MCU Topic

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

i figure Vision went to the site of his last memory - Wakanda. we'll see him in BP2.

overall i'm satisfied with the conclusion. apparently there was a whole scene where Monica/Photon, Fietro, Billy, and Tommy try to get the Darkhold from Agatha's basement only to have to fight a demonic version of Senor Scratchy, but it was cut for time and because they didn't have the runway to get the VFX done. they finished the last episode 2 weeks before it was released.

Wanda and Vision's house is the same house from Christmas Vacation. https://www.dirt.com/feature/wandavisio ... 203361908/

No wonder I didn't recognize it, it's changed a lot over the years.

That entire street is on the Warner Bros Ranch where I used to work. The Lethal Weapon house is a house or two over.
The green house across the street is the Pushing Daisies house. I saw it and was like ‘woot woot!!’ and got excited and my people told me to STFU.

But I digress, I came here to ask an MCU question.
When you were growing up reading old comics, how did you pronounce Shang-Chi? For me it was [rhymes with Bang]- Chee.
When I see interviews/promotions for the movie they(Kevin Feige et al) keep saying it different ways, like Shawn-Kai and shit.
How did you say it?
"No Tom Foolery today, Ron. I'm tired of looking at your dreadful, speckled mug."
"Why do you hurt me in this way, Harry?"
”It’s a grid system motherfucker. Eleven up and one over, you simple bitch.”

Never read the comics, but I would pronounce it the same way as you, also.

Maybe pronouncing it wrong is a side effect from seeing Joss Whedon's wall of Vision dick pics.

Same, even though I believe "Chi" should be "kee," so we're all wrong.

And where are you seeing promotions? To me, it seems like they're trying to quietly bury both this and Eternals.

Nah, they're just focusing on one at a time like they usually do.
Falcon and The Winter Soldier first.
Black Widow next.

I watched Infinity War again and realized I lost track of who is alive/dead after Endgame. Is Loki still alive? I'm assuming a version of him is alive, kind of like Gamora, right?

yes, Loki grabbed the Tesseract in the lobby of Stark Tower after the battle of New York and disappeared into a space portal. so the more 'mischievous' version of Loki that we know from Thor: Ragnarok is dead, but the more 'evil' version from The Avengers is alive.

it looks like his series is next in line after FatWS, because it has its own series page at D+, and "What If...?" does not yet.

While I find the Marvel/DC rivalry ridiculous, Marvel has been crushing them on screens. I'm excited about Falcon & Winter Soldier, and couldn't give two shits about Justice League: The Monochrome Cut.

I love that people are railing against the "New Captain America" in real life, like that's not the actual point they're making in the show.

I like that Sam and Bucky both were kinda set adrift after Steve left for his "get a life time tour", and they're trying to figure out where they fit in now, and the deep, personal stories they're diving into for both of them.
