Call me a fucktard, but, for days, I keep looking at my inbox, not seeing the Miis, and forgetting when I'm here to ask. But tonight I can't sleep for some reason, and was playing with Miis, and found them in my Mii Plaza. Was the whole point to prove you're not Jack Black since your Miis are in one place at the same time?
Fiddled with making a Joker (at least as close as possible without the colors). Realized he looked like Beavis, changed him up a bit, and saved him as such. Also made a pretty decent (I think) Zartan. He goes with the suckass Snake Eyes I did a while back.
I kinda hope Nintendo eventually does updates to the Mii channel, adding new features (there's no mohawk!) and colors, and also adding the ability to edit copies of Miis and save them under new names.
On to Speed Racer. This game is quite fun, though I'm a bit hesitant to recommend it wholeheartedly (until it's $20 or less) due to several limitations. I didn't think the limit to two players on multiplayer would be a drawback, but multiplayer is so much fun, it sucks that you have to take turns if there's more than one person playing. Also, several championship features (like rivals and allies) simply aren't available in two-player, and you can't do anything other than single races.
Oddly, the likenesses of Emile Hirsch, Matthew Fox, and Christina Ricci are dead-on, and the voices are pretty close (can't tell in all cases if it's the same person or not). But Taejo, a pretty fucking important character, is so far removed from RAAAAAAIIIIIIINNNNNNNN!!!!! (sorry, Colbert-related joke) that he's absolutely unrecognizable. Why?
Also, the unlock feature is a little boring. Win a championship, unlock a racer. And they're all in the game from the beginning. Mario Kart does this much better, where stuff is sort of at random. And why not do some unlockable characters from the cartoon if you do something really advanced (sorta like Transformers did), or have some animations of, well, pretty much any sort?
These are all minor quibbles, but the big suck factor: only one saved game. Mrs A and I like to have our own saved files, so we can each progress through. But on this, well, she started one championship. I can't start another without deleting all her data. How fucking complicated is it to have more than one save file? It's pretty unusual to not offer that.
Still, once it comes down in price (or is on sale), it's a damned fun game for all its faults. Too bad there likely won't be a sequel to it that improves upon it. Oh, and the Wii Wheel works far better for Speed Racer than it does for Mario Kart.
