comics rock. talk about them here. now. or just go to the "corn" section and wack off. i'll understand. i'll just sit here and read my spider-man comics.
For some reason, Bart left Keystone/Central Citymoved to Los Angeles and is a cadet at the LAPD training ( following in Grampa Barry's footsteps of becoming a police officer) and he gets accused of hiding something ( his identity) from the police. Well, there's a crisis, and rather than go through the hoops, he just stands up and says,"Yeah, that super villain trashed my locker because I'm the Flash and now I have to go save lives." and pops the costume out of his ring right in front of the detectives and everybody.

Eternal Padawan wrote:Sensational Spidey. It occured to me that this new lad who is Peter's Student if he had been experimented on would make the perfect new Spider-Man. They could reboot back to high school and he's got the good looking girlfriend, and instead of Aunt May, he's got the good looking single mom which would open up all sorts of intersting story lines. Peter is such a downer lately and they've written him into a corner, this might likely be a way out and have Peter take on a mentor role. You heard it here first.
interesting theory... this is the kind of stuff i need over at wallcrawlersweb.com!
it sounds cool, which means that it probably won't be the thing that happens, but still... cool idea.
MJ doesn't realize all the hot "webbed to the ceiling sex" she's going to be missing out on if she leaves Peter. I bet she'd be down with a three-way if it meant getting to stay in Peter's bed. And Peter's got spidey strength. He could toss two chicks around all day and never get tired.

My reading time has bee kinda spotty this week so I've only read about half my pile. Here's what I've read so far.
Daredevil. The tense gripping lawyerly issue! With lots of law talk! And the occasional Daredevil appearance. I'm just kidding. Bru and Lark keep up the kickass series leading up to DD 100.
Exiles. Can somebody just cut off Longshot's mullet already?
Fantastic Four. Damn. Another cool issue, with Black Panther OUTMANEUVERING Silver Surfer. Then pussying out and running like a school girl ( I know thats not what really happened, but they want it to look that way). I am liking this new team. I still think the Reed/Sue thing needs to stay ugly for awhile. Not be all smoochie honeymoon first thing.
Silent War. The scene where BlackBolt runs out of the blue area to unleash a Silent Scream of agony was great. And I didn't know he and Medusa had a son?!? When/what/where did this happen?
Fallen Son: Avengers. The traditional poker game seemed misplaced in this issue. But Spider-Man going off on Wolverine was very powerful.

What did I read yesterday. So many books, i don't know if I can remember them all.
GIJoe. Leading to showdown between Baroness and Cobra Commander, and Destro is in the middle of it. What people really want to see in this book is lots of Snake-Eyes doing cool ninja shit, and sadly DDP seems adamant about making this a "team military book". It looks like they are gearing up for something HUGE and it better pay off or this book is getting dropped.
Transformers. Optimus blasting Megatron point blank in the face? Fucking sweet. Having to wait endless months for the next mini series to start because IDW is fucking around with Movie adaptations and shit? Fucking lame. Simon Furman tears open all kinds of sack with his boot.
Teen Titans. Annnnnnnnnd....thatwasgay. I feel sorry for Deathstroke that he got used in such an unfortunate story. All that build up...for THAT ending was smelly. Why can't he just be a badass instead of secretly a huggy touchy feely pussy inside? i may have to retcon the whole thing out of existence.
Sensational Spider-Man Annual. Fraction writes a compelling story of why Peter and MJ love each other so much. I rather enjoyed it. And Salvador Larocca arted the book up great.
Friendly Neighborhood Spidey. Aha! A loose end to the craptastic "The Other" saga finally gets tied up! Now i can drop this book satisfied that it will be cancelled soon.
Astonishing X-Men. More wondrous and delightful comic booking by Whedon and Cassaday. But the absolutely best moment in the whole comic was when Kitty disrobes for Peter. The "come fuck me" look on her face in the second panel... I just..I..I love you Kitty Pryde. Wow.
Hulk. Setting up for World War Hulk, with She-Hulk, Doc Samson and newcomer genius boy Amadeus Cho. The Illuminati is worried. They should be. My only concern is that this crossover has the potential to be HUGE, bigger than Civil War even, and it won't pay off.
WWHulk Prologue. Didn't read this yet, but I'm excited to.
Loners. Second issue focuses on former Slinger Riccochet. Cebulski is an original writer who gives these characters an odd "recovering alcoholic" slant. You know it will inevitably devolve into a superhero smackdown at some point, but it will be fun getting there.
Iron Man. All the political/bureaucratic intrigue of Tony running SHIELD is interesting story that regulates Iron Man aspect to the background of the book. I've been noticing that pattern more and more in books I read. The talking heads fascinate me and I can plow through the fight scenes in five seconds because there is never really anything new there. Tony Stark is still a douche, though.
Punisher MAX. We finally get the back story of the woman helping Frank. Damn, Garth Ennis can get brutal. Its scary to think he can keep pulling these kinds of stories out of his head. This is consistently one of the best books out there every month though. Compelling, you cant turn you head away, and occasionally there are boobies.
Dark Tower. Haven't read it yet. But I already read the book, so I have read it yet. I know how it ends.
52. Normally I don't review this one unless something exceptional happens. This is the final issue. I DID IT. And overall, it was a great read. The last issue focuses on Booster Gold and Rip Hunter, TimeMaster saving the multiverse from a bug alien guy. Next up: Countdown!! Jimmy Olsen DIES! ( Hurrah!)

Astonishing X-Men #21 - Another solid issue but wasn't incredible. And did Cassaday just give up when it comes to drawing Danger? It looked like an unpolished piece of shit. And Kitty Pryde is hot.
And I finally figured out what these Breakworld creatures look like: The Grinch.
Punisher #47 - Wow, almost to issue 50! Somehow Ennis can write a great Punisher story with very little Punisher.
And for Free Comic Book Day I snagged 8 books:
Comics 101 - Very cool book on creating comics, a Cliffs Notes type of the history of comics, and more.
How to Draw - A collection of Wizard's drawing lessons. Fairly good stuff.
Family Guy and Hack/Slash - Family Guy was as bad as The Simpsons comics and Hack/Slash was decent, but not enough to make me want to buy it.
The Amazing Spider-man - Dear God, why would Marvel put this piece of shit out as a showcase? Retarded ass story (Jackpot - are you fucking kidding me? And the villain is a Spidey fan? Ugh.) and great art...from a guy that tries way to damn hard (Is early 90's Image hiring?).
Justice League of America - Made no fucking sense.
Pirates vs Ninjas - Pirates? Ninjas? Sounds awesome, right? *sigh* Printed poop. And why did have a $.50 cover price - on FREE Comic Book Day (and no, I didn't pay for it).
Whiteout - Not bad, but I was really pissed when I found this wasn't a self-contained story. Its a damn reprint of an old first issue!
Unseen Peanuts - Probably the best of the bunch. I'm not a big Peanuts fan, but its pretty cool to see some of these strips that haven't been seen in 50 years. And seeing Charlie Brown being an asshole and Snoopy in the electric chair is priceless.
Also got the cool Fantastic Four 2 poster.
