It's very one sided. Their actions don't reflect the speeches they give about upholding the law, yadda yadda.
Again. I could care less about the war. I just want the fallout to remain consistent with what they bragged about before it started.

It is NOT one-sided! It's a very bi-partisan look at an important social issue of our time: what are we going to do with all these heroes that won't regiser with the governemt? It's an allegory for the biggest concerns of our day, like: why is the government putting sterilizing chemicals in Kentucky Fried Chicken?

Are they bringing back the Original Captain Marvel? There's a Civil War: The Return one shot being solicited and the only thing on the cover is the star design from Mar-Vell's longjohns. Hmmmmm...

Read: Iron Fist #1. Not a bad little book, though I'm not sure I buy into the whole Danny Rand having a corporation like Tony Stark. Why can't superheroes just be Joe Schmos when they're not whooping ass?
The art was very cool, and I'll gladly stick around for the next 2 issues - I'm all about the Kung Fu.
Read: FN Spider-Man 14 - which was all well and good, except for Ben Reilly being in it. Jesus H. Christ, they never fucking learn.
Read: Captain America 24. Civil War implications abound - the Red Skull is (surprisingly) planning to kill Captain America. Who'd a thunk it? I really love the art on this volume of Cap though, it's just super.
I still have to flip through DD 91 and Sensational Spidey 32 before bed - but I missed Sensational 31 somehow, so 32 might not make a whole lot of sense.
****************************************
And now for a little rant to keep us talking until Wednesday - which is tomorrow, damn it. I should have done this on the weekend.
I'm sick of Wolverine. I'm sick of the fact that he can stick his claws in someone's face, obviously killing them, yet not fear prosecution. It's baloney. You want an interesting story, have him actually choose NOT to kill someone who deserves it, or possibly have him actually have to sweat through a murder trial (though they'd have to drag that out for at least 12 issues, which would suck even worse). This character is OLD and TIRED..... and used WAY (WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY) too much. And that sucks.

Wolverine was cool when he was "the bad boy" giving grief to "squares" like Chuck and Scott. Now he's Marvel's Fucking PosterBoy along with Spidey and Cap. hard to spit on the institution when you ARE the institution.
They should dissappear him for a year or two.

I just think things should be more realistic (and yes, I realize that I'm talking about comic books).
You wanna kill someone in a completely identifiable way, and leave a bunch of witnesses around - fly at it. Just expect to be dealt with by police, that's all. It doesn't paint a good picture to anyone that there are absolutely no consequences whatsoever for taking a course of action like that!
I don't know about disappear him, but it Origins would be a LOT more excellent if Wolverine was suddenly out of all his regular books and simply BEING that Wolverine. As it stands, I read Origins and see him psycho, then he's all nice again 15 minutes later when I read Avengers. There's no continuity here at all - and that makes it way to hard to suspend my disbelief and enjoy the action. At least I can still enjoy the titties.

Looks like Marvel is going to fuck things up again and throw out yet another Fantastic Four line-up.
Thisd image is titled "NewFF."

Methinks this will be short-lived and the original FF will be back together by...oh... next summer.

Who's to say this isn't the cover to Black Panther #33 or something?
I would love to see Black Panther in the blue "4" skivvies, though. Customizers, start your engines....

My mom keeps sending me those Spiderman reprints that come in the Sunday paper. The last batch she sent me were something like Vol 16, 17, & 18. Each of them had the same basic cover, but it looks like art from, different generations. The 3 books had a continuous story, with the same artowrk. They brought a robot into science class, Peter has a boxing match with what'shisname, Spidy fights aforementioned robot, and in the end, Spiderman fights the Human Torch. Was this story re-done a couple times or something? I'm trying to figure out why they had the same cover 3 times with newer artwork.
Also, there was an ad in the back of one of the books. I can't believe they want $15 for 5 issues of that reprint.

