As a veteran of many San Diego Comic Cons, this wasn’t nearly as bad.
I was kinda hoping to find at least one booth dealing in the old Decipher cards, but alas.
And the Comic selection was deplorable and overpriced. Didn’t get any comics.
But there were lots of cool vendors displays. Lego, Hasbro, Bandai, etc.
Here is my complete swag haul.

6" Maul & Obi Wan in the retro TPM packages - convention only or are we expecting those at regular retail as well? Not sure if I'll fall into the nostalgia trap or not, but I'd like to see them on the pegs.

No, those were the Hasbro exclusives for the show.
You could only get them from a lottery where you put your badge number in online before the Celebration.
We had 4 badges. 1 of them won the lottery.

The figures will be released, but the cardbacks are Celebration exclusives.

Which is fine. I'm opening those fuckers. Already have Obi-Wan on order if Amazon pulls through (always a 50/50 shot with them if it's not an exclusive).
But the big question: which of you fucking squirrel-fucking bastards is going to stink up Anaheim next year?

I highly doubt it. Too far and too expensive for me right now, especially with the kid on the way.
If it were back in Chicago again, I'd probably be there.

I can initiate discussions with the boss. This year we're going to BC as a family, maybe next year we could swing Anaheim again. It's like 15 years & we both love it.
EDITED: Negotiations were short. Was reminded that next year is our 25th & we're committed to a Rome/Greece trip that we've always wanted to take, in the late summer early fall. That will exhaust all $11 in my travel budget plus a big chunk of my credit line.

I know y'all are mostly not big into the books, but this ancient text a young Padawan named Qui-Gon Jinn came across in the archives (in the brand new Master & Apprentice novel) seems pretty fucking huge:
Only through sacrifice of many Jedi will the Order cleanse the sin done to the nameless.
The danger of the past is not past, but sleeps in an egg. When the egg cracks, it will threaten the galaxy entire.
When the Force itself sickens, past and future must split and combine.
A Chosen One shall come, born of no father, and through him will ultimate balance in the Force be restored.
Especially when you consider it had to have been at least partly written after the E9 script was at least mostly done, and Claudia Gray seems high enough on the Lucasfilm totem pole to be privy to at least part of the story.

Him. So who are we thinking, Palps? I'm honestly not in love with them finding "new" prophecies this late in the game, it's like adding a Captain Marvel level character right before the final battle with Thanos.... convenient.

It's not really a new prophecy. It kinda is, but no one ever wrote out the damned thing, even though it was referred to twenty damn years ago.

Let the nerdery commence again. I have to help people move today right at 1000, so I'm not sure if I can get to the store before that or not - I'm not even sure which books are being offered this year. Going to do some quick research now & find out if I need to be late to help move or not.

Ok, 3 more SW movies, plus
Disney will also be leaning heavily on their upcoming streaming service Disney+ in order to push forward the next generation of the franchise. It has “The Mandalorian,” a series for Disney+ as led by filmmaker Jon Favreau, and a “Rogue One” prequel series that focuses on Diego Luna’s character from that film.
Is that going to be the first Prequel to a prequel?
I didn't know they had a Gambit movie planned. Was Gambit even in any of the X-Men movies?

Channing Tatum had been attached to a Gambit movie for almost a decade.
