Store A

Guardians 6
Dr Strange 6
Waidvengers 6

DKIII III hardcover

Missed Vision 5. Will need to go back to Store B - all good as I need a magazine-sized short box & some bags & boards as well. I also saw 2 of the Thanos by Starlin graphic novels there & had a hard time not purchasing them, I think they're coming home next time.

Back to Store B. Got Vision 5 & the 2 Thanos OGNs. No idea how to store these properly, but I guess once the plastic wrap is off they're not going to have much value left anyhow.

Unless it's a super thick TPB, I usually find silver age bags without a board in them fit most GN sized books. Some more snug than others, but it keeps the dust and smudges off them. Otherwise I just slide em in the box. If they're that thick, they're usually sturdy enough to not get bent and shit.

12 this week. Left more on the racks than I'd like, but have to cut somewhere. Two Firsts this week.

Amazing Spidey 9. After getting sidetracked with other villains, Spidey resumes taking the fight to Scorpio. He and Nick Fury Jr head into space on the Spidey Rocket to fix a satellite or destroy it. Then Spidey free falls from space all the way to Paris.

Uncanny Avengers 7. Standoff. The Unity Squad heads to Pleasant Hill. I'm pretty sure Synapse's power is to yell "My power doesn't work on that guy!" Because we're only on issue 7 and she's gone to that well at least half dozen times. Her power has NOT worked more than its worked in her brief few appearances. Useless.

Doctor Strange 6. In a last stand against the Emperikul, Strange uses the last of Earth's magic to stop him/them. It doesn't work.

GIJoe ARAH 226. Destro and Zartan's forces invade Springfield.

Guardians of the Galaxy 6. Starlord takes the most inopportune moment to bitch about his life. Then he gets kidnapped by Badoon.

Howard the Duck 5. With the help of the GoGs and Silver Surfer, Howard the Living Nexus stops the Collector from making him part of his collection.

Infinity Entity 1. First Issue. Sequel to two OGNs I haven't read, and setting up another OGN I won't read. An alternate dimension clone of Adam Warlock has amnesia and...y'know what. Dropped. I'll find you in the dollar bins later.

Mockingbird 1. First Issue. Hawkeye's ex-wife gets her own ongoing(mostly because she's on TV now). This was a decent issue, but what sold me on sticking with it was the letters page and the writer's plan for the next few issues. Intrigued.

Spidey/Deadpool 3. Spidey, Wade, and Wade's Merc's for Money fight drug cartels and Styx and Stone in Bolivia. And Spidey meets DP's daughter.

Thor 5. Thor kicks Odin's ass out in space. But what's truly horrifying is all the amazing character development for Loki over the last several years gets flushed down the garbage disposal, so he can be a boring villain again. Yuck.

Transformers MTMTE 50. Another expensive giant issue. I don't want to ruin the heartbreaking plot twist. 50 magnificent issues. The recap page was brilliant. It's sad those don't make it to the Trades.

Vision 5. Now that Tom King has signed an exclusive deal with DC, this series just became finite and that's a little bit sad. Vision talks with a detective about the murder of a boy and tells the tiniest lie that will ruin everything. This is one of those books that if I was smart and had extra cash I'd be buying several copies of to resell on eBay in a couple years when it's a huge hit and HTF first issues are going for $50.

I liked Infinity Entity, it was very silver agey without the cigarettes & the talking down to women. ;)

Looks like he'll be on the book through issue 12, telling the story he wanted to tell "without a single compromise."

12 issues this week. A couple of dinged up covers made me rethink my strategy this week. I left copies of Silk and Starbrand/Nightmask on the rack because their condition with bent corners and scuffing, so I picked up some leftovers from the previous couple weeks. Only one First Issue this week.

Ant-Man 6. Cassie Lang is tired of sitting on the sidelines, so she goes to the Power Breaker to get a new super villain identity; The Stinger.

Deadpool:Mercs for Money 2. DP and his team solicit bids from various ne'er do wells like Mephisto and Caroline LeFay. Meanwhile Taskmaster teams up with Evil Deadpool.

