Shockblast is pretty cool--he was called Shockwave in the original line, and he's a pretty awesome figure all around. If it's $7 and you don't want the Night Creeper, I'd be happy to either go halfsies or trade something for the Night Creeper. They were probably after you stopped following the vintage line, but they kicked all sorts of ass in the comics (they were corporate execs -slash- master ninjas who worked for the highest bidder, who, obviously, was Cobra... and, of course, they were no match for an Arashikage master like Snake Eyes or Storm Shadow and attacked in huge numbers), and I love the blue camo deco on the ROC version.

I got Croc Master and Wild Bill/Scrap Iron today. I passed on the Cobra Diver and some teal colored Cobra Ninja.

I remember the vintage Shockwave for some reason. My brother must have had it. Might go back by that Walmart tomorrow to get that 2 pack. If I do, set aside the Night Creeper for you.

Went back to WM and got the last Shockwave/Night Creeper. They had 4 of this Stormshadow vs. Snake Eyes set for $7 in the clearance aisle. Cool platform, but I didn't really like either figure.

I got one of those on clearance. The platform is nice, a re-use of a playset from the Valor vs Venom line. I got one on clearance here for the same price (or only slightly more), mostly for the massive amount of ninja weapons. I kept the weapons and the platform, and gave the figures to my daughter. If she gets bored of the Storm Shadow, I'll borrow him back to be another background ninja.

Had another stupid idea. Walmart has these "Imagination Adventure" toys that are about the same scale as GI Joe. They are mostly camping and outdoors type sets with figures, vehicles, and accessories. There are a couple sets that have a little boy, along with various camping items. It would be perfect to re-enact some of the PSAs from the 80s cartoon.

There is a TRU near UNLV, and I had time to kill today. I walked over there and found Quick Kick. It is the first time I saw him and I ended up buying him. Still haven't seen Spirit. Not sure if I want him or not. I'd rather get the 25th Anniv. version.

I saw some comic packs at Big Lots: Destro/Iron Grenadier, Duke/Red Star, Shipwreck/Copperhead, damaged Storm Shadow/damaged Snake Eyes, and Storm Shadow/Firefly. They were $10, so hardly a huge bargain, but that was the original retail, so it wasn't bad. (Just high for 2-year-old product at a closeout store, I thought.)

I didn't get any of them, but the Storm Shadow/Firefly set is especially good.

Those Adventure figures remind me of the classic Fisher-Price figures and playsets from the 70s.

Me too, except the Fisher Price toys look like they are better quality.

Set of COBRA Desert & Arctic Assault Squads for $29. Seems like a good deal. Too bad I don't want them.

That is a good deal. Rite Aid had them last year for the same price, without shipping, though. I'd recommend them--no joke, I got two or three of each.

I sound like a hoarder, don't I? I just prefer my Joes to appear to be underdogs. That, and those sets have great custom fodder pieces.

Yes, they look cool and everything. But there are other things I want to get first:

GI Joe Assault on Cobra Island set
Shipwreck (Amazon)
Tomax and Xamot comic pack (amazon)
FLAK Cannon set (Ross)
Stinger(Ross)
Vamp (TJ Maxx)
And maybe the new Snow Cat and the TRU Sting Raider.

Aw, shoot, I could've scored you a dozen of that Shipwreck not too long ago. Haven't seen him in a while, though. There's the comic pack with Copperhead and Shipwreck at Big Lots; I doubt it will vanish too quickly.

I'll hunt at the Rosses around here and see if I can score another Stinger and FLAK. The VAMP is still around the Marshallses here. Haven't seen any Assault on Cobra Island sets in a while.

The "Sting Raider" was released as a large vehicle, and could potentially show up at Ross with the other vehicles. Of course, the way the re-release is rotting at TRU, I bet that one shows up at one of the closeout stores before too long.

Those vehicles are in the stores here and the Cobra Island set is online at BBTS and Amazon. I'm in no rush to get any of this. I talked to the V.A. and they said my money should be in my account in the next week. And I'm just over half way of earning another $25 gift card on mypoints.

Marshall's had the blue Firebat (I forget the ROC name of it) for 9.99 today, meaning that, a bit oddly, they're cheaper than Ross on these small vehicles. I'm going to keep scouring and hope I find some of the final wave.

JJ or mabs, you don't happen to see those (Lava Pod, Tiger Claw ATV, Polar SHARC, or Desert Rockslide) gathering dust up there, do you? I doubt it, but I know they were released in Canada and not the US, likely as repayment for the tons of exclusives you guys don't get.

Also, and this may be just the one location, but they had a Wild Bill vs Scrap-Iron comic pack on clearance for $5. Not sure if other comic packs would be marked down (Marshall's has been known to mark down individual items) or other stores might be doing the same thing. I passed, but am now sorta regretting it--God knows I don't need either figure, but the rocket launcher alone would be worth getting yet another of.
