Thanks. Diabolical - I'm recommending you pick up Daredevil 84, just so you don't miss the last page. I'm not saying anything else.

I think Civil War would have been more shocking if you hadn't read the big shocking event two months ago. And doesn't Speedball absorb kinetic energy? So why is he dead? I'm fairly certain Namorita woud've survived a blast like that also. Only Night Thrasher should be toast. And he should've been toast years ago. Anybody who fights crime with a skateboard needs to be beaten to death with same board. But I don't blame him, I blame the 40 year old fatman who created him who thought he knew how to reach out to the teenage readership everywhere by creating a skateboarding superhero. FUCK YOU TOM DeFALCO, you fat fuck....

Besides the ending, the rest of the issue was pretty darn good too. I may have to start reading Daredevil.
When did they start making Bullseye look like the movie version?

Ummm... I'd say just before issue #50? But I'm guessing. Either way, under Bendis he's a baaaad mofo. He always was under Miller too - but Miller knows psychos, as I've said before, better than anyone. He may in fact BE a psychopath for all I know.

I can't remember - but has anyone else stuck with Ms. Marvel? Good story over 2 books - with a third part/conclusion pending. I'll pick it up for sure. The only drawback is that Frank Cho isn't drawing his supa-sexy Carol Danvers in her own title... too bad.

I didn't bother with the third issue of Ms Marvel.

Bullseye was supposed to get his makeover in the Kevin Smith mini before the movie came out but it was delayed so long that he ended up debuting in DD. At first it was a tatoo on his forehead, but Matt carved his face up like a pumpkin and made the bullseye a scar. Murdock kicks the ass.

And who is the new Daredevil while Mattie's in lockdown? Clinton Francis Barton? he showed up in Civil War flipping a coin around. Is that some kind of subtle clue?

I think it might be Gladiator. They love the Miller homages.

Okay. ASM 532 is the reason why I read Spider-Man. After years and years of fights and web slinging, Shockers, Doc Ocks, and Ben Reillys - it's Peter I care about. What an issue.

I just finished the first 6 issues of the Brubaker Captain America, and it's very good (duh). I'd recommend the TPB to anyone who doesn't want to try and order the original copies over ebay, then send a lot of money to someone for them who won't send them for 2 months, and then will send you beat up copies.

Lot's of reading taken care of, so I'm officially "caught up" on Civil War (minus a crossover book or 6). I guess the last page of issue 3 was pretty exciting... but the whole animosity between Cap and everyone else is still a little hard to swallow.

When this is all said and done, I'm reading just Civil War 1-7 by itself to see if I needed to bother with Frontline at all. So far it's not doing anything for me.

Howard Chaykin was good on New Avengers 21 - I'd recommend picking that up for anyone who doesn't normally.... just because I don't recall Howard Chaykin having drawn anything for Marvel in a long, long time. The cover itself is worth the cost of the book.

Whoa! Just finished DD 87, and boy am I glad I did! Awesome suprise as to who the fill-in DD was, I can't wait to see the upcoming Brubaker project starring that character (he mentions one on the letters page).

Oh, and as per Brubaker - the dead have arisen again. Loving DD right now.

They let that name slip in the Civil War #1 director's cut. It was crossed out but you could still kinda read it. I'm going to love seeing what Bru will do with him. I would love to see what Bru could do with every Marvel Character. it's funny because when i read his batman stuff, it was okay but not great. Maybe because of McDaniels art, i don't know. i never read his Catwoman stuff.

What's New in the Marvel U?

This Civil War nonsense is overflowing.

Captain America is getting lost in the CW morass. But the Red Skull thing is pretty interestiing as long as it pays off big down the road.

Daredevil. The Matador is a little gay. Why can'r Matt just get back to Hell's Kitchen and bust heads?

Exiles. I dread Claremont taking over. probably because he will add his gay favorite characters like Lila Cheney and Callisto to the team and suck it right up.

Fantastic Four. More CW blowback. Sue and Johnny left the team and Ben moved to France. So basically its Mr. Fantastic, who is an ignorant douche.

Hulk. ooooh. Planet Hulk is good. World War Hulk will hopefully rock.

Iron Man. i don't read IM anymore. From what I can tell, Tony Stark is a big facist dickwad.

Moon Knight. This is a pretty good fucking book. And the art is wicked.

Ms Marvel. Dropped.

Punisher. Not too sure how this whole Punisher back in the regular Marvel U thing is gonna go. But I'll bite for a few issues.

Spider-Man. I am so dreading this re-boot Stracynski and Quesada and the others are getting all worked about. I think they are going to kill off MJ and Aunt May or something equally dreadful and stupid.

Thunderbolts. Hmmm....actaully having big name bad guys like Green Goblin and Venom and Bullseye? Interesting.....

Uhmmm....is there anything else in the Marvel U thats not X? It's so hard to keep up.

I'm just waiting for all this Civil War dust to settle to see if the big sweeping changes actually stick.

Yeah. When I read the crap they're putting out now, I totally wish I hadn't told Marvel I was stretching myself thin and quit the Captain America relaunch.

Man, that whole storyline is a ripoff of my "Planet Badrock" story, which is coming out next year in the pages of Strikeforce: Youngblood Brigade. I don't know how they got my notes this early in the game!

yeah, i'm pretty dissapointed in CW... it's just really pretty retarded. so the impartial bi-partisan look at both sides of the "issue" includes showing the guys that are for registration as maniacal inhuman fascists who clone souless thunder gods and conscript the aid of the worlds worst super-villains to bring in the heroes who won't register. wow. just, wow. WTF? this is what we needed to wait two months for? don't bother next time.
Life is short. STUNT IT!

I was disappointed with the stupid Civil War after the one issue I read. It still strikes me as a ludicrous concept, with even shakier execution. And I'm still bothered by the New Warriors going from altruistic heroes to money-grubbing idiots. Not that I was a huge fan or anything, but that's like Lois Lane suddenly deciding she wants to be a hooker.

Of course, Johnny Storm referring to heroes he fought alongside to save the world on more than one occasion as "third-stringers at best," especially when one was the cousin of his comrade Namor, was even worse than the rest of this tripe combined.

I officially read nothing by Marvel now. It's not anger over any particular event, like JJBeast wanted to make it seem like. Everything they're doing is just too mediocre of late. I can get better stories from a cheeseburger, and it costs 1/3 what their comics cost.
