Steve McNiven is another guilty party. I think Joe Mad has announced more projects than he's actually produced issues.

I was under the impression Cassaday and Immonen and someone else were gonna rotate arcs on Star Wars. I could be wrong though.

Could be the case, I was just assuming he got behind again & had to tap out. Looking back, he must have been under some serious duress to complete the full Astonishing X-run.

I hope Cassaday is done with Star Wars. His issues looked like shit.
The only person worse in comics is Steve Dillon.

And you loving Ennis have suffered a lot of Steve Dillon, haven't you? I don't hate him as much. His work on Preacher, from front to back, provided a consistency that I found really benefited the book. Every time they had someone else draw the characters (in specials & whatnot) they just didn't look right. He's absolutely guilty - maybe the MOST guilty - of making everyone look the same though.

Ennis. Dillon. Punisher.
2 out of 3 is still a win.

The fact that all his people look the exact same is his #1 problem. He also has a cartoony style that usually doesn't fit the work he gets.

16 more books this week. That can't continue. Have to start culling. 4 First Issues and one Final Issue which is also a Secret Wars issue.

Amazing Spidey 1.1 Oh here we go again with the decimal bullshit. A man comes back from the dead and Spidey decides to investigate for no reason. It says guest starring the Santerians like that means something but I have no idea who the eff they are. If I wasn't a goddamned ASM completist....grrrrr.

Deadpool 3.1 Or as they say 'Tres Punto Uno.' So in Mexico, Deadpool isn't called Deadpool, he's called Masacre. Marvel decided to run with that by introducing a Mexican copycat called Masacre that DP has to go deal with. And the entire book is written en espanol. I'd probably enjoy it more IF I SPOKE SPANISH.

Hercules 2. Rounding up to 16 earned this one a purchase of last week's rack. Herc continues to fight mythological beasts and earn back his title of hero. Pretty good stuff and Luke Ross' art fits.

Illuminati 2. Also picked up to round up to 16. It was either this or Web Warriors. I hate writers that bring back dead characters with a hand wave and a dismissive line of dialogue. Also I hate Black Ant because he's a constant reminder that Remender is an asshat that ruined Eric O'Grady.

All New Inhumans 2. Crystal and her peeps head to the fictional Marvel version of North Korea to deal with any NuHumans that might have popped up since the terrigen cloud came thru. It's funny that Sin Cong exists when Deadpool, Steve Rogers and Wolverine all invaded the REAL NoKorea a couple years ago.

Uncanny Inhumans 3. The aged time displaced Ahura explains his hatred for his parents and how he replaced Kang ages ago before a heartbreaking brutal battle with the Inhumans ends in whatever the opposite of patri/matricide is. The Medusa vows to go back in time and save Ahura before any of this went down. This book is fantastic.

Ms. Marvel 2. Kamala figures out Hydra has invaded New Jersey and is using her likeness to promote their gentrification bs. Also she's dealing with boy issues.

Silk 2. Silk is having a tough time trying to do her job at the news station as well as pulling double duty as hench to Black Cat AND being an undercover op for SHIELD. She's getting NO sleep.

Squadron Supreme 1. FIRST ISSUE. Oh fuck no. DROPPED like a leaky diaper.

Squirrel Girl 3. More hilarious time travel hi jinks. Marred by the fact there was only one issue to pick from and it had scuff marks and shit on the cover. This continues to be the funniest book on the racks. Highest recommendations.

Starbrand and Nightmask 1. First Issue. SB and NM eschew Bobby DaCosta's invitation to join the AIMvengers and instead enroll in college where presumably wacky college hijinks will ensue.

Darth Vader Annual 1. Darth Vader is a supreme coldblooded badass. Nuff said.

Thor 2. Thor is an outlaw in Asgard because she kept the hammer against Odin's wishes. Malekith is enlisting a team that includes Enchantress and Loki. Since both of those characters have had significant developments over the last few years I hope there's a good reason either of them would sidle up to Malekith and it's not just a reset to them being common villains. That would suck.

Ultimate End 5. FINAL ISSUE (and also SW). This is it. The last issue of the Ultimate Universe. Everybody just kinda fades to white. Lackluster. Except Miles, who gets to live on in the Marvel U.

Weirdworld 1. First Issue. You're dropped into the middle of a story where a passenger jet crashes in Weirdworld and a single survivor has to figure out what the fuck is going on and how to get back to Earth with the help of a female barbarian warrior driving a pimped out Cadillac ragtop. Intriguing enough to get the second issue.

All New X-Men 2. Baby Cyclops is all butthurt he keeps getting compared to the "super mega evil" adult Cyclops who did something super duper horrible.

Squadron Supreme - oh HAYLE no - not after Robinson smeared shit all over the FF like that last year. Fuck him & whatever team book he even so much as looks at for the next little bit.

The thing is, the premise is a decent one. It's leftovers from other Squadron Supremes trapped in our world.
The Nighthawk from Supreme Power.
The Dr. Spectrum from the world the Illuminati destroyed in Hickman's run.
The Hyperion from Hickman's Avengers.
Then Blur from D.P.7 in the New Universe.
And Princess Power from the "classic" Squadron.

But apart from that, it was all ass. Robinson is a supreme tool.

The cover alone makes you look twice, but no. I didn't hate Robinson before last year but he's on the shit list as it currently stands.

Oh, and I should re-read JMS Squadron Supreme - everyone should. That was awesome.

G.I. Joe Vol.13: Okay, Hama, you are completely forgiven for the outlandish nonsense of the previous installment. This is just damn good stuff. Like "prelude to the invasion of Springfield" good, or "everything between the Snake Eyes Trilogy and Destro: Search and Destroy" good.

No joke, I was wondering if I was just turning into a cynical old bastard for not drinking the TFA Kool-Aid, but I read this and realized, no, I can still appreciate a good story.

Store B: Chewbacca 3 & Lemire X-Men 2 - can finally get caught up on both of those.

Thoughts on Batman? I thought it was a pretty excellent comic with a good twist. Looking forward to the next one (which I appreciate it already out, but I won't get my copy until after new years ><)

It was alright, but I don't know if I want to spend $6 for every issue. The week between Christmas and New Year is generally a small week for books so I might grab issue 2 just to hit 4 books. But unless it totally blows my socks off I'm out.
