. Oh, and this movie is indisputable proof that Bert is gay. Bath salts? You are so gay, Bert.

I watched that too. Let me rephrase that. I turned it on to occupy the little one because she was driving me nuts and Elmo seems to entertain her long enough for me to prepare for the next round.

Just saw 12 Angry Men for the first time. (Can you tell that, now that I'm home during the day, I'm taking advantage of TCM On-Demand and the DVDs I've accumulated that Mrs Anarky doesn't want to watch?)

Freaking awesome movie. Peter Fonda is as great in that movie as Bridget Fonda is fuckable in just about every movie she's ever been in.

Willy Wonka & the Chocholate Factory because it was on HBO Family last night and I couldn't find anything else interesting. Then, to make up for the G-rated goodness, I watched the new episode of Cathouse afterwards.

Anarky's new crush, AnnaSophia Robb was in Willy Wonka. She was the gum chewer. Clearly, she was exercising her jaw muscles for when she turns eighteen.

I saw the original Willy Wonka. I wouldn't have watched the new one.
