Fuck me and my short term memory in the goat ass... I wonder how many other nuggets of golden information like this I've read and forgotten mere minutes later? Likely thousands.....

I've been reading Thunderbolts and am now caught up to 116 and the first one-shot (well, the first recent one-shot anyhow). It's okay, I like to read it (hell, it's Warren Ellis).... but I'm not going to pursue it any further because it's just too silly. Even for comics. You just can't have the Green Goblin in charge of a team of bad guys that eat parts of people. Nope, can't. Too silly.

Brian Michael Bendis recently sat down for a podcast/interview with ComicNewsIntl. This reporter plagarized the transcript because she's a lazy newsdouche. here are the highlights and Q&A session.

- Bendis is writing Mighty Avengers with Art by Frank Cho. Mark Bagley will soon be taking over though Frank though. Bendis indicates that he and Mark are also working on another new Ultimate Spider-Man project due out sometime next year.(EDIT Bagley recently signed with DC, so probably not gonna happen)

- The Initiative will be tested on every level as possible leading up to the Secret Invasion and some members of the Initiative may have already been infected by the Skrulls. The fate of Earth may depend on what The Initiative does or doesn't do while being tested on all these levels.

- According to Bendis, one of the good things about having an exclusive contract with Marvel is that it allows you to really buckle down and plot out these characters for a long time. For instance he has been plotting out the character of Carol Danvers since before "House of M".

- Bendis says jokingly that people don't like Tony Stark because of his mustache. Stark comes up on people's most loved and hated character lists. Bendis thinks Stark is one of the most fascinating characters in the Marvel Universe. Stark makes a decision and then does what it takes to implement that decision which sometimes is not what the popular opinion is. Magneto is another character Bendis sees as very fascinating in that way.

- If the Civil War was the divider of the Marvel Universe, the Skrull Invasion will have the effect of being the uniter according to Bendis.

- Everything is revealed in issue 1 of Invasion, they don't wait till issue 6. The Invasion will hit the Marvel Universe very hard right off the bat.

- Green eyes seem to be a hint who is a Skrull in many cases. When all is revealed they will turn all the cards over and show who did what as a Skrull.

- Initially the Skrull Invasion was just going to be an Avengers event, but it's just not realistic to believe something like this wouldn't affect the entire Marvel Universe.

- Brian jokes that he's been typing while talking, and that he just finished Halo. Seriously though he states the delay with the comic is the approval process through Bungie.

Q&A Begins:

- Are the events in the Sub Mariner going to have any effect on the upcoming Skrull invasion? Yes

- Look for a major Dr. Doom arch in Mighty Avengers with an ending that has never been done before with him.

- The unification of the Marvel Universe is something that Bendis really wants to examine during "Secret Invasion". Trust and Identification are fun things to discuss on message boards which is a question this story poses.

- Will there be one event that causes all the Skrulls to come out of hiding? In issue #1 they will all reveal themselves to do what they have to do. Whether the humans will be prepared or be able to handle this is something you will need to read and find out.

- Secret Invasion #2 will likely reveal something Bendis has been building up for some time.

- According to Bendis this whole thing will be judged by the weakest Skrull reveal, so he has made sure that the reveals have been planned and thought out. They aren't using this to just fix plot problems that someone may have gotten their character into. Since Cap didn't turn into a Skrull when he died like Elektra did, it's not likely that the dead Cap was a Skrull.

Bendis states that Skrull issues to be sure to catch are New Avengers #31, New Avengers: Illuminati #5 which are already out and Mighty Avengers #6 which goes on sale December 19.

I'm happy I don't read spoilers. I was very surprised by Spidey "One More Day" part 3 - a very interesting way to set up a big event in PP's life. I think I know what he and MJ are going to choose, but it's still interesting (kinda like how I was surprised and a bit impressed with how GLu wrote Palpatine's advantage over Anakin - it actually seemed plausible).

So I read Hulk 111 today, which came out one week after WWHulk 5 (the end of the story). I was expected a follow-up to the events, and some prep for the new ongoing "Hulk" series by Jeph Loeb during which the Hulk will be red (yep - don't ask).

Instead, the story takes place before the end of WWHulk. Why the fuck not just hold WWHulk back an extra week? It was late by about a month already. :frus:

DD 102 was good however, the confrontation between him and Mr. Fear is going to be ass-whoopin' good.

I just read a preview of the new War Journal.

Wow.

How the fuck is this book still made? This is bad. The idea isn't inherently flawed, though it borders really close to full-on stupid. Kraven II (III? IV? who knows?) kidnapping animal-themed supervillains isn't a horrible idea, but would be tough to do right. Him having so many without having been noticed or just killed by someone, especially when they're heavy hitters like Rhino and Vulture, is fucktastically fucktarded.

Some deranged Ennis fan should dress up like the Punisher and pop Fraction's ass. With a BB gun, of course. I'm not advocating killing the guy. Just scaring the living shit out of him.

Seriously, man, I want to find out what school he went to in Charlotte, go back in time, get my past self transferred to that school, and train my past self to beat the shit out of him every day so he's brain dead. Actually given how bad this is, I think I might actually be destined to do that.

New Avengers 37 was so hard to follow, I pretty much stopped paying attention. Lenil Yu - you are the weakest link. Goodbye.

i think new avengers is suffering from the holding pattern it's in while mighty avengers gets its ass in gear. it's like they've told the same story over and over again for the past 5 months waiting for the new/mighty showdown. pretty annoying, but that's life.

New Avengers was ROCKIN' right along.... but I think you're right. That whole Symbiote storyline smacked of filler, as does this latest "story" about The Hood and his gang of evildoers. It's time for Skrulls, not dicking around. :frus:

Cap 33 - the NEW Captain America is getting set to assume the mantle, and you'll never guess who it is!!!

Okay, yes you will - it was pretty obvious - but it's still awesome. :D

I'm betting it's someone who was once joked about the same as Jason Todd, where we all said he was the one Marvel character who would never return from the netherworld, and, yet, he returned about the same time as Jason.

Yep, it's James "Bucky" Buchanan, at least as far as we can tell at this point. At the end of 33 he's made an agreement to pick up the shield with Tony Stark, who is working hard on making sure all of his mental "programming" (suggestive thoughts, trigger words, etc implanted by the Red Skull) is cleansed so he's good to go.

Reviews with Spoilers ahead...

Hulk 1 - very well written and drawn book (Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuiness - sweet team there, folks) following Doc Sampson and She-Hulk as they go to Russia to try and help solve the murder of Emil Blonsky - the Abomination! He was apparently shot using a huge SHIELD issue handgun, one that would fit the Hulk's grip. The surprise? Bruce Banner is alive and locked up in some holding facility! Who's the hulk????

ASM Brand New Day - yyyyeeaaaah. I was okay with the preview, and the book seemed to read okay... but I'm not sure about the whole thing yet. JJJ has a massive jammer at the end of the book following a pretty angry confrontation between he and PP (during which Parker screams "I MADE YOU!!!" right in JJJ's face when he's refusing to pay Pete for photo royalties - the paper's in a horrible financial tailspin) and falls to the floor. Guess we find out next week if he lived or not.

Well the opening page of Spidey was really reminiscent of last week's opening.... only different.
