Trailer Park Boys - Quotes and Discussion

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

I have the whole thing taped but I put it in on several different tapes so continuity is hard to come by- tonight should be a good one though, usually really strong episodes follow slightly weak ones (as last weeks was IMO stil, after a few viewings)

Season 4- the bit where the "Fuck-Ex" truck rolled and they tried to get another service to continue the delivery was pretty funny

Jesus, last night's "You lied to the old man. You lied to the fucking guy in the chair." from Ray, while he was standing up no less, had me pissing my pants. Better stuff last night.

Ray is fucking hilarious, one of the more "believable" characters on the show for sure
That scene where Julian was griling him about his 60$ was fucking funny

Well, interesting concept - but it's a little far from home for me.

Anyone see 5.6 last night? Another porno by J-Roc episode with some funny bits, especially Ricky and Randy squaring off again.....

Hey JJ- how was the finale?? of course I missed it again- I may try to be in the right place to see it tomorrow, but I'm still curious on how you felt it measured up to either previous "finale" episodes or even just the first 2 of Season 5 as we discussed

Well I thought the 2 part finale was almost as good as the first 2 eps. I'm trying to watch the whole season in just a couple of sittings now, to see the continuity and stuff, but I haven't got EP7 on my tape for some reason. I have to make sure I get it when it reruns - oh, in about 6 more weeks.

All I'll say is that there's quite the old gun fight, and it's really, really funny how it gets started - and it leads to a truly "startling" conclusion to the year.

I think though that I had been going a little too crazy on watching TPB as much of the humour seemed like I'd seen it before sort of thing. The Rickyisms just went off the scale toward stupidity - it's funny when you can imagine someone not hearing a thing properly and using that lingo, but these were way off that chart. "I sherance" instead of insurance for example.

Thanks for the "capsule review" JJ!!
Sounds pretty good, that'll do til I get to see it for myself
Ricky sort of seemed to be getting a bit nuttier, but watching the older espisodes, sometimes it sems like there was just SO MUCH going on that some of the finer points were easier to miss- plus it makes sense that as ricky becomes more "adult" in his mind, he would use more of the Bluster- he can't read too well and is always going off about folks using "big words" and I figure that he uses them against people whether he actually knows the word or not- I like it because a lot of Lannies will use words they heard on television- invariably TOTALLY mispronounced and usually in places where such a word wouldn't make any sense even if it were pronounced right
Still laugh every time I recall "I fucking ahtodeso"

I think, also, that Ricky is getting crazier- losing brain cells from all the "episodes" like the tranquilizers, the multiple bullets in the ass, the baseball bat beatings, the propane explosion and all that jazz

My God, the rerun last night was Barb proposting to Ricky.... she's down on one knee pouring out her heart, and what does he come up with?

"FUCK, I love licorice."

Jesus Christ, I almost pissed my pants even though I knew it was coming.

I finally watched my first episode of TPB. I started downloading a couple on Mabs advice and it was pretty entertaining. It was named "If you love something set it free" and had Steve French the mountain lion. I'll have to watch it again to be sure but I'm pretty sure I liked it. More later after I watch the other downloaded episodes.

You need to get the one called "Conky", it's a series highlight. The Christmas Special is also highly recommended, as would be the episode featuring Rush - appropriately entitled "Closer to the Heart".

Full length feature film due out this summer.

seen the trailer JJ???
And Slick was dl'ing the shit while I was talking to him, and the FIRST ep that was available was "conky" and I said "that's the one, get it" so he will have a review to add soon

Slick- it is a bit odd getting into it at first, make sure to try another episode as I think it was the second one I saw that made me realize that the show was inasane genius in a stupid package.. and I concur fully wih jj on the eps he cited, damn good stuff- the other I would add to that list is one who's name I don't recall (it's the one where j-rock loses his "black ness" JJ, called something about sunnyvale MC or something but it escapes me)

"I was getting CHANGED, Yo!!"

J-Roc Jackin' is what I call that one, but the official title eludes me as well. Fucking AWESOME, the heart to heart he has with his mom is priceless..... "you know Jamie, there was a time before you were born when I really used to like black guys" "Really mom? Really??? Thanks a lot!!!!"

They fucking toss Bubs up on stage to whet the crowd's appetite as well - absolutely awesome.

Ok, just got done watching "Conky" and I must say that guys have a real gem of a show up there. I actually laughed out loud to several parts of it. My favorite line though came from Bubbles (who is my favorite character) "Do you remember that time I was walking funny for a couple of weeks? I had a wing on my bird". Classic.
