The immolation story is cooler.

I had an idea for a last page bit in a comic. The cover advertises that Ghost Rider (But Not Really Ghost Rider) will appear. On the final panel, we see a guy in a leather outfit walking past the main character, thinking, "Man, this awesome Ghost Rider costume will be the hit of the party!" In the next panel, as he's walking into a building or alleyway or something, we see he's holding a can of gasoline in one hand and holding up a lighter in the other, thinking, "And, now, for the final touch!" The next panel is a massive explosion coming from wherever the guy in leather just went.

Say wha? The only "new" Qui-Gon is the second Movie Heroes release, with a light-up lightsaber. The other three verions - The Vintage Collection, first Movie Heroes version, and Walmart exclusive Discover the Force - are all the same figure, but the Vintage one has a cloak while the other two have a Naboo grappling hook blaster from The Clone Wars line (furthermore, the hilariously acronym'd DTF figure has 3-D glasses and a 3-D image on the cardback, but whatever). This figure was first released in the Legacy of the Jedi Evolutions set (with AOTC Bultar Swan and NJO Luke), then re-released a number of times, most notably with a poncho and Eopie for the mail-away set.

I think it's a mistake. Still, the new one is pretty awesome, and I already have three (thanks to TRU's sale).

I've also gotten three more TVC Battle Droids, since even with the hands that can't really do a two-handed grip, the gun that won't attach to the backpack, the uneven weathering, and the fact that they've recently sold two Battle Droids in a pack for $7, it's still just really fucking awesome. (Mind you, I wouldn't have gotten them for $10 each, but again, it's thanks to TRU's sale.)

Swung by WM on the way to the Comic Shop. The Sentinel was marked down to $25 so I got one. Debating on whether to go back and get more.
They also had the Lego Police station marked down to $50, the AC Mothership was $30 and the Lego Rocket Launch set marked down to $35.

The local WM severely under-ordered toys for Christmas, and have had nothing worthwhile on clearance. The stuff that's left, I guess they figure it's not enough to clog up shelves, so they have only made the tiniest markdowns (like a $40 item marked down to $38).

My WM was like that a couple days ago. The employee was actually marking them down as I walked into the aisle. I think since it's the 1st of a new month, they might've got the almighty word from Bentonville to slash even further. It might be worth it to swing by again.

If you fucking assholes think telling me the battle droid is awesome is going to convince me to buy one - and I wind up buying one - you'll pay for your insolence. God damn fucking assholes. :frus:

Got the Hiss Tank Scout. It took me a while to figure out how to hook it to the Hiss Tank because it wasn't in the instructions. Then I found the picture. They are fine individually, but hooking the scout and the tank together is awkward.

Passed on the cycle because it seemed silly.

Are these in the US now then? Chux, do you still want the ones I have for you here? I might have to take them back very soon if you're not going to need them - please advise.

After a long dry spell, I picked up Mawhonic, Ric Olie, and the Gungan Warrior. The store also had Qui-Gon, Yoda, and Obi-Wan, who looked like rehashes; Aurra Sing, who, well, who the fuck really needs a new Aurra Sing with articulated elbows because she doesn't fucking do anything; and the Naboo Pilot, who I figured I'd wait on and get later on the Vintage card if I still want him since he's the same figure as Ric Olie with a different head that's not as cool because Ric is a fucking badass old man that was on Quaaludes during TPM or he would've defeated the Trade Federation by throwing fucking pinecones at the bastards because he really is that fucking badass. (I just decided that's a new meme. Ric Olie is a badass, and Panaka's only job is to keep him pacified because otherwise he fucks shit up, yo.)

They were missing the new astromech and the droideka. I thought the droideka was a re-release, but maybe not. The astromech might've tempted me if he'd been there, since he's not getting re-released on the Vintage card (along with Ric, because Hasbro is too fucking scared at the possible repercussions to the space-time continuum if they release more than one Ric Olie per decade), but at $9 for another astromech, I'm not going to lose sleep if I don't find one.

Sorta like with Vader and Battle Droids, I never thought it would be possible to get fucking sick of astromechs, but Hasbro has a way of doing that, oyes.

I had a good long look at the bd in the package - didn't even come close to parting me from the money. /brofist EP, /brofist.

Picked up 4 more wave 6 Lego mini-figures on Saturday. TRU had a 2 for $5 deal. Got the surgeon, minotaur, gray alien, and the butcher. We were hoping for the bandit, statue of liberty, or the space girl. This particular TRU has the minifigures right near the register, so I just grabbed 4. I feel like a jackass feeling the packages trying to figure out what is in them anyway.
