“WHAT ARE THOOOSSSEEE??!?” is one of my favorite movie lines to quote.
"No Tom Foolery today, Ron. I'm tired of looking at your dreadful, speckled mug."
"Why do you hurt me in this way, Harry?"
”It’s a grid system motherfucker. Eleven up and one over, you simple bitch.”

There are a billion funny ones. My favorite was the vine that had "What are those" being sung to the tune of the Jurassic Park theme with cartoon dino rocking big red sneakers.

We had to put our 18 year old cat down yesterday, so the opening narration by Stan Lee hit me in the feels on an already emotionally straining day, but Damn Marvel can string together a trailer.
Thats like a new movie every three months for the next three years! And thats not including the D+ TV shows.

Re: MCU Topic
This tells us nothing about the movie.
And they had to add the last line about Cap/Iron Man so you’d know it was actually an MCU movie.
The internet is making so much fun of the “we’ve never interfered...until now” line.

Yeah, no need to stop your crazy cousin from wiping out half the universe, right?
And I legit thought that was Bucky at the end saying he could lead the Avengers. Which is actually funnier.

Re: MCU Topic
Mildly off topic, but was Simu Liu asked to be Shang-Chi without having ever heard of the character and initially was worried it would be exploitative, or did he specifically ask Marvel years ago to make a Shang-Chi movie? Because he's said both (and I recall the tweet where he asked them to make it, thinking, "Yeah, that'll never happen").
I pretty much was in his corner regarding the cancelation of Kim's Convenience, but his statements on both that and Shang-Chi are just becoming more and more contradictory.
(He also made the bold claim that this was the first time a successful show that the actors wanted to keep doing was canceled because the producer lost interest. Al Swearengen would like a motherfucking word.)

After Black Widow my interest wanes hard. I have no feelings either way about Shang Chi & Eternals looks poopier than the Iron Fist TV show looked.

Re: MCU Topic
Do we wanna talk Loki?
I’m suspicious of this “sacred timeline” business. The idea of there being a multiverse with branching timelines already exists in the MCU and one could even point out things like Agents of SHIELD where Coulson lives as evidence that alternate universes exist(not even going to get into the actual number of alt Marvel Universes that exist based on existing cinematic Marvel properties). So I’m thinking the TVA is a little more sinister in that maybe they’re trying to protect THIER timeline, but its a bit misleading when the animated Miss Minutes suggests after the multiversal war, there was only one timeline left.
Also, when they talk about “pruning” and “resetting’’ the timeline. We saw what pruning does and it’s not pleasant, but we didn’t see what resetting does, other than Loki’s brief reaction to it in the desert before they went thru the doorway. I’m betting those nomads, and that kid in France didn’t fair well during the reset. So the TVA is(maybe) indifferent about killing witnesses to their efforts and that certainly doesn’t make them good guys.
I sincerely hope Owen Wilson’s Agent Mobius doesn’t end up being a bad guy. Because if anyone knows their Marvel Meta history, they know Mobius is based on the late Mark Gruenwald, the king continuity nerd at Marvel for many years, who was responsible for the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe and other assorted continuity books. The TVA was Walt Simonson’s humorous homage to Gruenwald keeping things straight at the House of Ideas. Making Mobius a villain does a HUGE disservice to Mark’s legacy.
On the positive side, I absolutely loved the aesthetic of the first episode, and the deconstruction of the absurdities of the expanding mythos of the MCU. The guy playing Casey is a treasure. “That’s a dumb name.” had me rolling.

Re: MCU Topic
I haven't built up the energy to watch it yet. Netflix added some crazy 80's stuff so I watched Rambo part II last night & got halfway through Roadhouse before I went to bed. Once I see him tear buddy's throat out tonight with his shirtless kungfuratejitsu I'll try to get it done.

I thought it was quite good, and I can tell it's going to be a slow burn, but I'm really not getting why people are saying it was the best MCU TV premiere yet.

Re: MCU Topic
You do raise a very good point about a multiverse with branching timelines clearly already existing. It did stand out that Mobius shows Loki the death of Coulson and they discuss it... only Coulson isn't dead in Agents of SHIELD so that right there is a definite branch. No multiverse also sort of negates the need for a What If...? series.
And I don't recall the exact wording, but did anyone else catch that the educational video used "multiverse" and "madness" in the same sentence? Strange, but who am I to judge?

I don't think the MCU acknowledges/accepts the ABC MCU.
And Agents Of SHIELD also ignored the MCU at a certain point.
