Football

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

I'm glad Ezekiel Elliott signed that contract with the Cowboys only because I drafted him in the first round in one of my fantasy leagues. My starting RBs on that team are Zeke and Gurley. That would have been impossible last year. We'll see how it goes this year.

I would like for the Rams to do well again. Topps new football cards came out on Huddle today.

Unfortunately, I gave up on all the Topps apps back in January.

Good choice. I spent about $30 on Huddle tonight. :frus:

Bears lose - but god, it was glorious seeing the NFL in action again.

Well, if I'm going to spend money on cards, I at least want that piece of cardboard. I started collecting mostly late-70s to mid-80s baseball and hockey cards again, with the occasional football card.

New England basically gets the right of first refusal on every single free agent in the League.

What odds do you give on one of the Steelers defense ‘accidentally’ hitting him too hard in Sunday’s night game and putting him on IR for the season?

They'd have to be able to get a hand on him. I'm envisioning AB for over 100 yds & at least one TD vs his old team. Pats win easy.

Bah. He’s not even playing. Lame.
And let me be clear, I think AB is an assclown. A talented assclown, but an assclown nonetheless.

I don't mind the odd prima donna. I think all the sports leagues needs some villains as much as they need heroes - if people tune in to see him fail or get jacked, it still creates interest. TO, Ocho Cinqo, we've seen this song & dance before.

Detroit begins its season in typical Detroit fashion...how soon before we fire this dipshit coach? “oh shit, my team has a sizable lead and I just have to literally DO NOTHING and we win. I should call a time out....”

At least T.J. Hockenson had a good first game.

Were the Chiefs & Patriots about the only teams to play "as expected"? I know it's week one, but Cleveland, Chicago & Pittsburgh might as well start their rebuilds.

I know it is only 1 game, but...Miami played as expected since they are tanking. All the experts have been hyping the Browns all off season, and I have yet to buy into it.

The best thing I saw today was this:
https://twitter.com/MattBarkley/status/ ... 1843221504

Mike Francesa is a sports talk radio guy in New York City. He probably should have retired a long time ago. Today he tweeted "Barkley is the best runner in the NFL. And it isn't close." Obviously he is talking about Saquon Barkley, but Bills' backup QB Matt Barkley replied thanking him.

I’m rooting for the Browns to be good, but I’m not buying the hype yet either.

After the Miami game, all the players called their agents and requested trades.
As shitty as Miami is, they still put up more points this week than the Bears.
