The answer to how do you get an amnesiac Batman to remember who he is.
Easy. He downloads his backup memory from his giant anti-amnesia machine he has in the Batcave.
Stahp it DC. JUST STAHP.

So this Rebirth silliness may or may not be DC reverting back to its older continuity.
But what it definitely is, is all the Nu52 series are coming to a conclusion with their 52nd issues. The ones that made it all 52 issues that is. Which helps because I now have definitive numbers to track down back issues.
Also, Action and Detective will be reverting to their pre-Nu52 numbering.
But not Batman and Superman, which had almost as impressive numbers.
In any case, it won't be enough to reignite my interest in buying DC on a regular basis, UNLESS....Tom King is writing Batman and Clay Mann is drawing Batman. Then I'll give it a shot.

I guess it's good that I haven't dropped Batman and Detective yet.

We see this as a victory - they're "admitting failure" and "going back to what THE READERS want!!!!", when really it's just another turn of hamsterwheel we're all running on, setting us up for another restart at #1 in a few months. Fucking stupid hobby.

I'm not falling for it. I have no idea what's going on with DCs continuity right now. I suspect even they don't know.
And for all the acclaim Scott Snyder's Batman run has gotten, from the few scattered issues I've popped my head in for, I haven't been impressed. Which is too bad, because I was liking his pre-Nu52 Detective runs.
I didn't read Court of Owls, but the idea that there's been a centuries old cabal hidden in Gotham and rich boy Wayne had no clue it existed is ridiculous.
Trying to wedge Morrison's Batman Inc stuff into the Nu52 continuity was ridiculous.
Death of the Family started out strong, but the ending was weak and underwhelming.
Zero Year shat all over Year One and ended up being No Man's Land caused by the Riddler, which is ridiculous. And it went on way too long.
And then there's the whole Batman has amnesia and Gordon is the Bat-Rabbit Robot. Which is ridiculous. Except for the part where Bruce uploads his e-memory from the machine he had just in case he got amnesia. No wait, that's ultra ridiculous.
And while I enjoy Capullo's art and he had some pretty badass Batman pages, his human characters all look a little too cartoony for me.

Based on Vision being so fucking weird, I might roll the dice on Tom King's Batman for an issue or 2.

So the overhyped Snyde/Capullo run is over?

Snyder's moving over to Detective. Capullo wanted a break, but he might be back eventually.
They haven't announced who'll be writing the new Batman #1 yet.

I think the writing is on the wall - not sure if it's confirmed or not.

They are announcing all the Rebirth creative teams later this month at some convention.

It would be against the laws of nature, but I would like to see what Romita Jr would do with Batman.
EDITED: nevermind - a quick google search revealed plenty of images - I missed the memo that he had gone to DC! What the actual fuck???

Punisher vs Batman.

The Rebirth Oneshot that comes out next week got leaked early.
Ummm...DC, what the assfucking fuck are you doing???
Okay, admittedly they are trying to right some wrongs. Wally West, the REAL Wally West, is coming back. Ryan Choi, the second Atom is coming back. The JSA is coming back. I think...they are trying to bring the pre-Flashpoint stuff back...sorta.
But the stuff that's just...I don't even...there are THREE Jokers??! Like, Batman never noticed his arch nemesis was three different assholes taking turns? Are you fucking kidding me with that diarrhea? Doesn't that just make Batman like the stupidest detective in the history of detecting things??
And that's not even like the biggest fuck off. Nope. You know who caused the Nu52?
DR. FUCKING MANHATTAN.
There is literally not enough chode on the goddamn planet for Geoff Johns to suck on right now. We would have to import alien chode, dig up dead chode, and wait until China and India can produce more over the next 15 years to even come close to filling the quota of chode needed.
Discuss.
