It is pretty awesome, but I see what everyone is saying about Bane's voice.
The audio wasn't that good, but I could understand most of what everyone else said. I caught about 25% of Bane's dialogue. The rest sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher. Hopefully they can tweak that in next 6 months.

I watched it. And I wanted to be excited because, yes Hardy is doing an awesome Bane, but honestly I have no fucking clue what's going on in that scene.
And neither do any of you.

Some sort of prisoner trade between the CIA and a rebel group of some sort. Bane is the leader. It looked like they were buying the freedom of a scientist with cash, and took the three prisoners because they supposedly knew something about Bane. Then the CIA dude tried to interrogate them, and Bane revealed himself, blowing up their plane.
My best guess is that Bane's true purpose was killing the scientist who developed the Venom formula and making it look like an accident on the part of the US.

Ahhh...okay. And the blood transfusion on the cadaver was to leave evidence that the doctor 'died' in the crash. That makes sense now.

Re: Batman Begins: The best superhero film of all time
I understood it too.
I don't know if this is fact or rumor, but I read somewhere that Bane doesn't use Venom as a super steroid like he does in the comics.
In TDKR, the "Venom" is the only thing that keeps Bane from being in constant, agonizing pain, so with it he feels no pain at all. And the delivery of the Venom is an aerosol via the face mask.
If true, it sounds a bit Bond villain-esque, but it will be interesting to see Batman face off against someone who doesn't feel pain.

I also read that fact/rumor.
I also read the movie takes place 8 years after TDK.
And I swear that when I was watching the new trailer in IMAX yesterday in MI4, the scene where Batman is fighting a crowd of thugs on what looks like courthouse steps (1:43 in the trailer) its Joe Gordon-Levitt in the Batsuit, not Bale.

I'm pretty sure that was confirmed by Christopher Nolan.Rollo Tomassi wrote:I also read the movie takes place 8 years after TDK.
Interesting, gonna have to wait for the clear version of the trailer to show up to check that out.Rollo Tomassi wrote:And I swear that when I was watching the new trailer in IMAX yesterday in MI4, the scene where Batman is fighting a crowd of thugs on what looks like courthouse steps (1:43 in the trailer) its Joe Gordon-Levitt in the Batsuit, not Bale.
It wouldn't surprise me though. I figured JGL would have a prominent role, plus all the Knightfall rumors/speculation.

Re: Batman Begins: The best superhero film of all time
I figure this is the DeFacto "All Batman Movie Topic" now do I'll post this here. Because I did most of my Xmas shopping for my kids at TRU I got 5% back on all my purchases in the form of Coupons and GiftCards they mailed me. Some of which expired on the 13th. So I picked up the animated Year One and Under the Red Hood DVDs for free today (I'm in a Batman mood. I wonder why?).
I honestly don't think I'd read Year One since it came out. And being a kid and new to comics at the time, I'm pretty sure I skimmed over all the Gordon shit, because I wanted to read Batman, not crime noire. That was a pretty good adaptation. And as a bonus, there was a 15 minute Catwoman short where she pole dances in a strip club. So bonus there.
Under the Red Hood was even better than the comic arc it's based on. And when you get right down to it, Jason's argument for killing Joker is way better than Bruce's argument for NOT crossing that line.
Also, while John DiMaggio isn't as great a Joker as Mark Hamill, he still had some great lines. "I'm gonna need some guys. But, y'know not THESE guys. Cause they're all, like, dead..."

Bender is the Joker?
I might actually have to watch that. I got it, but it was one of those "DCU animated movies I have to keep hidden from my elementary-age daughter who frickin' loves Batman" and I never got around to it.

Year One was a great adaptation. It was pretty slow at times, but I guess the comic was also.Rollo Tomassi wrote:I honestly don't think I'd read Year One since it came out. I wasn't a fan of the guy who did Bruce/Batman though. He just didn't seem to put anything behind it, like he was just reading the lines. Bryan Cranston was great as Gordon. Hell, he should play a live-action Gordon.
The Catwoman short was pretty good too.
Under The Red Hood was awesome. I've watched it a few times now.Rollo Tomassi wrote:Under the Red Hood was even better than the comic arc it's based on. And when you get right down to it, Jason's argument for killing Joker is way better than Bruce's argument for NOT crossing that line.

Bruce Greenwood is pretty damn good as Batman (he's no Conroy, but who is?).
Neil Patrick Harris as Nightwing? Win.
DiMaggio was just ok as Joker. There are a few total "that sounded like Bender" moments. But I did love his "Awww, you really do care!" line (or something to that effect).
Well worth a watch, but definitely not for the kiddo.anarky wrote:Bender is the Joker?

The 3rd DKRises Trailer. Lots of heavy foreshadowing. Kinda gives some major plot points away. And yet, doesn't really say anything. It didn't quicken my pulse is all I'm saying.

You kidding?
That makes Avengers look like the fucking Corman Fantastic Four (going just on trailers for both, of course).

Re: Batman Begins: The best superhero film of all time
I have no doubt the movie is gonna rock. I'm just saying that Trailer is a string of very brief cuts of nothin'. Shots of pensive children in school buses? A Stock Exchange getting shot up? Various characters looking mopey? Batman himself is in like six frames. And half of those are JGL. We already saw the plane sequence in full, so that's not new and exciting. Overall, meh.

One word: Bane.
I rest my case.
On another note, if this one is set several years after TDK, I wonder what sort of cameos and references we'll get?
DC/Warner is fucking retarded for not setting a comic book in the Nolanverse.
