movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

Good, funny movie about sex and love with real sex in it: straight sex, gay sex, solo sex, group sex; It's all there and used as a part of the story rather than as a means for the viewer to spank it to.
It was made by the guy that made Hedwig and the Angry Inch (which I haven't seen, but hear its good).
Also, you'll never hear the American National Anthem the same way ever again.
Aw, thanks for reminding me about that part. I only watched about the first half with a friend (who I later briefly dated), but unfortunately she never wanted to reenact any of the movie's scenes.

You wanted to reenact the National Anthem scene?
And I thought you liked pussy.

Probably because it grossed less than $2 Million.
In the movie, Shortbus is the name of an underground sex club, named for the kids that rode the short bus, the gifted and "not-so" gifted, but in the case of the club its the sexually gifted and the sexually retarded.
Canadians may recognize Sook-Yin Lee from MuchMusic.

I have this one on the HD, but haven't watched it yet. Might watch it tonight actually.
I watched Alpha Dog the other night for the first time. And I must say, I really liked it. I was actually surprised at how much I ended up liking it. And the more I thought about it, the more I liked it. Yeah, its safe to say, I liked it! lol. (I posted a better thoughts/review at that other place).
BTW - Ben Foster is a monster, for those of you who were unaware. I love this guy.
"Once there were brook trout in the streams in the mountains. You could see them standing in the amber current where the white edges of their fins wimpled softly in the flow. They smelled of moss in your hand. Polished and muscular and torsional. On their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps and mazes. Of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again. In the deep glens where they lived all things were older than man and they hummed of mystery."
I saw Hellboy 2 last night. I enjoyed it much more than the first one. There's a lot more humor in this one, mostly thanks to the new BPRD member Johann Krauss. And Ron Perlman and Doug Jones are really great as Hellboy and Abe once again. My only complaint is that the end kind of dragged on for a little bit. But other than that, it's been a very good summer for comic book/superhero movies.
