Hey anarky! Did you ever sort out that wireless controller problem? If not, the Frye's electronics store here has a bunch of Nintendo Gamecube Wavebird controllers. They are $20.

For real-real? Are they used or new? (The closest Frye's to me is about 50 miles away.)

Brand-spankin' new. I was there a few weeks ago, and there was only 2. I went there earlier this week and there must have been 40.

Can you tell me exactly what Frye's that is?

My parents are coming down Saturday, and I can ask them to pick a couple up for us. I'm not sure if they live in the same area of Vegas as you or not (they're on the edge of Henderson), but they'd probably be willing to stop by.

It is on Las Vegas Blvd near Sunset near the airport. As far as I know, it's the only Frye's in town. If they take the 215 from Henderson going towards I-15, I'm pretty sure if they get off at the Las Vegas Blvd exit, it will put them right next to the store. If they are coming from the south of the store, there is a weird overpass they go over.

Gotcha. I smell a "Can you do me a favor on your way out?" phone call coming on.

Shit, definitely going to have to arrange this. It looks like they were $50 items. Wonder if Frye's just had a shitload or something?

I don't know. We went there a week or so after new year, and there were 2 wavebirds on the shelf. I meant to tell you earlier, but it slipped my mind. When I went there the other day, it looks like they busted open 2 or 3 boxes of them. It filled all the pegs and they had more laying on the bottom shelf.

I bought the Wii Mario Party for my wife for Valentine's day. We'll probably have to get a 3rd controller now...dammit.

Have you guys checked out Endless Ocean yet? I've read a little about it. It sounds like you swim around doing various missions: guiding tourists to checkpoints, photographing fish, and looking for treasure. Supposedly the music is good and relaxing. I'm guessing the game would put me to sleep.

Just got off the phone. They're gonna check the Fry's in Henderson (apparently there are a few around) since they won't be near the strip before heading down.

Good luck. I just checked their website. They only list the one near the strip.

By the way, for an electronics superstore, their website blows.

My brother just bought Endless Ocean a few days ago. I haven't seen too much of it, but it looks cool, even though it looks like it could get old rather quickly. I know you can load MP3s onto your memory card and can listen to them while you are swimming, but the player only recognizes ONE TRACK, so the Mp3 will repeat over and over, or you gotta merge MP3s or hopefully have a concert or something that is already in one big MP3 file; you can't load multiple mp3s cause it won't play them (fucked up eh? think that would be simple to implement). But anyways, it does look entertaining.

Costco has Wii games for $10.99!

They were marked as $15.99, and there was one of those instant rebates they're so fond of for $5 off. It wasn't marked on the floor. I picked up the Sonic game. There were a few sports games--I think a winter Olympics, a fishing game, and maybe a bowling one--and a bunch of licensed titles (Cars, Arctic Tale, and several less interesting ones). If I'd known before checking out that they were only $11, I would've looked more closely at the others. I've had my eye on Sonic for a while, and am glad I didn't get it at TRU when it was on sale for $25.

I finally got to play one of these last night, as my friend brought his over. Some of it was surprisingly fun, but as I really don't play video games much anymore, I don't think I'll get one.

So my friend got a Wii and I've been playing Wii Sports (which I kick ass in) and "Super Smash Bros Brawl" like a motherfucker. But hereabouts in Westchester, NY, Wiis are still in popular demand. They were sold out in all but one Toys R Us. It's unbelievable. I'm perfectly content with my Xbox 360, but I can see myself getting a Wii someday when the price goes down to $70 or below, just like the Gamecube did.

STILL not seeing them here at all. None since October or thereabouts.
