With MCU "fans" right behind them.

The official site revealed a new Tynnan character today. I'm assuming this is the "EU species that's never been onscreen" that Headland has referred to.
A fucking Tynnan.
From Han Solo's Revenge in goddamn 1979. These fuckers are older than fucking Mynocks and Tauntauns.
So many "true fans" bitching about Disney making up stupid cuddly aliens because Disney sucks blah blah blah.
I kinda miss the days when us fans were weirdos and there wasn't much stuff coming out.

Well, Ki-Adi-Mundi showing up in The Acolyte seems to be a story shakeup on par with James Luceno telling us Sidious was really the apprentice through TPM and Plagueis only died offscreen in the last few minutes.

It's Star Wars. They are required to have some random cameo from another movie.
Any bets that
Qimir is the Sith Lord? Another thing that ties this to the prequels is how easy it can be to kill a Jedi.

who said anyone is a Sith Lord in The Acolyte? maybe they're a Knight of Ren.

I really hope not. It's so painfully obvious, it'll be disappointing if it's not a red herring.

The show has been using a lot of clichés, so it wouldn't surprise me if whatever his name is turns or to be the bad guy
On the other hand, I feel like that is a little too obvious.

It wouldn't make sense to introduce some new character 5 episodes into an 8 episode series, so the bad guy has to have some relationship to the past. So, I'm narrowing it down to Qimir, because why else would a Sith Lord hire a smuggler to cart his apprentice around the galaxy, or one of the witches that "died".
Once they reveal the bad guy, I'm betting that there will be another flashback to the fire.

I'm thinking maybe it is Qimir, and the Jedi defeat him. They won't entertain the possibility that he was a Sith apprentice, but think he's some sort of rogue Dark Jedi. Then the last-minute reveal of Tenebrous reflecting on the loss of his apprentice.
Headland really comes across as one of those EU geeks who will insist Legends is canon until explicitly not so, so I doubt she's going to change Tenebrous being the most likely Sith Lord at this time.

Episode 5 was both the best episode and had very lazy writing.

I haven’t watched 3 thru 5, but given how shitty the writing was in the first two episodes, that’s saying something.

Lazy? The main characters are twins, one is evil, they have a psychic bond, and they switch places. It must have been very difficult to get every twin stereotype into the story.
There is a fan theory....
Sol (sun) and Qimir (Qamar is Arabic for Moon) so they might be brothers.
