Hulk 62 - I read it, and was "surprised" I guess. Im more looking forward to seeing how it pans out, and whether or not Homebase just designed their agent to look like Betty. I was almost more expecting Thunderbolt Ross to come back on the scene based on EP's post above.
Read Amazing 500 and Spectacular Spidey 5 both today, I really liked them both. Spidey has reunited the Symbiote with Eddie Brock, who has been dying of cancer since before he became Venom. In this issue, he nearly bites it before Spidey hurls him into the Symbiote reuniting Venom against the suit's wishes. Oh, and the suit is pregnant too. Might be interesting.
Amazing 500 was a very nice tribute to the greatest comic story ever told. Strange's gift to Peter at the end was touching, even for a jaded old bastard like myself. Stracynzki will be missed, even though he's more scared of top notch Spider villains than Aunt May.

From what I gather, JMS will still be plotting the book , but giving the dialogue over to some hooch he picked up in a bar...or whatever.
I got Avengers on Wednesday. I just don't dig the new artist after Coipels. Scott Kolis? Kolins? Whatever. His shit looks flat. And he can't even make She Hulk look hot in nothing but lacy bra and thong panties.
And I skipped Silver Surfer #2 altogether. I really dig Norrin, but the first issue was meh, and the lag until issue two, my interest waned down to zilch. Marvel screwed the pooch on that one.

That's the right way to handle it, in my opinion. I think he should see them as too trusting, and should be "cool" to them all unless dealing with Clark or Diana one on one in private. The rest are patsies.
Silver Surfer #2 wasn't worth the wait. It was "fine", but there still isn't a whole lot of cosmic ass getting kicked. Soon enough I guess.
I liked the Thanos book, lots in there that I didn't know about the Marvel Universe, specifically his family history. Warlock is a cool character as well, very difficult to tell good from bad with him.
IM still reading Namor, believe it or not, and am done the first 6 issue arc. The #7 that was left looked like rags, so I left it - but bought #8. So here I sit with another comic I can't read due to gaps. Stupid.
The last 2 Avengers books were just okay, I can't believe Coipels was only on for one arc. Cool to see Whirlwind made into a fairly good villain in the second last issue, nice and desparately horny for Wasp. Beaten too easily though. I miss Coipels already.
Cap has amazingly enough been not too bad, he's living in a world where the Ratzis won the big one, and he's heading up the resistance. Glad I stuck it out after the last story.
Iron Man - Tony will be named US Secretary of Defence next issue apparently. This one was pure set up. I like Tony more than IM, so hopefully they'll be going character focused here for a bit.
Daredevil - 51-53 have been pretty good, but isn't Daredevil actually supposed to be in his own book from time to time? Just checking. David Mack does lovely, lovely work though. The quirky art angle works perfectly well with this gritty character.
I guess that's about it. 150 bucks this week on comics - ugly. Still missing a few issues... White Queen 2-4, Kingpin 2 and 4, Punisher: Born 3 and 4, Warren Ellis' Red #2, Dark Minds Macropolis vol2 #2, etc. Long list of stuff to get someday.

Coipels is coming back when Austen starts on the book. So good news there.
Bachalo and Morales(?) take over Cap soon. It might be enough to make me pick up an issue to see if it's good. I'm heistant every time a new writer wants to explore Steve's "personal" life and the first thing they do is give him a new girlfriend. Hasn't he had plenty? Sharon Carter? Okay she may be dead now, or maybe not. I can't remember. Bernie Rosenthal? How cool would it be if Red Skull killed her just because she was Jewish, just to piss Cap off. How about Rachel 'Diamondback'? Cap used to date a teenage super villain! Probably because she was limber... Anyway, Cap already has plenty of romantic history to work with. They don't be needin' to bring a new chick just because the writer is too lazy to do his research. And What's up with everybody drawing Cap's costume all jaggy now? Did he get a new "even-more-chainmaily" costume, or is this an artistic choice and everyone's copying the first guy that did it?
So what's up with Iron Man. Is this the teenage Tony coming into his own, or did they somehow cancel out the real Stark's death and bring him back? It's not clear (and Marvel might not want to make it clear...if you get my meaning)

Speaking of Cosmic Ass kicking, Thanos #2 hit the stands today. Fucking Galactus shows up. Fucking sweet. This mag is definitely the happening place to be if you're a cosmic junkie. Fuck that Surfer nonsense. That book sucks compared to watching the Starlin master groove his thing down on paper. And Thanos is the shizz. After he drops an entire batallion of Rigellians, Warlocks all like "Maybe you could tone down the killing." and Thanos was all "meh. Whatever."
Thanos. A big middle finger for the rest on the nancy girl Marvel U and all it's pansy ass, panty waist 'morals' and whatever...
Also grabbed Supreme Power #4 and Woverine: The End #1.

Well, there was Future Imperfect. I think The End was a sort of a sequel to that, wasn't it?
Wolverine:TE was okay. They are milking this James Howlett angle now. I'll be glad when he knows the truth and it's just not a big deal in all the books. I liked how Logan's arthritis kicked in and his claws wouldn't retract. nice touch.

ooh! Lots of goodies this week.
Hulk. The Jones Deodato epic rolls along smoothly. But now I would like the issue #s of when Betty "died".
Iron Man. This whole Tony as Secretary of Defense is really good. The art is okay, not great, but it suits the story line.
1602. More palace intrigue. The Fantastic Four show up ( kinda) as prisoners of Count Otto Von Doom.
NYX. Awesome. The art is awesome. The story is great. This might be the comic I most look forward to every month. I strongly urge you all to check it out.
