A chance for the wallet to have a rest. :)

I still say they should release repaints on generic cards for Christmas. Build up interest.

You might want to start checking Walgreens and CVS. Went by 3 Walgreens today and saw a Shock Trooper, Techno Viper, Iron Grenadier, Lava Viper, Jungle Vipers, and some of the more common Renegades figures. CVS had Lifeline and a Zombie.

I almost bought the Shock Trooper. I kind of was hoping to find the Shadow Tracker. People at Hisstank said they were finding Skydive and Shadow tracker, which I thought were from the same wave.

I don't have him in-hand, but someone from another site contacted me earlier that he'd found a Shadow Tracker at Walgreens and picked him up since he thought I still needed one.

The list shrinks ever smaller. Some I'll never get, and don't care about. I can live without Pimp Daddy Destro or Wrong Color Pants Stalker. I got the Clear Wraith and traded him for something more useful since I think it's a stupid concept. I'd still give my left nut for the White Coat Rex Lewis, but I'm not going out of my way to find him.

Shadowtracker isn't a "must have" for me. It is just me being bored since I can't find the DG figures and there aren't any other Joes coming out this year. Not to mention the lack of Star Wars.

Did you ever get Crazylegs?

Hisstank "GI Joe state of the union" article: http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/con ... 012-11532/

Skipping to the good part...
Last, but not least - GIJOE Exclusives 2012? That's right, word is there is a chance that we may see some exclusive sets released before GIJOE Retaliation to bridge the gap of new product for us fans. None of this is set in stone, and will come down to retail demand. With that said, we need to make some noise on the Tank! Did you like the figures you saw via the GIJOE Concept Vault? I think Hasbro was taken off guard by the overwhelming positive feedback from what was shown in those cases. To help further along what may turn out to be new GIJOE 7-Packs (Speculation) HISSTANK.com will be holding a new GIJOE Concept Vault Madness! Much like our annual GIJOE March Madness, fans will be able to vote via face-off polls to determain the most popular picks from what was shown in the GIJOE Concept Vault. Just to be perfectly clear, this event is for fun. It is not an official Hasbro Poll and we may not see new product before next year, however it's awesome that we can show Hasbro what we like from those cases and show them what we want to see in an exclusive 7-pack. MAKE NOISE!!!!
It also mentioned that Larry King interviewed Peter Cullen at Comic Con. There is supposed to be video on youtube.

I believe Hasbro rebranded the entire GIJoe line as "Arctic Destro". That single figure was so popular that's all they put on pegs anymore.

I just realized I hadn't mentioned it in this thread.

Dollar General opened near me eight days ago. I've been there six times. On my first visit, I noticed there were no price tags for Joes, though there were a lot of empty pegs with various tags. I asked, and was told (both by an employee and the manager who verified it) that they had not received any more toys beyond what was out. Apparently, DG's strategy is, bizarrely, to not be fully stocked when they open. (They also opened at 5 PM on their first day, after putting a crudely-done handwritten sign two days earlier saying they'd be open "sometime Sunday evening.")

Every time I've been there, there are customers. They are buying things. But the level of stock in every department looks exactly the same every trip. It's like they're only replacing exactly what they sell.

And, fuck me, I want the goddamned Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander, and Cobra Trooper, at the very least. Oddly, the one I'm most likely to pass on is the vintage reproduction I've wanted the most (Snake Eyes IV), because their choice of parts leads to a piss-poor figure. I got figures at Ross for next to nothing that make for a much nicer Snake Eyes IV, sharing only the head (from Resolute/City Strike Snake Eyes) with the "official" one.

Found the Dollar General 6. It had been a long time since I last checked, and sure enough they had them. Most of the cards were bent.

They come with 25th Anniv style stands that have no names on them. The Black Cobra trooper has a holster for a knife and pistol, but the figure didn't come with either. I'm pretty sure I have extra weapons from other figures. Cobra Commander does come with a pistol in his holster and a sword. The only things painted on him are the Cobra logo on his head, a sliver line around his wrists, and a red dot on his belt.

Shipwreck has a goofy looking neck. He comes with a weird shaped pistol that hooks to his leg.

Duke also is a pistol short. The one it does come with is kind of small for the ankle holster, but it fits in the belt. It seems like he should have been either Grunt or a generic green shirt. I think his head is one of the Dusty molds.

I haven't opened Storm Shadow or Snake Eyes. If you can't find them, they are yours.

While I was out, I also went to the flea market and got carded ROC Cover Girl and Accelerator suit Ripcord for $3 each. I also got a 25th gray Firefly, black Star Wars Imperial Officer, and a couple Indiana Jones figures (Marion and a German Soldier). None of them came with accessories.

I found the DG Joes. Got them all, but I've only opened the Trooper so far. Despite the missing weapons and minimalistic paint, these guys are impressive so far. At slightly more than half the cost of the Retaliation figures, they stomp the shit out of most of them overall, and the plastic is better, to boot.

The good thing about them using the later molds is that even though the Trooper is short a knife, a pistol, and a silencer (the slot's right in front of the pistol holster), the holsters and sheathes are much smaller than in earlier figures, so it's less obvious. Some of those early figures look downright awful if their gigantic holsters are empty.

They finally released the price for the subscription figures. If there was any remote thought of getting it, I'm sure this will kill it.
The subscription will cost $294 if paid in full, or $98 per installment. You can either pay all at once, or in (3) installments. Please Note: Each Installment will have a $3 processing fee added to it.
Someone on hisstank did the math. It comes to $24/figure plus shipping.

Fuck no, and thankfully vyn's site doesn't have a ten-character minimum, not that it would matter now.

I dig 'em both. I actually think, discounting the useless Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow rehashes, I like the Joe one better. Two new figures as opposed to one. :)

Didn't think it'd be possible, but I'm getting damned sick of Firefly. On the rare occasion we get a wave with Cobra Commander, Duke, Snake Eyes, and Storm Shadow, it's usually Firefly who takes the place of whoever's missing, and they don't even really try to get too creative with him. (At least when it's Destro swapped in, they do something like "Heavy Gunner Destro" or "Arctic Destro," which, pegwarm as it still does, is at least a more original idea that "tone down the camo this time.")

I didn't buy either of the last 2 Fireflys. I have the 25th version that came with the Green shirts. Not excited about the Stormshadow. The other one looks like a Shock Trooper repaint with a parachute. Yesterday the kids and I were out in the back yard playing with the Capt. America and Cobra Parachutes.

The Joe set is supposed to be Airbourne and Mouse. I'm more interested in the Cobra set, but I'll most likely end up getting the Joe set. That way I can continue my Snake-Eyes army building habit.
