Yep, I've heard of World War Hulk as well - but I was kind of hoping they'd get that over with between now and the summer. How long is Planet Hulk scheduled for, another 4 issues?

Okay, got my comics for the last couple of weeks. The only thing I didn't get that I was looking for was Midnighter 4 (which might not even be out yet) and Illuminati #2, which I did see but the only copy left was beat to hell.

Civil War 7
Spider-Man Reign 3
Astonishing 20
Dark Tower 1
Phoenix Warsong 5
Friendly Neighborhood 17
Sensational 35
X-Men Annual 1
Batman 663

No reading has been done yet, so I'm getting the fuck off here to go do that, Bitches. Holla.

Well, I read Civil War 7, and I wasn't nearly as disappointed as I thought I was going to be. The art, for me, was right up there with the rest of the series - very cool (especially the few drawings of Venom McNiven did - scary).

My "Oh Snap!" moment did come - thanks RB, for not spoiling the Hercules occurrence, that was excellent.

Nothing at all to do with Spidey in this issue, save for him pounding on Reid (complete with what may have been the worst Spidey banter I've ever read - yikes). I think they should have had whatever happens to him happen in this book. Disappointing from a Spidey perspective to say the least.

I liked how the book ended with Reid (speak of the devil) writing the letter to Sue, though it was a little more awkward than even Reid could have managed to be. Good idea, not so well executed. The art for that part made up for it, though.

So where do we go from here?

Avengers is getting split - "Mighty Avengers" (also be Bendis) is coming in a few weeks (along with Omega Flight, which I won't be getting even though I'm in Canada, and even though Beta Ray Bill is set to be on the team).

T'Challa and Ororo are going to replace Reid and Sue in FF - but will Reid and Sue still be in the mag?

A few other books are going to be carrying "the Initiative" banners, but I'm not adding any books to keep up with this (other than Mighty Avengers). I might try an issue or two of Sub-Mariner, but I might not as well.

I'm eagerly anticipating Amazing 538 which comes out on Wednesday, and also Frontline 11 so that I can get on with reading the latest issue of Avengers and the Back in Black Spidey books.

Dammit, not sure what's going on with my comic store - but that's 2 they've missed this past month then (I had to ask for a copy of Astonishing X-Men 20).

it is quite thorough, isn't it? i'm not sure if i want to make them no-spoiler synopses or total disclosure... or perhaps both? maybe users can decide whether to read the full disclosure one or the non-spoiler version?

Yep, quite thorough. It likely took me nearly as long to read it as it would have the comic itself!!!

The option might be good, but if someone wants a "synopsis", they most likely missed the issue somewhere and don't want to have to track it down. Maybe post a spoiler warning for those who don't understand the word "synopsis", but that's not even required. Dammit, I'd say leave it as is.

oh, it's not staying just the way it is, i can tell you that... i envision each issue page having a number of tabs across the top, one for the synopsis, one for a larger version of the cover (the synopsis will have a medium-sized version of the cover), one for reviews, etc... still figuring it all out. but it's coming along pretty quickly...

i've also got a major redesign in the works, too...

I was let down by ASM. Not that I wanted someone to die, but considering they said it was going to be huger than Civil War in terms of how it affects Peter, and the whole Back In Black campaign, and then all the other Spidey books coming out and we still don't know why he's wearing it. Ans then, POP. A flesh wound. In comics that's all that was. A big raspberry for that issue.

Civil War. yeah. No.

Iron Fist. Still doing okay. Nothing great, but it's good enough for me to finish out the first arc.

Illuminati. Wow. I was really dissappointed. Especially with the art. I love Jim Cheung's work and this just had a rushed cartoony look in everyone's faces. And I couldn't tell where it fit into continuity. There was no mention of Adam Warlock and the Infinity Watch anywhere. A real letdown from Bendis and Cheung.

Silent War. Just okay. I had recently purchased the infinitley better MK Inhumans series by Jenkins and Jae Lee. So Reading issue 1, then a really good Inhumans series, then coming back to this left it a little dry. No pop.

Oh, you picked up Silent War? I looked at it, but put it back. I have both the Inhumans limited series from back when the MK banner was up and running (a 12 issue and a 4 issue - not sure if Jae Lee was the artist on both or not). The 12 issue was very good, but I haven't read the 2nd series.

For me tomorrow:

Wolverine, DD, ASM (if it's still there - and I'll be pissed if it's not), X-Men, Frontline 11, Eternals 7..... and I'm not sure if there's anything else. Black Panther 25 maybe, and maybe Thunderbolts 110, 111, 112 if they have them. Warren Ellis rules.

At the end of Annihilation, Norrin Radd is once again the Herald of Galactus. But I assume you mean that prancy silvery star guy with the tail. I'm not sure who Red Shift is, but "Starfish" gives off a flaming vibe.
