The latest episode/season finale was bittersweet.
It had something I've been wanting since the movie premiere, just not the way I wanted it.
And it probably won't last.

They seem to be rushing the "get rid of show-only characters" thing from what I'm reading. Didn't they axe like twelve guys, including Savage Oppress(ion of the Star Wars Mythos) three weeks back?
They're falling into the same trap they did with ROTS (and ROTJ, to be honest), where there are a lot of characters whose exits should've been spaced, but all get wacked at once.
Though I must confess, if they're re-doing the EU anyway (which is what it seems like), it might be interesting for Luke and/or Leia (or, hell, even Han) to encounter an old Ahsoka Spears and learn about Anakin. If she were to meet Han on some adventure, then die, it could actually be a decent explanation for how Han (sorta) got over his aversion of Leia's dad being Darth Vader.

I have slowly been listing more and figures & figure sets for sale on the Canadian site. I'm for sure over the prequels, even though we watched the chase scene from EpIII recently and it was not too bad.

No long-running series characters died in this last arc. This season we've seen Adi Gallia die, but only three long-running series characters were killed off (alongside plenty of deaths of newly introduced characters, to be sure). Ahsoka and Ventress are both still very much alive and Filoni has said they'll be following up with Ahsoka - this is absolutely NOT the end of her, or her appearances on the show.
And I don't know how many times I have to tell you that this arc invalidates nothing from the Medstar books. But believe what you want.

Didn't say Ventress or Ahsoka died. (I hope the one thing they keep from the old EU is the last scene of Ventress flying off into the wild blue yonder... though apparently she has to pretend to fall to her death several more times first.) But Pre Vizsla, Satin, and several other characters died just a few episodes back in what I've been told by many fans of the show (not mutual hat--I mean, not-carers

) reeked of house-cleaning.

Well, Filoni said that George wanted to start resolving the fates of some of the characters, and three popular characters created for the show - Satine, Pre Vizsla, and Savage Opress - died over two episodes, though nobody else did (aside from background character, troopers, and that sort of thing). It's been mentioned that Maul will still show up again, even if Sidious put a stop to his quest for power. So they resolved a lot of stuff and killed some characters but brought up even more questions and introduced at least one new character you can tell they'll be following up on (Bo-Katan, Satine's sister and Death Watch commando). But four semi-major deaths over a season does not a house-cleaning make.

For those keeping track at home, The Clone Wars will no longer be airing new episodes on Cartoon Network. It's winding down, but production is continuing on arcs that will fill in the remaining story gaps. How many, where, and when are all unanswered right now.
Detours has been pushed back to a later date, so the scene with the Stormtrooper singing Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" can be even more out-of-date if/when it airs. Like TCW, it seems that a lot of work has been put in on this one, so I still assume it'll be coming in some way or another.
There will be another animated series set during a time period previously untouched by SW films or TV shows.

Just throw Detours on Dvd/blu-ray and make some money on it, rather than sitting on it.

Probably make more money if people buy it for the SW name. I can't imagine too many people seeing it on TV, then buying the DVD or blu-ray. What they showed so far isn't funny.

The kids brought Lego Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out over to watch. It's a 22 minute Lego style animated film that takes place immediately after ANH.
It's quite humorous with lots of funny Easter Eggs, particularly on billboards that are on screen for barely a frame or two. I was pausing the DVD quite a bit. It also, for comedic effect, has OT characters interacting with Prequel characters. And not any less plausibly than some of the actual connections in the films. Han, Luke, and Liea head to Naboo, Darth Maul is back helping build the second Death Star, Vader is back on Tatooine with Watto, etc.
Pretty funny stuff.

That is disturbing. I saw some dog costumes on BBTS or EE that were Tauntauns, AT-ATs, and a Dewback. The Tauntaun and Dewback had the appropriate riders.
