How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

As a SW fan who cares very little for the EU, I don't mind these changes because it isn't noticeable to me.

I do see Nark's frustration though because if I was into the novels and comics (I do actually have Approaching Storm on my shelf), it would piss me off for them to toss out so much stuff. I think it does a disservice to SW in general because a lot of fans do follow these different storylines and I think it could alienate people and make them lose interest, to the point of thinking "why bother" when the next book or whatever comes out.

As for Ahsoka, I don't hate her and I can (somehow) tolerate her but I also don't think she should have been put in there, they have PLENTY of cool shit to do with Obi, Ani, and the Clones along with the supporting Jedi that they didn't need to shove her in there. I hope she doesn't die in the cartoon, I hope she goes off on her own at some point to lessen the stupidity of Anakin having this off screen padawan in ROTS.

ROTS is still a cool movie, IMO.

Why doesn't the Y-Wing from the Clone Wars look like the Y-Wing from ANH?

It's supposed to have all the paneling and armor and decorations that'd been trimmed off by the time the Rebellion rolled around.

Of course, with the shortening of the timeline since the prequels started, they're much newer than originally expected, and they seem to have scrapped the implication from earlier sources that Y-Wings were already pretty old during the Clone Wars, and I don't think anyone expected them to have that much extra stuff on them.

i think they actually did a good job of 'paneling' the stripped-down y-wing. of course, judging by the 'rogue squadron' games, i'd hate to see how slow they move with all that added, as they were the absolute SLOWEST vehicle in those games.

Assuming you aren't hung up on continuity minutiae is this series any good? I haven't seen a single episode, but sometimes I see the seasons for cheap at WM and might get it for the kids. And is the original 4 episode story arc that was last minute retconned into a feature film part of the season boxsets or would I have to hunt that down separately. BSG was classy and put the miniseries into the first season, but that doesn't sound like something moneygrubber dickhead Lucas would cop to.

Yes, I like the series a lot. The early episodes can be somewhat choppy and the quality can vary from episode to episode, but not by too much. The DVDs you are seeing are probably just the four-episode compilations they put out, of which there are only two or three. The movie is only available as a movie, on a separate DVD release - it was never shown or released as individual episodes. StarWars.com tends to have the most recent episodes available for viewing, and will sometimes rotate them out for different ones.

I agree it's a waste...it's a movie set, captured on film for its intended purpose and "preserved" in that manner for all to see. The original one is gone and nobyd gives a crap about it, so why bother with the replacement from 1999?

Proof that I am still NOT over Star Wars:
3 weeks ago we saw Star Wars in Concert in Green Bay and it was awesome, my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it and my wife thought it was fantastic (believe me, she's literally seen each Star Wars film only once each, so she's not a dork like I am in that regard).
