Back to the Future #1 - Two short stories by Bob Gale. How Marty met Doc and how Doc got involved in the Manhattan Project.

Darth Vader #11 - Vader hunts down Aphra so he doesn't get a spanking from Palpatine.

Karnak #1 - Some bullshit, waste of $3.99.

Star Wars: Shattered Empire #4 - Luke recruits Shara to save two trees.

S.H.I.E.L.D. #11 - Coulson helps Dominic Fortune gets back his casino boat. Worst issue yet, so it feels appropriate to have Howard Chaykin art.

I picked up SHIELD 11 and saw the Chaykin art and said "goddamit."

Karnak wasn't great, but it wasn't awful. I like that they're expanding a minor character and fleshing him out. I'll give it a couple more issues.

Because the character is so minor and he's never had a solo before, I feel like this series will be done soon anyway.
It just goes back to Marvel eating their own sales by carpet bombing the sales racks with books.

No, Karnak was fucking boring.

Although I am curious to find out how he gets the big hat and the ability to predict the content of envelopes.

16 books this week. Only two SW! books and 8 First Issues.

Agents of Atlas Oneshot. SW! I suspect this book was offered so that Marvel satisfies its obligation to publish certain titles to retain copyright on the name. But since we get a cool Agents of Atlas book, i don't care.

Amazing Spidey 2. Spidey and Prowler attack an underwater Zodiac base and release a Trojan spyware program to find every hidden zodiac base across the globe for SHIELD.

Astonishing Ant-Man 1. First Issue. It's eight months after SW. We find out what Scott Lang's been up to. Turns out he's back in prison.

Back to the Future 1. What DB said.

Sam Wilson: Capt America 1. First Issue. FalCap gets all political, flies coach, beats up some Fox News Channel guys, and gets Steve Rogers all up in his grill. Also, Misty Knight is rockin' a politically incorrect costume with boob window. And D-Man is a supporting player because editors don't do their jobs anymore. He was killed off in Brubaker's run. But fuck continuity amiright?

Deadpool vs Thanos 3. It's hardly been "vs" and more buddy cop as the "Toboggan Buddies" loll for their ex-gf Death. Hilarious stuff.

1872 4.SW! The conclusion of the Wild West version of the Marvel U. Kingpin is defeated, Red Wolf becomes the new sheriff.

Uncanny Inhumans 1. First Issue. Blackbolt is looking for his missing son. Kang is displeased by this. Also Johnny Storm is banging Medusa now.

Iron Man 2. Victor VonDoom has turned over a new leaf now that he's all mask less and not horribly disfigured and he wants to help Stark stop Madame Masque.

Karnak 1. First Issue. SHIELD needs Karnak's help finding a missing NuHuman.

SHIELD 11. GAAH!! Chaykin Alert! Chaykin Alert!

The Shield 1. First Issue. Another take on the original patriotic superhero. This time the Shield's got bewbs!

Darth Vader 11. This series is starting to feel like that movie where the cop is trying to solve the murder where he's the prime suspect. You're Darth fucking Vader man. Just force choke the fucking guy to death and go make a sandwich already.

Shattered Empire 4. Not sure how this leads to Force Awakens, honestly. You're still missing about 30 years worth of story.

Transformers 46. Optimus asks a Camien why he's so special. Other move makers make some moves. Galvatron, Starscream, etc

What If: Infinity: Guardians of the Galaxy Oneshot. The GoGs find out the Avengers have Thanos in Amber stashed on Earth. They go and kill him, then StarLord scolds the Avengers and tells them if they ever step foot off Earth again, he'll blow them up. I was gonna try to make the synopsis shorter than the title of the comic, because that's a ridiculously long title.

Only 12 issues this week. 2 SW! issues and 3 First Issues.

Angela Queen of Hel 1. First Issue. Angela took Hel so she could free her girlfriend from it. The issue flashes between present and past showing she got the job.

New Avengers 2. Sunspot's team saves Paris from the Maker's undead zombie diamond headed hordes.

Captain America 2. So this is the Marvel U's version of wiki leaks. Some mysterious guy wikileaked SHIELD documents and Sam took the whistleblower's side. Now Sam has to fight crime without SHIELD or Steve Rogers' support.

Deadpool vs Thanos 4. Final Issue. Wade gets the Capt Universe powers to fight Thanos and rescue Death from a jealous Infinity who kidnapped her. Funny and surprisingly epic.

Howling Commandos of SHIELD 1. First Issue. SHIELD has a special team of monsters locked up on a special helicarrier to fight occult stuff led by LMD Dum Dum Dugan. Which is extremely racist. Imagine if Marvel had a team of all Asians or all blacks. Or all women *coughAForcecough* Yuck. Dropped.

Secret Wars Guidebook. OHOTMU style guide with various events and alt universes related to SW, as well as its usual assortment of A-listers and D and F-listers. Characters so obscure I kinda sorta remember them.

Spidey 2099 2. Miguel wakes up in the hospital and finds his gf is dead. So he redons the Spidey suit to get revenge.

Squirrel Girl 1. Her second First Issue this year! The hilarity continues. Although my eyes hurt trying to read that hilarious tiny print at the bottom of every page.

Chewbacca 2. This series is needlessly inflated. The entire thing could've been a oneshot. I only got it because I needed to hit 12 books.

Transformers:Redemption oneshot. Slag is dealing with ptsd rage.

What If:Infinity:Dark Reign oneshot. While he's in charge of the Avengers, Norman Osborn finds out the Illuminati were holding the Infinity Gems for safekeeping and constructs the Gauntlet for himself and quickly dispatches Thanos when he tries to invade. Then because he has daddy issues, he erases his own father from the past in a fit of rage, and therefore also himself. Dumbass.

Where Monsters Dwell 5. SW! I only got the first issue of this, but I wish I'd gotten the rest of the series. It really has nothing to do with SW and is just a goofy Garth Ennis book about a despicable Phantom Eagle trapped in the Savage Land. Funny stuff.

Store C (busy week):

We Stand on Guard 3 - close to subscribing to this series, if I like this issue it's happening
Shattered Empire 3 - done, just need to read the last 2
New Avengers 1 - because you can't have #2 without #1, can you?
Cap White 3 - didn't even realize I had missed this - more reason to love Store A AND Marvel's release calendar

Chewbacca #2 - What DS said. Beautiful art, but it does get kinda confusing at times.

Kanan: The Last Padawan #7 - Started it, but I'm not sure I read #6 yet...

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #1 - What DS said.

MTMTE Vol. 8

Holy shit. How is it that a book that started this good right out the gate has gotten progressively better over four years?

Seriously, that final image (it ends with #44) is one of the most powerful endings ever. All those flowers. Almost makes you want to cry for the undeniable worst villain in the history of ever.

If this were anything but a licensed toy comic, every single Eisner award would be subtitled "(Second to More Than Meets the Eye)." It is that good.

ASM came out.
I also recommend Vision #1 by Tom King and Gabe Walta. The book least likely are the ones that surprise you. This is the new Hawkeye. At least the first issue was. The Iron Fist series started out good and quickly tanked. But for now id recommend getting the Vision if it turns out great. But it had me hooked in the first four pages.
