I was rather disappointed by the Dreamwave attempt at the crossover. Poop on their heads!

I would do a stand alone about Blowtorch and Grunt. 2 nice boys alone on leave in Paris... they get a nice hotel room together, but "whoops" Blowtorch was SURE he asked for 2 double beds and there's only one! After a few cocktails, the boys put on some slow music and........
Think about those code names......

So this whole GIJoe/Transformers book rom Devil's Due just has the most generic plot ever. But I really like this Mike Miller chap's pencils. Very clean lines that I wouldn't mind seeing on a mainline book like Captain America or Batman or whoever...

I'm pretending to be MTV News. . . you hear it first!
Here's the skinny on the Joe comic relaunch:

First, glad to see the original series will continue. Next, the new series sounds like it'll be pretty decent, and most of the designs look cool. Third, uh, Doc's a chick now?

I'll probably check out those two one shots that start it off, and if they rock I'll grab the "Ultimized" GIJOE book.
I wonder when DC is gonna jump on the "ultimate" bandwagon with fresh Batman, Superman, and Justice League continuities?

Actually, they were first. They called it "Post-Crisis."

Oh, and hopefully Vyn won't banish me for post-padding, but I wonder if having a new continuity will give Devil's Due more license when it comes to killing characters in the "original" series? Some of these guys are getting pretty old. And, though I love them all (in a platonic way, of course), it'd be fitting to see Gung Ho or Shipwreck go out in a blaze of glory.
Or maybe that won't happen, as there seems to be little or no relationship between this series and anything Hasbro's putting out. Maybe the "GIJoe vs Cobra" line should die and be replaced with two better lines.

I wonder why'd they'd have to go this relauch route. In the military, people are moving up the ladder, leaving jobs, moving all the time. I don't see why it's such an odd idea to have the older joes moving on to allow for cool looking new people to take over their jobs, and maybe even code names in some cases. Lady doc could be Doc's niece, daughter, whatever you like. Relaunch Schmelaunch.

I always thought they probably wanted to go this route from the getgo, but they realized they'd got more readers if they "picked up" where the Marvel series left off. Now that they've established that Devil's Due can mack the mad Joe style, they can repimp the series, yo. What up, dog?

Cool Breeze should be the new team leader. You dig?
And the "core team" should be Roadblock, Stalker, Heavy Duty, Tunnel Rat, and I'm gonna get myself in trouble here.

So. Reread the last few posts as Niles Crane. Or Walter Cronkite. I can't decide which is funnier.

I've always thought David Hyde Pierce should record an album of gangsta rap covers. His version of NWA's "Just Don't Bite It" would be classic.

Non-blacks with attitude: Niles Crane rapping featuring back up chorus vocals by Joan Rivers, all hyped over one of those kickin' P-Diddy 80's jams.........
