Too much philosophical bullshit. No real climax or excitement. Should have been 6 issues max.
The whole thing felt like a big change that will soon be forgotten.

I'm only buying the Artgerm variant of X-Men #1.

Yeah, it feels like Professor X is imminently more sinister and nefarious than before. They were deliberately avoiding showing his face before he donned the Cerebro helmet. He’s always been a douchemayor in my book, but that council is stuffed with mostly Villains. Jean, Kurt, Storm(and Kitty) are the only “good guys” at the table.
When Magneto says “Trust me” I noticed he was wearing his helmet.
Apocalypse stewing all alone during the celebration at the end was fucking obvious ominous.

And what are the 15-19 slots on the Council page?

Today I learned there are two Krakoa islands. One in the Atlantic, one in the Pacific.

Man oh man. Really did not like New Mutants #1 in terms of art or story. Marauders was more ok, because it was a Kitty Pryde story for the most part (I guess we're calling her Kate, sorry). Im stuck as to what I'm going to do here. Actually NOT buy a Hickman book? That doesn't sound right.

I’ve been getting all the Bagley ‘Every Mutant Ever’ variant covers.
I figure the regular covers will pop up in some discount bins somewhere down the road and I’ll have both eventually.

Marvel is really doubling down on the X-books aren’t they?
After the initial six ongoings, they’ve also announced

Children of the Atom
X-Factor
Hellions
Cable
and Wolverine

That’s 11 ongoings. And I think I’ve read a few articles about potentially even more books.

Simmer down, Marvel.

We need two ongoings: X-Men and Uncanny X-Men.
Then, maybe a regular stream of mini-series, like what Marvel initially did with Star Wars, one right after the other, as it were a third regular series.

Way too much. I'm already stuck back at the issue 2's for my reading & the x-pile seems daunting.

X-Men 10 came out & I didn't even realize it, the guy at the store had to tell me it was in my pull folder. I was shocked. Anyhow it's an Empyre tie-in issue focusing on Vulcan and a couple of hot chicks I wasn't familiar with. I'm thinking some of the Somers seed was seriously spread following the described events. Good for Gabe.

In reorganizing I'm also trying to figure out exactly what I'm going to try & collect from the greater X-Men universe. Something like this so far:

Uncanny X-Men 150-600 - yes & I'm almost done with this. Need some annuals & that's it.

X-Men/X-Men Legacy 1-300 - yes, at least to 275. If I can get the Legion focused run complete & cheap I'll likely buy it. I think I'm missing about 50 issues total here since I stopped at 250.

New Mutants 1-100 - yes, missing about 10 issues in here and some of the annuals... including Psylocke's first appearance of course. Of course.

X-Force 1-129 - no. I think I'm going to pass on most of this & just grab the Epic Collections if I can find them on sale. Once we get to the Mike Allred stuff at the end I'll try to grab them....

X-Statix 1-26 - no... well maybe. I'll try to grab a complete collection trade instead.

Cable 1-107 - no.

X-Man 1-75 - no.

Generation X 1-75 - maybe. I have a chunk of it already & we'll see what I can scrounge up in the dollar bins.

X-Factor 1-149 - yes, I think so. I've got a big chunk of it done & should be able to fill in what I need pretty cheaply.

Excalibur 1-125 - maybe. I don't have much of this, likely better off leaving it & getting the Epic Collections instead.

There are of course many more series that were started, such as Astonishing & Ex-Treme.... but I can't quite get my head around getting more of this stuff. I have all of Whedon's Astonishing & that'sf fine, but I haven't heard anything good about Ex-Treme and I'm just not excited about the prospects of spending money on it.

Once we get to 2012 & the post-Schism relaunches I'll have to decide what I'm going to do there. Uncanny is done, I have most of the Wolverine solo stuff & Legion is a possibility. I think Jason Aaron wrote Wolverine & the X-Men as a core book there for about 25 issues or so, so I may need to track those down.

"THIS IS GETTING OUT OF HAND. NOW THERE ARE TWO OF THEM!!!"

Hickman X-Men 11 is not only an Empyre event crossover, but a chapter in the X of Swords event as well. Keep it up, Marvel.

I haven’t read ANY of the x-books since the House/Powers kickoff series. So I’m lowball estimating I’m about 200-250 issues behind in my reading.
But I decided to read Planet Size X-Men #1 today.

The X-Men terraform Mars into a habitable planet in one day and cede it to the Arrako mutants after the events of the Sword of X Event.
Mutants now have their own planet in our solar system. Hahaha! Love it.

That's actually not bad. I hope there is still a copy left next time I hit the store. X-Men is restarting with a new #1 next month, Gerry Duggan is writing. Hickman will be writing an "Inferno" series that promises to pay off some of the plotlines he's been carrying since H&P. I'm still waiting for some big moments - it's been a lot of treading water with some nice art throughout.

I flipped through it the other day. Looked ridiculous.

I don't recognize the X-Men anymore - they've strayed too far from what made them readable.

Well I started Inferno tonight which will bring my current dose of X-Reading to a close. Hickman built a very interesting setting in which to tell x-stories, but hasn't delivered even one moment I'd call a "Hickman moment" in this entire thing. I'll hope for good resolutions to the Trial of Magneto & Inferno, but with so few issues left to go they are all going to have to be monumental for me to consider the entire thing to have been worth my time & money.

Inferno has been good. One more issue to go. I am guessing that by the time it resolves I'm going to say to myself - you could have just read House, Powers & Inferno, the rest had no bearing on anything.