So what's new in the Marvel U? Nothing...cause this Civil War thing is still going on. Correct me if I'm wrong but this was the huge SUMMER event right Marvel? Anyway
Avengers will feel the biggest fallout from the Civil War as the for the first time since the West Coast Avengers, the premier non-X team in the Marvel U gets multiple title love. Mighty Avengers and New Avengers fight the baddies concurrently, but not necassarily together.
Amazing Spider-Man. Bad things are coming for the Amazing Arachnid. I have a really really hard time believing they will make Peter Parker a widower. And do they really want to make his life such a drag that people won't want to tune in? The black costume is cool, but at what price?
Black Panther. This is actually one of the maturest titles in terms of how the main character acts towards others. T'Challa is like the principal of super heros. Fascinating to read.
Captain America. If Civil War weren't interfering, this one would be the best told ongoing story in comics right now. Brubaker has done the impossible with resurrecting Bucky and making you care about what happens. In a crumbling marvel U, this book still kicks ass every month.
Daredevil. I hate talking this book up too much because it invariably backfires when it doesn't live up to its own hype when newbies come check out the title. But in all honestly I have to say, what Bendis and maleev did on this book for 50 issues, and what Brubaker is following them with is astounding. When people talk about "Great Comic Stories" they will have to put Daredevil being outed on that pile. Wowsers.
Exiles. Oh fuck. Claremont just came on board. Exiles, i will miss what you were. Claremont, you can go suck it. You fuck.
Fantastic Four. I'm not sure the title can be called that anymore since it seems to bounce around amongst the four former members. Especially that gay ass gaywad issue where Ben Grimm is in France. France?? C'mon Marvel.. Fuck you. Seriously.
Ghost Rider. Hey, this new series ain't bad. It's got a cool self contained premise with a definite conclusion that be stretched as long or as short as they need it to be. Ghost Rider needs to collect the 666 fragments of Satan's soul corrupting recently dead people. The more he collects together, the stronger Satan becomes on earth. And when all are in one body, Ghost Rider will drag him back to hell...
Hulk. With Planet Hulk almost over, we wait impatiently as Bruce banner's alter ego finds a way to return to earth and lay down a mountain of whup ass on the Heroes who wronged him.
Iron Man. Uhmmm.. I don't know I dropped this title awhile back. I do know that Tony Stark is now a douche in the Marvel U and continues to be a douche after Civil War.
Punisher. The MAX title continues to rock with boobies, swearing, vicious bloody violence and Frank being a complete psychopath. PWJ..not so much.
Wolverine. Origins continues to rock with violence, violence, more violence, and James being a complete psychopath. The regular Wolvie title...not so much.
X-Books. Hmmmm...I think there are too many X-Titles. Even though they got rid of millions of mutants, there are still enough to fill about six team books. Astonishing being the one you must read. Uncanny being the one you can read after being blown away by Astonishing. New X-Men being the one that surprises you by how good it us, but being unfortunate enough not to have any of the cool characters in it...except Rockslide. Adjectiveless X-Men has the double unfortunateness to be the book that Grant Morrison rocked on, then left, and of also being the book that Chris Bachalo and Humberto Ramos have been drawing for the past year or so. Ick. Excalibur has the unfortunate unfortunateness to be Excalibur. And I'm sure X-Factor rocks, but I need something to hunt down later on in life and I figure it may as well be back issues of this.
The only other ginormous thing going on in the Marvel U which nobody is aware of is this gigantic space crossover in a bunch of books that don't actually exist called Annihilation. This fucking thing is ten times grander, and cooler than Civil War. Because the Universe with a capital U is constantly expanding, it means the negative zone is perpetually dwindling in accordance. This pisses Annihilus off to know end, because he figures we are "stealing" his domain every second. So he and his omni-universally-never ending horde "invade" our universe, kick everyones ass, from Galactus to the Nova Corps, Skrull Empire to the Kree Empire and everything in between. Most of Galactus' Heralds are decimated, Silver Surfer is captured and turned into a battery, Quasar gets evaporated. So Richard Rider, the Last Nova and unlikely allies like Super Skrull, Ronan the Accuser, Drax the Destroyer, etc play the suicide card to try and save Galactus so he can in turn whup Annihilus' ass. This thing is HUGE and noone is reading it. How huge? They fucking punched Thanos' heart out of his chest. Infinity Gauntlet Thanos. Yeah. This book rocks. Spend the extra $3 every month and check it out, fools.
So thats the Marvel universe in a nutshell...for now.

Okay, so I need some help with Avengers 27.
From what I understand, Echo died fighting the hand and was resurrected, then saved by the Avengers (and was carried out by Spidey who was going to take her to McDonalds, iirc). Does that sound right? So who the fuck is in the Ronin mask at the end of this comic then?
*******************************************************
I could pull a GNT here and do 2 separate posts, but I won't. Topic #2: What would YOU have done with Civil War 7?
1. I'd have had the death in Spidey's life happen here, and I'd have made him completely responsible for it. That let's him get super depressed, which lets the new author alienate him from MJ, which lets her leave him if that's where they want to go for awhile. Options.
2. I'd have brought back real Thor, though I'm not quite sure what I would have done with him.
3. I'd have explained a little better that Tony was now in charge of SHIELD - I got it, but I think I had to make sure I was getting it (if that makes sense).
4. I'd have added a wee blurb about why Namor was attacking with the Atlanteans - "This is for my fallen brothers" or some such horseshit, accompanied by one of those editor's comments boxes describing what happened in Frontline. The don't use those very often anymore.
Anyone else? Killing Cap, though it may have been the original idea, would have been stupid. No one would have bought it, so why bother? The way it ended (Cap-Wise) was really, really good. I'm very interested to see where his own book goes from here - like REALLY interested.
