Also, that was not Kang.

As a finale for the series, it was a little slow and talk-y, but holy shit, the implications and possibilities going forward far outweighs the exposition in the episode. They can cherry pick from all the other live action universes (X-Men, Netflix, etc) and fold them into the MCU because of the multiverse.
yeah, necessarily expository, but yes - the implications are astronomical.

yeah, but it was a variant of
Nathaniel Richards so it counts. the
statue at the end, on the other hand...

They never said that name - only "He Who Remains."

Ahmed Best wants to be Reed Richards.
Surprisingly, that sounds rather not bad.

Then he put on the wrong underwear that morning.

Finally saw Black Widow.
Not top tier, but I really liked it.
Am I forgetting something, or did I miss something?
How did Nat go from about to be arrested to on her way to the Raft prison break two weeks later?

saw it last night. i liked it a lot. great interactions between the "family". lots of well-executed Russian deadpan humor.

yeah, that was the only thing that left me scratching my head.

Double feature at the drive-in. Saw Shang-Chi and finally caught Black Widow.
Black Widow: I put off seeing this for a while because the stakes were relatively low and a lot of people were griping about it. (Not that I put much stock in fanboy opinions, but it made it tough to brave going out, and it felt wrong to watch on Disney+ after ScarJo sued.) This was an excellent movie. I wasn't crazy about the Taskmaster twist, but I'm not a huge fan of the character (don't hate him, just never saw him as more than "villain of the month"), so it didn't bother me too much. Florence Pugh is going to be a better BW than Scarlet (except for her glorious first scene in Avengers).
Shang-Chi. Holy shit. I'll keep it out of spoiler territory for now, but this is one of their best. Even my constant desire to slap the shit out of Awkafina didn't detract much (and, unfortunately, she plays the same annoying shit she always plays... I'd ask who she's sleeping with to get these roles, but the idea of that gross skank having sex makes me nauseous).
Totally veers off from what any Shang-Chi comic I've ever read has been, resulting in an unpredictable "Marvel Crouching Tiger." Not too unpredictable, though, since it telegraphs that good will triumph the second it shows Michelle Yeoh is on their side because that woman is badass.
Okay, couple of spoiler questions about the end:
Is his sister from a comic? What is she up to? Proper MCU version of The Hand coming?
Who are what are the rings trying to contact? (Personally I'm saying Galactus or the Shi'Ar just because I want to.)
Most importantly, WHY THE FUCK WAS THAT BRUCE AND NOT PROFESSOR HULK?!?

One more thing: while trying to tune out Awkwafina, something occurred to me: as much as I hate the actress and love the character, she would've been the perfect actress for reboot Jubilee. Her dumb shit would've worked with that character.

Tom's gf works at the theatre & said Shang Chi is already exiting this Thursday(???) and that it will be on D+ soon. Wow, not really giving it much of a run.

Thursday? Dang. I've heard at least one more week here (they don't usually announce more than a week out).
I've heard late October for D+, but don't think they've officially said yet.

Disney said Shang-Chi was going to have a theatrical run of 45 days, then go to D+.
They’re experimenting with different release models to see what works best.
And to answer anarky’s question. The rings are trying to contact Fin Fang fuckin’ Foom!! Or they better be, or we are gonna have a goddamn problem.

Ah - I will have the privilege of paying for it on D+ soon, not watching it for my customary monthly fee. Makes more sense.

Black Widow make 80 million in its opening weekend and Shang-Chi made 71 million.
BW was a disappointment and SC is a huge hit?

I think it's relatively to BO records on the given weekend, with May being higher than September.
Stupid, but that's how they see it.
