Football

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

I scanned the scores when I got home today, and guffawed out loud at the Miami game. I was like ‘what is this, a basketball game??’

Holy shit!

Their coach has way more self control than I would. I would’ve been an asshole and at least kicked a field goal to secure my name in the record books for all time.

That was a boring game with a very exciting ending. (Bills-Giants)

What’s even more bizarre is the Lions being at the top of the League standings after six games. Not the division. Not the conference. The entire NFL. Their SOV % gives them the tie break between the five 5-1 teams; Eagles, Chiefs, Niners, and Dolphins.

I’m worried they’re peaking too soon(and given their history, aren’t we perpetually waiting for the other shoe to drop?) but apart from the Ravens next week, and the Cowboys late in the season, who can give them fits for the rest of the year? Maybe the Chargers? But those games are at least winnable.

The Chiefs still have to play the Dolphins, Eagles, and Bills.
The Eagles have the Dolphins, Chiefs, Bills, Niners, and Cowboys twice.
The ‘Fins have Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, Ravens, and Bills again.
The Niners only have the Eagles and Ravens.

Obviously, if shit goes off the rails, I’ll be ‘typical.’ but… shit, I don’t even know how to process this emotion I’m feeling.

It's happening. It's really happening. There should have been another PI penalty on the last play in the Bills game, but I'm happy they won so I'll allow it.

The Bills have been on the wrong end of plenty of non-calls. That was probably a make-up call for those two times where the Giants' defender fell and tripped the Bills' WR on the way down.

From what I heard, NFL officials had a bad day all around.

Now that they have like 60 cameras pointing everywhere, the missed calls by the officials are readily apparent.

Eventually the NFL is going to have to embrace the technology and have a secondary officiating staff in direct contact with the on-field officials.
And not like the current situation where they call New York and wait five minutes for an answer.

They have been experimenting with robot umpires to call balls and strikes in baseball.

Someone on the radio was talking about how put chips on the players, that let Disney change them to animated Toy Story characters. He said if they can do that, why not put a chip in the football so they can spot the ball better, or at least determine if the ball crosses the line for first downs and touchdowns.

Oho. Well if it isn’t the other shoe dropping.
Ugh.
Okay. Nothing to panic about. That was the hardest game left on the schedule.

The Bills can't seem to put anything together the past few weeks. I'm beginning to think they need to fire the head coach and offensive coordinator.

Not going to get too far in the playoffs if you’re letting the other team walk down the field and score 38 points. Sure, it was a win, but not a confident one.

But we are the second best team at the halfway point. And the Eagles have a tougher schedule. I’m hoping someone can give them a couple ‘L’s.

Cowboys will be a tough one. Are the Vikings legit or just looking good against shitty teams? I’m hoping we will be up enough by the end of the season it won’t matter, but WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS.

Yeah I didn't like seeing them give up 38 either. Oh well, a W is a W. Onward.

Giving up 38 points against a .500 team.

But the Lions are "for real" this year.

Keenen Allen and St. Brown are both on my fantasy team, so I was happy with the results of the game.