Hercules 4. Gilgamesh gets caught and Herc has to rescue him from some old pre-God era chick who wants to destroy all the new modern era gods like God of the Internet and God of liposuction.

Uncanny Inhumans 6. Blackbolt keeps order in his new bar. And the Capo returns.

International Iron Man 1. First Issue. Bendis and Maleev reunite for IMs second ongoing title. Tony is looking for his real parents, and this flashback issue shows Tony was using modern hipster lingo like "sick burn" 20 years ago when he was in college.

Poison Ivy 3. Dr. Isley's coworkers continue to get killed. And she's only killed one of them, so it's a mystery that needs solving. Catwoman shows up to help, mostly so Clay Mann has an excuse to draw hot women in skintight outfits.

Spider-Woman 5. I skipped last issue, but Jess had her baby and the cover drew me in. No, that pun wasn't intentional.

Transformers 51. Optimus continues to make bad decisions for generally decent reasons. Like imposing his leadership on a world that doesn't want his kind. GTFO Optimus!

Transformers Deviations Oneshot. IDW's version of What If asks what if Optimus hadn't died during the movie? The answer is, Hot Rod makes a series of jackass decisions that gets Ultra Magnus, Springer, ArCee, and Perceptor killed before he shanghais the matrix from Prime and kills himself using it to destroy Unicron.

Wolverine 6. Wolverine and her sisters take down the Alchemax Genetics lab. I forgot who Kimura is, but she's back.

All New X-Men 6. While fighting the Blob, a bunch of the X-Men do a bunch of mopey navel gazing. And Scott gets hit by a car and kidnapped but nobody noticed and it's like their third top priority after being mopey emo bitches and fighting a third rate villain who was pretty much minding his own business eating dinner when they attacked.

ExX-Men 8. The Apocalypse Wars begin. Sugar Man has saved 500 mutant embryos and wants to send them somewhere where they won't be affected by the Terrigen cloud and M-Pox. Which sounds quite reasonable to me. But the X-Men attack him anyway, and Colossus and his training team(Anole, Glob Herman, Martha and Ernst) get zapped a thousand years in the future. By the time the rest of the team shows up, the training team are adults and Colussus is one of the new Four Horseman, along side Deadpool, Moon Knight, and Venom(?).

actually set foot in a comic store for the first time in years yesterday. they had the new run of ASM from 001 through the present, and i wanted to get the first few issues but was late for an appointment so i didn't, thinking i could hit it on the way back and then didn't have enough time after. so i almost bought my first comics in years, but then didn't.

Post for no reason (ok honestly I had to delete a weird one that showed up twice from earlier for no reason).

Vynnie, honestly you're not missing much. The entirety of Dan Slott's Spider-Man is a What IF story as far as I'm concerned. A very, very, very long & drawn out and never ending What If story. :(

still, it's spidey, and i need to get caught up. i don't care what 'reality' it takes place in. is there a TPB of those issues already? it would most likely be cheaper than gathering the floppies.

Man you'd be getting trades back for about 5 years worth. I'm sure the new ASM has at least 1-2 volumes (likely 1 with a 2nd on the way in the next month or so), then back before this current ASM the only Spidey book was Superior Spider-Man which went for about 5-6 trades worth (35 issues or so). Before that, ASM ended at 700, the last 100 or so issues written by Dan Slott - Christ he started back when Stracynzki left as one of the revolving writers when ASM went weekly if I'm not mistaken.

And if only that were all - they went batshit with ".1" type numbering, which makes it tough to know if you've got a full run or not. I can see someone selling a full run only to have the buyer complain it was missing both 11.1 and 18.1, which they did in certain volumes (not sure how much Spider-Man was affected by this, but it WAS affected).

If I could go out on a limb, I'd almost suggest paying for 1-2 months of "Marvel Unlimited" or whatever their comic netflix is called, and reading as much as you wanted online. It would likely cost you less than 10 percent of what the trades would cost, even used copies.
